So the one with the lightbar? Isn't that a little lame?

The SW version of the mold has always held together better than my DE, who's legs separate and the combiner peg falls out if you so much as look at it funny. While that might not happen with every DE, I'd rather not take the chance.

Yes, DE has issues, that's absolutely true, but Brake-Neck/Wildrider uses the same lightbarless version of the mold and he's much more solid than Deady, doesn't seem to suffer from those problems. One of those weird cases where a reuse of the mold seemed to come out less "degraded" than the initial use of the mold.

In the grand scheme of things, they werent too far apart. I dont think any of them qualify as the first use of the mold since we cant know for sure which toy was produced first. Both were designed by hasbro and planned to be released.

I hope they fix Afterburner, he looks bad to me, with that silly banana windshield. I'd also like some color changes here and there- especially silver hubcaps. :)

Agreed on Afterburner and the colors. I was looking forward to this but as it stands in the picture, I'm probably in the minority and will skip this one.

I don't necessarily hate the way Brakedown's waist works; I think it looks dumb, but functionLly it's not really bad.

Honestly though, that's just the one non hateable thing on one of my least favorite toys ever. I really hate that toy. From his stupid skinny arms that don't move very well to his stupid half-a-car-that-doesn't-transform-and-just-flips-over-his-back car hood that restricts arm movement, to his stupid dis-jointed elbows to his stupid harem pants.

God I hate that toy.

I've found that the Breakdown mold actually isn't too bad as Wheeljack. May be my favorite version of the mold. :MAXIMAL:

I'll be getting the whole set once they bring one for Skylinx. They sent me a 50$ voucher a while back, so this would be the perfect time to use that :D

A few weeks ago, I got Onslaught.
That Bot wrote:In other news, I found an Onslaught last night. Here's my combiner lineup now:
http://i.imgur.com/Q5Jr1Ax.jpg

But my Onslaught seems to have two noticeable flaws. First, his right leg doesn't want to slide all the way in on the swivel tab. I can push it in but it slides back out to where you see in the pictures. i can't find any excess mold flash or other deformities on the peg or inside the slot so I really don't know what's going on here.
http://i.imgur.com/xxSNQYT.jpg
Secondly, his head only sits at a downward angle. Again, it can be moved up (with some force), but it defaults back to "looking down on you". I haven't taken it off the socket yet so I don't know if there's a deformed ball joint causing this or what, but it's annoying. I'm thinking about trying to find another and returning this one or something.
http://i.imgur.com/LycaySL.jpg

And as you can see from the combiner lineup, I still need Streetwise, Blades, Vortex, and Blast Off. Sadly I can't justify spending over $60 for simple redecos right now. Hoping to find a sale.

I finally found another one at a Target and, lo and behold, it had its own set of defects. There was some excess plastic in the left combiner leg socket that was blocking any figure from completely slotting in. When I tried to force it, it forced the panels of the leg apart. And he also had a loose shoulder. Lucky me!
However, not wanting to go through the hassle of buying a THIRD Onslaught and risking more problems, I decided to get innovative. I was able to disassemble the figures a little and mix parts to get one complete, functional Onslaught and one defective one, which I have repackaged and plan to return to the store with an explanation of the problems. Also, seeing how rare the deluxe combaticons are in my area (wave 6 is reaching saturation), their prices on Hasbro Toy Shop ($17 each), and remembering the aftermarket prices I paid to complete Menasor in January (roughly $25 each for two limbs) I bit the bullet and bought Blast Off and Vortex at regular price. So now I have a complete Bruticus.
Image
Image
(it changes from night to day because that was when I discovered my second Onslaught's deformities and had to perform surgery, so I didn't get combined pics until the next afternoon)
Image
Image

In a rare occurrence, especially in recent toylines, my Autobots are outnumbered.
Image
(Feral Rex might be cheating)

Now the only characters I need are Streetwise, Blades, and a replacement First Aid, because his elbow actually broke just today. Fortunately, they're all on Hasbro Toy Shop, AND there's a 20% off + free shipping code that's good through the end of the month: SPRINGFF, which knocks about $3 off each of them. I will grab them soon and finally complete Defensor and my main Combiner Wars collection until Victorion comes out. And then my wallet can rest!

Also those labels for Wheeljack and co are AMAZING!

I love Bruticus. Probably my favorite CW Combiner in this scale so far since Superion. I've been mounting Shockwave on Bruticus' shoulder using Onslaught's visible robot hands... Predator/Impactor Onslaught!

Hey Everyone, I just wanted to share with you a figure that is part of a 'contest' going on here at Toys R Us singapore outlets. Its a special repaint of Combiner wars megatron, and as such should be a hasbro branded product. I've reached out to hasbro.sg to clarify about the manufacturing of the figure, but so far have not received an official response about the product.

Basically the contest details are as follows:

"Be the top spender on transformers products to win an exclusive chromed Megatron figure (Worth $600) "

Contest period 1-31 March 2016

That's it. other than using your starcard, there are no other details about it. And I personally feel the contest is in poor form, as it seems to be a blatant cashgrab. The figure itself is quite nice, with the added detail really showing off the strengths of the figure. And the metallic flakes similar to the masterpiece streaks making it fairly realistic looking.

If this has already been reported or discussed, I apologize, as I don't post here very often.

These are what 'contests' are like here in SG unfortunately. A straight up cash grab, even for an American franchise like toys R us. Walk into any restaurant and be amazed at how the staff are great at ignoring the hell out of you. Once I saw a computer screen at pizza hut that said: "remember to smile at the customer" hahaha.

The worst part about this particular one is that there is no way to track how much you need to spend. Say the second place person spent around $250 or so. the first place person has no way of knowing that, so they might possibly spend $3000 or so to get the figure, when in actuality all they had to spend was slightly past $250. Even a straight up auction for it is way better, that way the losing ones don't have to drop so much money into it.

Nope, those shoulders are some of the ugliest points of articulation that I've ever seen, absolutely loathsome, it was an instant deal breaker - especially when rid megatronus managed the exact same thing and looked epic whilst doing it >:oP

But they are only weird if you pose them in a weird way. I find the design very innovative for having such a complete change of form in few steps. Its quite elegant. And the tank mode is superb. Plus, he is the Hasbro retail toy with the most paint apps of last year, I thought you would appreciate that. Or at least his fabulous headsculpt which is easily the best megatron headsculpt we have ever gotten. Hes also more solid than Mgnus and doesnt feel hollow anywhere.

Granted I got mine for 30$ so I saw it through the rose colour glasses of a 30$ toy. Which was well worth the money.
