Could Swindle be done as a retool/reshell/whatever of Off Road?

I also could see Blast Off being another Alpha Bravo retool with wings instead of a prop as others have mentioned, yes it would be odd for two retools of the same mold for Bruticus but considering the returning real team members for Superion and Menasor were also from the same molds as other team members, maybe here they're just going to cut out the newbie mold from the start.

Or maybe not, I guess we'll see.

The Fan-Built Combiner bots will be redecos/retools of the first year molds, because that's what the alt mode choices were limited to.

However, since we're dealing with next year's figures, getting new molds for the Combaticons is a given.

I don't think so. His supposed wavemate is Scattershot of the Technobots, so they'd have consecutive numbers. This is a single.

I said "supposed", as he's still a rumor. Onslaught would still need a wave mate however, unless Combiner Wars will be continuous between 2015 and 2016 with no wave reset: in that case his wave mate could be that white Optimus Prime.

Damm! Bumped from this thread again. What gives? Does this happen when a news post has a different tittle?

Anyway, this is all interesting news. I would love to see a whole fleet of Autobot combiner limbs. If this keeps up, CW might have to get it's own shelf. Barely have enough room left on my CHUG shelf as it is.

Best I've heard is that the missing one is the Ratchet figure we saw the sketch of. That's two new Autobot teams and no new Decepticons, really getting one sided in the deluxe department.

If Soundwave does use the Prime/Motormaster mold it probably won't be recognizable. He probably won't be able to combine with deluxe figures and probably will have an entirely hollow body for tape storage. If we're getting a Stripes figure then SW might also come with Ravage. Also if we're getting Stripes and Rewind we're probably also getting a Blaster repaint of SW.

You watch, Stripes will be a G.I.Joe repaint of another Legends figure to counter Viper. Maybe that rumored green repaint of Warpath.

Plus there's the new Galvatronus. Isn't Optimus supposed to be getting Wheeljack, Ironhide and a couple others as limbs for his combiner mode (or at least that's what I thought I read anyways)? If so, I would expect Galvatronus to get specific limbs as well, maybe classic Decepticons?

The legs are a dead giveaway. They are nearly identical to CW Prime's. On top of that, his body proportions from a previous issue are also similar to Motormaster/Optimus.

The one big difference is the fact that the front wheels on Soundwave are behind his lower back, rather than part of his forearm kibble. I wonder if that is artistic license or a sign that any future Soundwave toy might have a different transformation?

Here, I had a FoC Soundwave and CW Prime lying around I didn't mind mixing up, so here's an unpainted kitbash of what it could look like. I plan on trying to mod the chest and paint it, but I wouldn't mind if it did end up getting released eventually.

Why do you think I mentioned the annual reset?

Each year, the assortments restart with all-new figures: no figures from the previous year are carried over. Being a 2-year line supposedly, Combiner Wars may not do that.

Overall the CW Protectobot team looks pretty good (I forgot to put Groove in this pic lol!!) The least impressive unfortunately is Hotspot!

Getting a strong, Car Robots Fire Convoy, vibe from the CW Hotshot toy. 2016 is Hasbro's RID 15th anniversary. Wonder if Hasbro or TFCC will do a RID Combiner. Using repurposed CW toys.

At one point I had the SDCC FOC Combaticons and the Platinum FOC Combaticons. Got rid of both. Didn't like the sculpting, colors, engineering, scale and hollow toys. Thought these were strike out toys.

Looking forward to the CW Combaticons. These will be my update G1 Combaticons toys.

Picked up Windcharger, Huffer and Powerglide today. Had 4 of the Aerialbots in my hand (Skydive, Firefly, Silverbolt, Alpha Bravo) and put them back as TRU didn't have them at a decent price. I am a BIG fan of them though, they look awesome in bot mode in package!!
