It really pains me after all my years of asking for voyager classed figures in the Generations line for Ironhide, Ratchet and the Seekers (because they really all were small especially the seekers) we're getting LEADER classed Starscream and Thundercracker and most likely more deluxes for Ironhide and Ratchet. And not only that, but they're going to be shoehorned with combiner capabilities...Y'know, the combiners aren't as unique and special when you begin to turn characters who are well known into them simply for one line. I'm sure you guys might enjoy it, but It really bothers me. (And OBVIOUSLY what I say is law and no one else is allowed to have an opinion but ME. Or so I was told.) >:oP

I know, it is an annoyance for collectors and fans, but how many times have TF characters been tweaked for a certain series or show? Not everything has to revolve around G1, it is time for something new. The new Cyclonus coming out soon is not EXACTLY G1 accurate, or comic accurate, but I think the idea of getting the characters you love such as Cyclonus, AND being able to combine them into badass giant transformers is a cool idea. I also love the scramble city concept that they brought back for Combiner Wars, and how Cyclonus uses mind control to bring Bots and Cons it to combine with him, is a VERY cool idea, even though it is not G1 or comic accurate.

Yeah, I think the point here is that these might be fun oddity figures for a grin (regarding the G1 Ark Autobots)... but not at all the end-all perfect classics version. Definitely not for everyone. It is a good way to keep those characters in play (and popular) to newer fans. (Goodness knows Classics Ironhide/Ratchet were quite a while ago... 9 years ago.) Plus it keeps funding Hasbro so they can eventually give us decent unique molds for those characters.

BUT agreed. I still feel like we are owed some better and in-scale versions of a few popular figures including these below... all i bit larger and more accurate to G1, by preference... like they did Hound, etc. Not saying this because everything has to be slavishly G1... but because we've never gotten a good, posable cartoon accurate toy for those characters. They're essentially missing from our shelves in a good form... or at the right size.

Ironhide
Ratchet
Trailbreaker
Hoist
Reflector
Cliffjumper (with a cliffjumper head)
Huffer (not a Prime retool)
Blitzwing (Deluxe to match Astrotrain & Octane)
Broadsides (Springer size or bigger)
Astrotrain (Classics Silverbolt size or bigger)

That said, I'd love it if they could stick with a size for the minibots. With the original being a rainbow of different colors, they could even put them out six at a time so they didn't leave anyone out.

I can dream.

I know! I would love an Astrotrain! I would ask for a Sixshot, but come on! designing something with that many modes AND being a good figure, man that is hard to do!

If you scroll up a bit, I was lavishing praise on the CW line, including its G1 Ark Autobots. I'm trying to provide some very specific constructive input. I do agree too many people are negative, but I hope you aren't lumping me in with those trolls.

Hey man, killer post! It would be perfect for this thread here top-5-transformers-generations-figures-not-made-yet-p1688024.php#p1688024, care to copy/post it there too?

They did make a pretty solid trailbreaker and hoist though, don't you think?

Hey, yeah I really did like their Trailbreaker/Hoist... but putting them in with the other Classics bots like Jazz, etc. they look miniscule... Bumblebee dwarfs their vehicle mode. I know it was part of some cost cutting measures at the time, but it's a huge bummer that they don't scale well.

And yeah, of course! Feel free to repost. Hoping I don't think of any others. Those were just off the top of my head. Heh.

Honestly, I must have been the only guy who's happy with Classics/Henkei Ironhide

Combiner Wars isn't going to last forever folks. Just because some characters are being shoehorned here and there, doesn't mean it's the last time we'll see them in plastic. Keep hope alive, they'll be back in proper form some day. Hell, they're due for the MP treatment too ;)

I'd like to address this. People (even me, I ranted recently) have a tendency to get defensive when the negativity starts flowing. Because it can get a person down. But what can separate one complaint from another, is an explanation. What you posted, I greatly appreciate. you didn't just tell us that you're not into these figures, you explained why. And things like that can open up some great discussion.

And another thing. A bit of imagination working here, but iirc, in Japan, their "Scramble City" schtick, when you mix and match the limbs, you are supposed to get different outputs for the teams. Like, putting Dragstrip and the like who have top speed abilities on the feet makes menasor move faster or vice versa on the arms gives him a multi hit fast punching ability.

Maybe that can meld in with the current fiction?

I like that!

Wonder who'd do what. I'd think Offroad would provide sue footing on treacherous terrain as a leg, and a powerful grip (useful both for climbing and for crushing Autobot armor) as ana rm.

Perhaps the chest plates could have a effect too, beyond just being extra armor, like Blackjack 's cool head and strategic mind ease the mental integration of the Stunticons and give Menasor some small measure of mental clarity.

Ironhide wasn't a part of that combiner, though.

Nor was Sunstreaker.

Or Prowl.

Only Optimus and Mirage were.

Close enough. ;)
In fact, Optimus Prime isn't even a part of this combiner either. Optimus Maximus is.

So really, only Mirage is involved in both.

I've seen the name Optimus Maximus attached to this wave, but I don't recall it ever being announced whether it was for the Voyager or the combined form.

Thanks!

...Obviously, Powerglide and Viper would be fairly standard Targetmasters.

Hmm...

Is it possible that certain members might bring drawbacks as well a strengths? For example, Rook likely is heavily armored, and Defensor might thus be slowed down by the abnormal weight of that leg.
