How would the groove mold interact with the prime/mm mold though. ..

Bit of retooling?

Just because they're CW mold doesn't mean they should combine, right? FunPub has a couple more, without designated teams:

- Checkpoint out of Offroad (Trailbreaker head)
- Autotroopers out of Offroad ("Hoist" head)
- X-Brawn out of Rook (new head)

Look for SG Prowl and SG Brawn ;)

Yeah but like, this is an entire team of one voyager, four deluxes and one legend, mate - and they're already a team. It was meant to beeeeeeee

One possible configuration. It's more stable than Blackjack as chest armor too.

A little more mixed responses than I expected. Which I think is good and cool.
Not that I thought one would dominate peoples' preferences.
Currently I only have Hasbro's Devastator, and both versions of Menasor.
I completely agree that with the PE add-on kits he is so much improved.
I love the overall look, and without those, he would almost be a letdown imo.

I am probably most excited for UW Computron and Bruticus. I keep looking at pictures of both, and I just think they are absolutely beautiful... I couldn't ask for more with these two.

UW Superion is next on my list to order, and I'm hoping I can get my hands on Groove when he's released here in the states... Hellscream helped me pull the trigger on the decision to get Defensor-- already had Hotspot and Firstaid, and recently ordered Streetwise and Blades from HTS (only $15 each and free shipping).

So besides Devastator, I'm guessing I'll end up ranking them:
1. Bruticus
2. Menasor or Computron
3. Superion
4. Defensor

One more question for anyone interested in sharing--
Can you narrow it down to your favorite 3 individual CW/UW figures (with reasons)?

(if this excludes combined figures, then...)

1: Shockwave, because F$%K YEAH, THIS MOLD ROCKS + secret camera mode :-$

2: Offroad, zombie axe-murderer, and dat teal tho :x

3: Onslaught, just love transforming him, not sure why, it's just so satisfying

Huh, what'd'ya know, all my favorites are :CON:'s, guess that's why I feel so deeply let down by the line :(
I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.

Weapon: Armor Axe
3 Individuals you say?

*cracks knuckles

1) Rook

Well, the best of the best has to be Rook. His vehicle mode has great molded detail and paint, rolls very well, his HFG integrates the best as does his other weapon. also virtually no robot kibble visible and his head, despite being visible, really isn't at all. Transformation is a blast. Robot mode has awesome blue, black, white and silver detailing an he has an awesome head with the Rook chess piece styled top and American football helmet face, plus his symbol on his head. He has the best articulation and even includes ankle tilts. His HFG also integrates all sorts of ways into robot mode and he can do the hulk hands, which is the best thing ever. And he is the best combiner arm as he is just beefy and buff.

2) First Aid

Another no brainer for me. I love the character as a whole but the figure nails it. The vehicle mode has lots of nice red and silver paint overtop the white and the HFG once again stores nicely, as does his axe. He has a tough look to him that lets you know he can get where he needs to go. Transformation is fun and he make the best leg. Nice kneecap, not terribly wide or skinny, and he fills out the whole leg evenly. As an arm he makes for a very hefty and buff piece of work and makes Defensor look like a boxer. Robot mode has nice paint and mold detail and his head sculpt is beautifully IDW.

3) Air Raid

My favorite aerialbot and the best of the fly boys in my opinion. His jet mode looks very sleek and he integrates his robot mode undercarriage better than the rest. His wings are fully posable so you can pull off all kinds of jet attack modes and looks. The wings ability to move a lot helps with arm and leg modes, as he matches the width of the HFG perfectly in both and looks dead sexy. robot mode is a joy too with great detailing, paint, and adjustable wings. He is the ultimate aerialbot.

Now, if we were to include the legends and leaders that are not technically supposed to combine, Ultra Magnus would be #3, but I won't bore anyone with why unless they request it. and torso-bot wise, I give the win to Cyclonus (another one very high up on the list) :MAXIMAL:

Hmm tough call but ill just stick with the ones I own instead of judging from all the figures released.

3) skydive
2) Alpha Bravo
1) Rook

There's not a lot I can say that hasn't already been said about rook but some of it is worth repeating. He's an impressive little deluxe and is a lot of fun to transform and play with and who doesn't like hulk hands.

All collectors owe it to themselves to go out there pick him up.

Voyagers:
1. CW Onslaught
2. UW Scavenger
3. CW Hot Spot

Leader class:

I love lists but I find this one tough. I see the combiner as a whole but if we look at individually purchasable toys I would say:

Frst Aid: I love how thearms fit perfectly into the leg when transforming. Unlike Offroad, there is a jigsaw puzzle feel to it and it's really cool to see the precision used. Also it makes the best leg, I just love that natural knee pad.

Silverbolt: I am not a huge fan of the jet mode due to the whole robot under him but I do love the robot mode and the Combiner Torso. I am so impressed taht they were finally able to have the combiner chest be different than the robot chest and thus get a bunch of different detail from one mode to the next. Takara's paint job brings it out perfectly.

