On a more serious note, I probably will display him as Betatron on the shelf so I can save money on Perfect Effect sets (as the OpMax set is more expensive than a standard one).

I noticed that as well. I think its because he comes with some extra torso stuff. They split Superion's and Menasor's into two different sets. Feet and hands in one and torso and extras in the other.

I wanna say the OP set is priced somewhere in-between. I was eye balling the Bruticus set and it appears to have uniquely molded guns that live in the feet.

Those sets look nice, but I have a hard time adding $33 to the combiner teams.

I'm actually fine with everything about the combiners except the feet. I just find the stock hand/feet to be a little too small to be feet. The PE actually look a little too big. I wish I could pick them up a la carte.

I own 1-5, and plan to get 9. I find the feet to be the perfect size if the combiner has bigger legs (like Defensor or Betatron), but a bit too big for Superion (yet he looks good anyway). People say that the hands look kinda skeletal (and they kinda do) but I don't really care about it. Really my only two gripes with them are that the feet are a tiny bit loose, and the hands don't stay in on Superion (but I think that's just issues with Firefly and Alpha Bravo).

I'm not picking up Menasor because 4/5ths of him never actually arrived in this country and the cheapest way of getting him means A: missing out on Offroad (and thus having duplicate limbs on one combiner) and B: having to put up with the unbearably bad UW Stunticon colours (starring Nigh-On Unpainted Breakdown and Cheese Golem Dragstrip!). For a similar reason I'm considering selling off my Superion (and Dragstrip) as I've given up all hope of my Forbidden Planet preorder of Air Raid ever shipping. If for some reason I find the Stunticon limbs for a decent price there's a chance I might get them and pair them up with that new 3P Motormaster that's coming out.

I might- MIGHT- get the UW Superion at a later date, as I quite like the UW colours and as much as I love Alpha Bravo, I intend to pick up UW Bruticus and I don't fancy having effectively 2 Alpha Bravos in different colour schemes (though I'm going to upgrade Vortex with some of SteamShield's Shapeways goodies).

Defensor I definitely want to get, though I'll be going Hasbro for him, for both Rook and the (in my opinion) superior paintscheme.

Scattershot looks blatantly awful. I'll settle for Quantron, when I can afford him.

Whilst I don't care about the standard CW Prime, if I see him for a decent price I might go for Battle Core Optimus Prime as I do like his colour scheme, though I'll be making him into a new character. As for his partners (if I combine him with anyone) I was thinking basically anyone predominantly white/black.

Victorion I'm waiting to see what Takara does with her. As it stands, the Hasbro version looks pretty dreadful.

Hasbro Cyclonus I quite like, but not enough to get. Takara Cyclonus I really, really like, almost as much as the Universe 2.0 version (which is on my "to-buy" list once I've downsized my current collection) and I love his limb-bots. I might get him, but I probably won't combine him with them though- Thrust will probably be replacing UW Blast Off if he sucks, Roller will possibly get an Autobrand and go with BCOP, Breakdown will go with the Stunticons and Starscream will go to my mum, as she finds the idea of Ghost Starscream so hilarious that she has instructed me that if I ever find a Ghost Starscream for a sensible price that I am to get him for her.

Sky Lynx I love and will probably get. He'll be going with my Legends display though and will never see combined mode, unless I can customize up some "in-scale" limb-bots to go with him.

Mirage, Ironhide, Sunstreaker, Smokescreen and Wheeljack I have no interest in. Prowl I MIGHT get if I get BCOP. Trailbreaker and Hound I'm planning on getting for custom fodder (Trailbreaker into Strongarm and Hound into Rollbar).

I like the looks of the PE feet but the hands ain't doing it for me. BC OP, Bruticus and Defensor will definitely get the feet- the others I'm not sure about.

I think they made Scattorshot just to have a second voyager in the Combaticon wave. I think Takara may make a UW version of the Technobots with the LIMBS however because Takara Tomy is amazing.

The quality is confirmed to be there. The only difference is that the ko version of superions feet has painted gattling guns.

Ko has as much its place in the hobby as 3p. I would love to see any 3p company sue a ko company over stealing their intellectual property

Nah. Whilst the legality of 3P stuff can be brought into question due to the finicky nature of IP, they are actually doing the engineering and design work themselves- they aren't just cloning HasTak's molds or anything, and all their work is from a tangible point of view original. KO makers on the other hand literally just clone other people's hard work without putting in any original work themselves and profit off of actual, undeniable theft.

Smokescreen and Wheeljack just look awful- like, cheap knockoff levels of awful. Wheeljack I'd like if he had more paint to be fair, but poor Smokescreen! At least Wheeljack had a proper reshell- Smokescreen is just Streetwise with a new head and new colours.

Hound and Trailbreaker I like. Admittedly I'll be getting them as custom fodder most likely (Hound into RID Rollbar and Trailbreaker into RID2015 Strongarm) but regardless, they look great. And Trailbreaker's handfootgun looks excellent! I'm really liking the 2-fingered clamp look they went with.

I'm guessing that hand/foot is supposed to pop into Trailbreaker's backpack with the fingers out to give that classic Trailcutter look. I've seen in another picture where the thumb appears to fold completely flat.

Wow! I want SkyLynx. I'm an 80's kid and Space Shuttle lover, so this is awesome! I can't help but wonder if Takara's version will be any prettier with metallic/pearlescent white, and possibly vac-metal/gold-chrome cockpit windows/eyes & lynx-head, and shinier/deeper red & blue plastics.

The only thing that I hate is the ugly slotted/box-grater plastic of his wing undersides, they really need to STOP doing that garbage!

I must state that though I detest Hasbro's profuse/repetitive overuse of molds in this line, and the horrible implementation of hollow/slotted plastics, that the overall head/face-sculpts for these figures have been absolutely spot-on beautiful for nearly every figure. I own the CW Protectobots, Stunticons, and Constructicons, Ultra Magnus, Optimus, etc. and all of these have great, G1 cartoon or comic accurate faces/heads. The only one I have reservations about is Dragstrip with his jagged evil-scarecrow mouth and stubby "ears" and MotorMaster' s un-painted eye-holes.

Otherwise, the Combiner Wars and the Generations line before it have had the most beautifully rendered G1 accurate faces I have seen (outside the Masterpiece line. of course).
