Welp, after the Cyclonus thing, this pretty much confirms it.

I prefer the look of the Classics mold, despite not owning it. That's the problem though - need an Ironhide, need a Prowl, but can't afford Classics, don't like CW appearances. What's a casual, non-wealthy collector to do?

I can understand why they're doing it but, I'd rather have Ironhide use the First Aid mold, it just looks better I think. Also I know people are living and dying off a head crest but lets not forget, the pictures from First Aid's comic were sketches, they don't always have the complete detail.

Why so much hate for the G1 Arkbots being combiners?
We know that CW is chock full of retools. The moment this stuff was leaked it shoulda been very apparent that this is how it would go down. If these figures were made, then goblins came and destroyed your existing C/G Arkbots, you'd have something to complain about. But these existing doesn't taint your existing collection.

Don't like them? Don't buy them. GAWD.

Seems just like human nature. That's one of the reasons I avoid the comment sections of most websites.

Me, myself and I; we are totally psyched for all these combining "supposed to be non combining g1" bots that are missing from my collection. I am pretty much missing all of them. They may not quite be my vision of the characters, but I think it gives them an extra layer of fun.

I hope Prowl is sculpted from Streetwise. To me Prowl is a car. It seems a little to late, but I'm still wishing Ironhide uses the First Aid mold. That mold just seems to fit him better. Sunstreaker and Mirage seem like dead ringers for the molds they are going use. Is there anyone I've missed?

At the end of CW, maybe I will get a shelf just for Dead End and Offroad repaints.

Just had another idle thought about the inevitable club/botcon combiner retreads of these moulds.

Mayhem attack squadron.

Alpha Bravo -> Spinister
OffRoad -> Ruckus
Air Raid -> Needlenose
Breakdown -> Crankcase?
Rook/Brawl -> Bludgeon?

No idea yet who the torso would be... and none of the pretenders really seem to fit until we get beast mode combiners.

What I dont get is why everyone keeps saying they want the autobot combiner from the G1 masquerade episode ? There was no autobot combiner portrayed in that episode. There was only a 2nd "menasor" portrayed in that episode that happened to be Autobots using their own special powers to create this illusion. Winchargers electric field provided the static electricity to hold them together. And Mirages hollogram powers provided the disguise. There was no Autobot combiner. It was an illusion. We never saw what was under the hologram. And even if you have a vivid enough imagination that you want to "pretend" that this was what was under the hologram, they used the wrong autobots. So its not even a homage to the masquerade episode. Its just a really lazy repaint. Ironhide with no window on his chest ? Cmon now ? Sorry to be such a killjoy, but I stand by my opening comment. These repaints are really going to suck...

im happy we are getting a new ironhide. and i can only assume we are getting a ratchet too. any thing is better than the hunk of crap that is the universe mold.

His design sketch posted a few months back showed parts of Offroad's Vehicle Mode shell, specifically the hood and the lower legs.

You need to stop taking everything we say seriously. True, the episode was basically cop-out, but the basic idea of Autobot Cars "combining" is still there.

I don't think we can be 100% sure yet. Only time will tell.

I'm not currently reading the comics, but I've seen an image or two. What I'm more curious about is Soundwave using the Voyager Prime/Motormaster mold! Will that be fully realized in plastic form? If so, I might FINALLY have a decent C/G Soundwave for my shelf!

Sorry for removing the spoiler quotes, but my citation would not have worked with them. I was just wondering something Shajaki, since you are referring to a new version of soundwave who would be a voyager, and imposing/bulky, and a truck, why would you preffer him over the current FOC mold which seems to have been used as C/G Soundwave in the modern comics? I ask because to me, it isn't too much of a difference to what we already had and he wouldn't have an opening chest cavity, or at least a clear plastic one, which would be important for me to include him.

Generally, I think the WFC Soundwave mold is amazing. He is my current C/G deluxe Soundwave. The FOC one is just too much bulk for me, and the gimmick, while cool, exacerbates (or necessitates) that.

I would love a suitable C/G voyager Soundwave, and if they can do it from MM, one of my favorite CW molds thus far, all the better.

That would be a pretty dope Soundwave. I wonder if they could intergrate his shoulder weapon into the transformation or just drill a port up there?

And who wouldn't love some CW cassette bot love? They could be stored in his back where the other legends plug in.

I purchased Brake-neck an hour ago and there were only (2) left by completion of order. The total price was lower with ship to store and I should have it by 5.29.15. I'm hoping Quickslinger will be back in stock again soon as I missed round 1 and 2 of him. I almost purchased Brake-neck early yesterday and glad I waited until the price change as Quickslinger was out of stock then too.

The FOC Soundwave has too much of a stylized Cybertronian thing going on to fit my desires for a C/G representation of the character. But you raise a good point: his height. I really can't have him any taller than Classics (United) Megatron... and he might be pushing the limit...

While the ark Autobots are a bit sketchy in their being repaints/retools of Stunticons, etc. I'm SO SO glad they are doing them. Most of the combiners and season 2 and 3 characters got very little screen time... and I'd say same for the comics, for the most part. I can barely keep them apart or remember their names.

Point being, mixing some memorable, awesome characters in with the mix — in spite of their not originally being combiners — is a good way to get me more excited about the toy line. It also opens a lot of fun story ideas, like the Masquerade episode.

OH. And thanks — carrytheone — for the pic of Soundwave! While it wouldn't be "perfect"... it would beat out the FOC version by being just a little more G1. Good and boxy, plus height pretty good.

It's a pretty different design for Ironhide but colored right it could look decent. At least he'll look like he has a windshield on his chest plate, even if it is a small one.