Motormaster: When it comes to solo outings, this is probably my favorite. The robot mode is amazing. Love the headsculpt and he is just this wonderful chunky poseable fellow. I love that truck mode. Its a simple transformation but it works really well. the back legs becoming the back fo the cab works better than most optimus toys. It really looks like a cab bed with the hitch and everything. And yet you get a whole bunch fo nice new robot detail when they become legs. Same for the robot's chest which is all new detail with the vehicle integration taking place in the arms. And the torso is very intimidating. I have the legs going straight down and it makes him look bigger and menacing with his taller stature. And i love that cominer headsculpt, its my faourite of the bunch. You dont want to mess with this guy.

So there you go, my top 3.

I can't pick 3 top figures across all size classes, it's too hard to choose. Instead I'll do my top pick for each size class.

Legends- Bombshell. I like Shockwave a lot too, but I feel Bombshell is the best legends because it fits the smaller character perfectly.

Deluxe- This is really tough but I think I have to pick Trailbreaker. He's a remold of one of the best limbs and his new head and arm really put him over the top for me.

Voyager- Again it's really hard to pick a favorite, especially since the Constructicons fit into this category, but Scavenger ekes out the win for me. He's gorgeously blocky. He's got ankle tilt. And you gotta love a makeshift scorpion tail! My one regret is that I wasn't patient enough to get the UW version. Would have loved to have his individual gun. (plus elbows for the rest of the gang)

Leader- This is easier. Megatron. Aside from is low set shoulders I feel like he's damn near perfect for a non-MP toy. He doesn't have that thin/hollowness other leader toys in this line have either which is why he won out over Thundercracker for me.

I know I cheated the rules, but I just couldn't do it any other way. This line had it's problems but overall it was pretty fantastic and had some very clever(and sometimes not so clever) reuses of molds so it was very hard to choose.

Believe it or not I'm still going to resist getting Rook for my Protectobot team...
I don't like the way he looks, including the headsculpt (which is hugely important for me), and I don't particularly like the look of the alt mode either.

Nice hearing that Firstaid is popular... When I decided I was going to skip Autobots in this line, I only gave into Hotspot, and after really looking over the Protectobot limbs, decided Firstaid was the best of those. I'll still only have 4 Autobots once Streetwise and Blades show up from HTS in the next day or two.

Like WJ88, I think Motormaster makes my top 3 (at least right now).
I always thought he was a BA character.
And I really thought and hoped he would've been released before now... This is a character I've been waiting for for 8-9 years! But I don't think the anticipation has skewed my perspective, I think he's a great voyager figure; that mold seems to be better suited to him than Prime.
The UW version paint job is so choice imo.

Another for me has to be Hook... Always liked him as a character, and how long have we waited for updated Constructicons?!?!?
Yes, his elbows are mehh, but that headsculpt, and the overall G1 look... Classic.

I don't think I have enough figures to really pick a third.
I dig all of the Constructicons and Stunticons, but to pick one of them... Can't do it.

I do have a feeling that Onslaught will make my top 3. I did like the Universe 2.0 version,
but the CW/UW version looks more G1 in both modes, and of course, being part of an actually combiner is icing.
But who knows, the Technobots could be the surprise of the whole line...

Oh, and lastly, I will buy Legends class Shockwave if I ever find him in a store.
I've never had him from any previous line, and I can't pass him up when he works so well with Bruticus.

I resisted too. And it will pay off since not only will I experience that mold with Takara's Nosecone but this coming May, we will all be able to get a Deluxe Groove

I knew it was alright, just wanted to get my post typed as fast as possible. But still appreciated, so thanks!

Am I right that if you have the UW versions of Bruticus, Menasor, Computron, Superion, and Defensor
that there are only two identical alt and bot molds (of course not the paint apps or headsculpts)
Deadend and Wildrider, and Vortex and Blades?

I count that as a difference and just noticed that the 4 blades look really cool on the side of Brut's arm...

So out of the 5 combiners I will end up having, I'll really only have 2 (maybe 4) figures where they are nearly identical in molding...
2-4 out of 25??

This is a huge reason that I cannot complain much (if at all) about this line.
Well done, TT.

And if you get TT Computron, then you still dont get any identical molds since each one of them is either new to the line or a retool (unlike Hasbro where 2 are straight redecos).

EDIT: I swear it said Menasor. You must have been editing when I posted.

Well done, TT.
:APPLAUSE:

And if you get TT Computron, then you still dont get any identical molds since each one of them is either new to the line or a retool.

And I get, some would say that it's really 3 sets of "repeats" because of Blades and Vortex.
But still, 3 re-uses out of 25 figures... I'm good with that!!

Do you think Groove will be sold out on the first day. I want to buy it (and'it's the reason i haven't opened the other protectobots), but I didn't get the preorder on time.

The first times he comes out, the stock might sell out quickly. But he will then be stocked everywhere. I am certain he will be available at one retailer or another for a month.
