Ironhide is one of my favorites out of this set. Sure he's a redeco/retool, but he's a really awesome redeco/retool. I love the colors used and the nods to G1 Ironhide. Some people may scoff at buying a retool/redeco, but in this case it's worth it. Recommended!

And while it doesnt scream ironhide, that is an awesome headsculpt in its own right:

Now my issue is do I get Sunstreaker? I have the other 3 from this wave already. But I'm not really that into this version of Sunstreaker.

Now my issue is do I get Sunstreaker? I have the other 3 from this wave already. But I'm not really that into this version of Sunstreaker.

If you really don't like the mold, don't get it, but I get more of a feel of streaker from that, then I do ironhide from this (and I really feel ironhide from this). I'd say grab it, just to have a full set of limbs for op/skylynx - unless you want a fourth from the other ('84) set. Unless you're planning to get them too, in which case get streaker just to round things off.

BUT the initial argument was that all other toys are useless since the MP one is available at the same price. It was written as a blanket statement and it is just plain wrong on multiple levels. MPs in general are a niche product which is sometimes online only for the states (which TRU was going to do with Bluestreak) so taking online out of the argument doesnt make any sense.

No worries, just glad we are all on the same page. But you know, I do have major issues with the MP seeker and I dont know if I am alone. That may give you "more toy" but I find the Leader more fun to play with and transform and I think both modes look incredible. I will discuss more in he MP Ironhide thread since I think people are starting to get double standards for MPs.

I kinda get that, I've never gotten a MP, but do treat my figures more like toys, so I always wondered if they were built to do that. And I have heard some rumblings of the torso being a pain on the mp seekers, a shame, b/c they look really nice.

As for the jetfire mold, does it even have a y-axis movement? Outside of that - and the doofy head that I just cannot like - it really is overly hollow (having owned proper leader class figures from the golden age of the cybertron series) to the point where paying $50 doesn't really feel like you got anything out of it

No one I can think of; and that's the point I've been trying to make with these guys. They may not be slavishly G1 (like we need anymore of that ) but they are unmistakably anyone else (save mirage, not really sure what happened to his head sculpt ) Streaker is obviously streaker, prowl is certainly prowl, and ironhide is himself, so they really are updates, that happen to borrow molds, and gimmicks from other molds - the same goes for the next set.

Ya, my only critique is the young look as well. The more I play with him, the more I like him. You know what I really like? That he is a pick'em up truck and he has a big ol' rodeo s belt buckle. He's putting off a real good ol' boy vibe. He does have a red neck after all.

Ha, I am a sales analyst at one of Canada's big banks, but I am also on the new staff of a transformers website so I am aware of the deals you americans have. Like this one http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/transformers-toy-sales-at-kmart-and-meijer-up-to-50-off/31773/ where leader jetfire was only $22.49. He was also 25-30$ on hasbro's e-bay shop (or was that HTS's e-bay shop) last year. So yeah, the US gets those deals too. Here in Canada, it was Walmart which had him down for 30$. And it wasnt even a temporary sale, it was just his new marked down price.

I left Jetfire on the shelf at £30.00 GBP and bought a Rhinox for just under £13.00 GBP instead.

Jetfire is worth £30.00 more than Megatron is worth £50.00 but he's so often cheap on EBay I thought I'd rather spend a little bit more and get a Japanese one instead - that red Chrome just bothered me a bit to much.

I'm sure this has been discussed before, so I apologize in advance, but as someone who is currently looking at Combiner Wars/Unite Warriors from the outside in, I have one question regarding Cyclonus/ Galvatronus.

OK, I get he is different. His theme is that he doesn't have his own team. He uses "mind powers" evidently to use whatever bots or cons are nearby and forces them to combine with him. This encourages the "mix and match" we probably all did with our Scramble Power combiners anyway when we were kids.

That said however, I would love just for there to be 4 Deluxe Class Decepticons created to create an all new Combiner. I mean we are getting great new Combiners such as Optimus Maximus, Sky Reign in addition to classics such as Superion and Menasor.

I know Japan has had some exclusives such as having a proper (Deluxe Class) Groove for its Defensor, althopugh I know 4 new molds is much more to develop than one, the running theme seems to be retools. Perhaps Tomy/Takara can retool 4 existing Deluxe Class Cons and create a unique team for Cyclonus.

Personally, I think they should repaint and remold CW Powerglide into a stylized Nightstick for Cyclonus, since that Powerglide figure IS a targetmaster now supposedly.

I bought that mold for Menasor but that't it. Plus, with a prime replaced with a cyclonus, that means all limbs and torsos bought from this line will complete combiners with no left overs
