Optimus actually looks better in these shots. I still like Motormaster way better though. Pretty happy that they will start in DEC, didn't expect that and the box art and whole packages are sweet looking, some of the best Transformers boxes yet.

I can't wait till they update primes look in the comics, I wonder if they'll comment on prime and motormaster being mold buddies.

The main comic (was robots in disguise, now just the transformers) has been setting up combiner wars for a little while. They introduced alpha bravo in Septembers issue.

so I think it kicks off in the comics in January (may be December not sure)

Hehe, we already recorded the next one and guess whose Skype didn't play nice during the Combiner Wars talk? This guy. This guy's network decided to not cooperate At least I got my comic thoughts in! Really need to upgrade our technology.

Back on topic - I have had some caffeine and am slightly less irritated by these toys now. Maybe these can be a gateway back towards some semi-high end mass retail stuff.

Let's hope the Skype issues don't result in a string of people-talking-simultaneously-followed-by-awkward-silence type moments.

Don't forget that it's the December/January wave that most retails like to stock very little of or skip altogether. Remember last year's wave of Waspinator/Goldfire/Dreadwing/Skids?

Hopefully the inclusion of a brand new Optimus Prime is a sign that they'll stock plenty of this wave.

What I meant was that the fourth jet aerialbot (whoever Alpha Bravo is replacing, I can't remember the Aerialbots' names to save my life) may be an exclusive of some sort. I know we're getting a fourth Aerialbot limb in wave two with the other Stunticons, but I was speculating that there's probably a future for the character everybody is whining about not having in this series.

I like the bot mode (though I agree that the Universe version is better, bought all three Hasbro versions of the mold), but that jet mode has got to go. It does seem to be miss-transformed, but the proper transformation doesn't look any better underneath. The black parts on his knees are supposed to fold down and reveal pegs for the hands to grab in jet mode. It really just stabilizes the arms and lets them bend a little more, but overall it's still just a big jet with a giant box underneath it.

If Devistator happens I really hope he's very G1 looking so I can stick him in with MPs like with Blitzwing.

I still think Prime looks like he's been G2'd which is fine with me, he and four friends can fight my Generations G2 Combaticions set into oblivion.

Silverbolt 08 was good, but he didn't have to form a combiner torso and he wasn't trying to be slavishly G1.

To be fair, isn't that what Silverbolt has always been, Universe Mold included? Also, the CW alt mode is pretty darn G1 accurate, you definitely can't argue about that. :lol:

Unless the hopefully detailed and textured front of the robot can be made to look like the sleek bottom of a jet, it's hard to see how that could work.

I mean, they could do it Masterpiece Seeker style where everything folds into the fuselage, but that takes a lot of moving parts. Probably more than they can justify on a voyager.

I think he is mis-transformed, in the video he shows those wings folded backwards, and seems to fold the front of his airplane mode as well instead of hanging down... aside that the art on the box shows a different paint app and those wings and front are pointing up.

The card art is art that was made for the Transformers Legends mobile card game, it was made before this figure was conceived I believe. Most of the early Legends art is just based on a mix of the G1 toys and animation models. If you notice, the artwork on the actual box is different and is actually a drawing of the toy.

In all seriousness comparing silverbolt to his ultra mold is futile, as people have pointed out, that one wasn't meant to combine and I recall a lot of people not liking it when it was first released, talking about a lot of the same issues here. Personally my silverbolt will be n torso mode all the time anyway
