That's not correct. Hasbro created the term "Generation 2" for the rebranding of Transformers in the early 90's. It was emblazoned on the packaging for each toy, and the term "Generation 2" was also used for the tie-in media at the time, which consisted mostly reruns of the original Sunbow Cartoon with "Cybernetic Space Cube" scene transitions added and a new ugly 90's CGI opening, which even spoke the phrase "Generation 2." The term "Generation 1" was developed by fans to describe the original toys that came before, but the term became so pervasive and popular that Hasbro and Takara Tomy have officially adopted the term for the original line of Transformers and all associated media, including modern revisits of that continuity family. This can be evidence from "Generation 1" call outs on packaging for various reissues on G1 toys and the subline imprint "G1 Series" for the toys of the latter half of the Universe 2008 line that fit that motif.

1992-1994 G2 TWO
Stick with me now. The next one is a biggie!
2013-present G3 THREE
There! You learned how to count to three today! Yay for you!
So...what do you call the years between 1994 and 2013? Because I'm pretty sure Transformers existed back then.
well i sense some distaste for anything thing Beast era , UT, RiD, Animated , Movie, and to some extent the Aligned related in what Shockblast2 posted above![]()

Which would make this "G3" something he made up. Oops.
LOL....do you know how to count?
If so, G3 should not be too hard to understand. See my prior post if you need help with that.
Official use, vs. non-official aka fan term. Look up my post on the previous page on the matter
You know G1 and G2 were never called that until the fans started the terms, right?
Look at the comics and toy packaging: "Generation 2" started with Hasbro (even if the symbols originated in Europe), so that particular term was official from the very beginning in the US. "Generation 1" on the other hand, can be considered a derivative of that made by fans, but it was still made official by Hasbro years later. Your "Generation 3" does not exist when Hasbro's concerned, and probably never will. Not saying you shouldn't use the term, just understand we don't consider it official.
That's my stance on the matter. Now, I would advise moving that particular subject to a new thread altogether, and keep this thread focused on Combiner Wars.

Anyone he wants (who is a compatible Deluxe sized Combiner Wars figure). A lot of people are hoping for redecoes of the Stunticons as similar looking Autobots to homage the episode of the original cartoon where Optimus and several Autobots attempted to infiltrate a Decepticon operation posing as Menasor.

Doubt it, since people would be expecting another use of the Tailgate/Windcharger mold for that instead, or a redeco into Tailgate and/or Windcharger from any new mold Rook despite Hasbro releasing a new Tailgate and Windcharger so recently.SW's SilverHammer wrote:Sabrblade wrote:According to the rumors, Groove's a Legends; Streetsmart, First Aid, Blades, and newcomer Rook will be Deluxes.
Think it could be a generations version of Universe Rook?

shockblast2 wrote:Sure, but the natural evolution of the current series, which is called Generations, would be G3, since it is the third generation of stand alone figures in their own line. What separates them from classics is the fact that Hasbro purposely set out to redo some of the G1 bots, and even called them that on some of the packaging. That is not the case with the current run, and the fact that they used characters that did not exist in G1 proves that out.
