What? The Masterpiece line? Never heard of it.

I call bullsh*t because it is a cut and paste of some text that anyone could have randomly typed up. Why create two new molds when you could just repaint two and release them? Doesn't make sense.

rumble/frenzy = TFCC eject/rewind
so yeah, it does happen on occasion.
However, all of those molds were made by Hasbro, even if some of them weren't released by Hasbro or weren't released in those particular decos.shockblast2 wrote:They do not do that historically. Did we see Senator Rat Bat? Prime Ironhide? AOE Stinger? DOTM Soundwave? RTS Rumble & Frenzy? Scores of others. Again, doesn't make sense.

also, this situation makes perfect sense. hasbro already has a lot of peoples money for AB. and a large amount of them will buy a fifth limb if its the correct one. also dont discount the fact that IDW has generated an actual fanbase for these new characters. some have already stated that its nice to have a proper(ish) slingshot, but theyre perfectly happy with AB.
personally, ill still be buying AB and the other guy.

We got Ratbat's mold when it was first released as Scourge, and we'll be getting the Ratbat head a TFSS Serpent O.R.
We got Prime Ironhide's mold when it was first released as Prime Sergeant Kup.
DOTM Soundwave did get released in Hasbro's Asian markets.
The Rumble/Frenzy mold was going to be released at the end of the Reveal the Shield line a "Demolition Rumble", but it got canceled even though the mold was completed. But, we did get it as TFSS Revwind and Eject (with remolded heads).
Takara might have released them, but only because Hasbro had already made them.
Thus far, Takara hasn't made any new molds or remolds for their counterpart lines of Hasbro's Generations line (meaning United, Japanese Generations, or Legends), so it's likely that Takara's Unite Warriors release of Sling will just be a straight redeco of Hasbro's Generations Firefly. But if it does have a new head, then chances are Hasbro's will as well since Hasbro (not Takara) seems to be the brains behind the Generations molds and remolds.
And who knows? Hasbro's Slingshot might just be the Firefly mold too.
Well, I don't know about Hasbro putting out Slingshot and Wildwider as exclusives (I'd figure they'd just wanna put them out in the main line at mass retail), but should Hasbro put them out, I wouldn't expect that to happen based solely on Takara releasing their own, but more on longterm planning on Hasbro's part. I'd imagine that Hasbro if Hasbro were to release their own, they would so because they wanted to, not because of Takara making their own.shockblast2 wrote:The suggestion is that because Takara potentially is rumored to release Slingshot and Wildrider in their line, that they will release it here. And yet, there is not one single example that backs this up historically as fact. If you can come up with an example of a Generations, Prime, AOE, or DOTM figure that was released over there and then here as a exclusive, then that would be a good point. Reaching by pulling examples that use the same mold, but a different character, is irrelevant to the point I made.

So, where'd the notion of "Hasbro might do it because Takara is doing it" that you're arguing against (and on which I don't disagree with you) come from?

have i been harping that G1 is alive and well? i sure dont recall. maybe the last time said anything on the subject was in regards to your completely made up G3 notion. i might add theres many more supporters on my side BTW.shockblast2 wrote:You harping that a dead line is still alive and well AND trying to claim that every Generations release is some sort of classics redux is getting old. Slingshot is dead and Wildrider doesn't exist in IDW, so that point is irrelevant.
JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:And here I was thinking the news would be well-received. Tell me, what would be inherently wrong with Hasbro releasing Slingshot and Wildrider, even if they end up as straight redecos with new heads and as exclusives (I will admit Wildrider would be hard to swallow as such though)?
Short and to the point answers please.

every iteration of transformers has G1 influence. some of them (like the classics/generations lines) are HEAVILY based on G1. how you can look at CW/classics/generations and claim theyre not a redux of sorts is beyond me.
we all get it. the G1 line i long finished.
but G1 is still very much alive.
