That's a hand-painted sample. They rarely, if ever, put final versions of newly-revealed figures in the BotCon display cases.fenrir72 wrote:Noticed something disturbing with the "Blastoff" mold. I'm still waiting for Blades to ship.
I finally put Defensor together, with Alpha Bravo as a stand-in for Blades. He is, at once, both my favorite and least favorite of the combiners. I love the look of him all put together, but he has so many nagging problems that just keep him from being perfect. Streetwise's shoulders tend to get in the way when I use him as an arm, which makes posing Defensor a pain. Hot Spot's legs tend to come unpegged in combined mode, causing the whole gestalt to topple over while posing him. On the plus side, Groove is much better integrated into Defensor's chest than Blackjack is on Menasor.
I'll probably end up displaying them separately. I really like the Protectobots as individual figures, particularly Rook and Hot Spot.

I totally agree with that, he works far better as an arm. I found Blades to work really well as a leg actually. While he might be thin, he offers a cool knee pad.

Exactly, everyone needs to calm the f@#k down, this is how it is every year at botcon and such. Of course the final figure is going to be molded, they paint them up so they don't have to use textured renders of the figures (pictures) for the display. People absolutely freaked when the official pics of hotspot had defensors head facing the wrong way, when, not a day earlier, it was shown in the proper way, and clearly the head was hidden; but people were still flipping tables over it

Yes, hotspot seems to have the lingering issue that mm had, where they are to deep, they have long (not wide) torso's that catch on the the kibble of the limb-bots; this is, yet another reason silverbolt/cyclonus are so solid as a torso, nothing impedes any of the limbs. I would use streetwise as a leg, but he is so flat and thin that he looks dumb and out of place
fenrir72 wrote:Rook btw looks REAL good.... I'm eyeing to get him too as an extra protectobot onces Defensor arrives.
