Sounds lame, change it to my and MGrotusque's thing.

Behemoth?

Secret Auxiliary Reserve, story behind it is after becoming so badass, you retire, but still have the ability to become part of the Gestalt team.

So... R.E.D.?

Something like that, but Auxiliary makes it sound cool.

Besides, why would I kiss up to WJ? Better to grovel at the feet of a mod like Burn or Va'al. (and Va'al is so dreamy)

look guys. Alpha Bravo has always been an Aerialbot, we have always been at war with Gobotia, and gold plastic syndrome is a lie told by insurgents trying to undermine the glorious cybertronian homeland. That said, Defensor's stumpy gorilla legs make me want to get 4 offroads and make CW optimus primal, the truck monkey.

I remember further back someone suggested it would be nice if Rook was retooled into Breacher but I have to wonder why Hasbro didn't just use Breacher as the name of the new Protectobot to begin with? Is Breacher already in the comics as his own character with no way to become a Protectobot, because Rook's alt is basically Breacher. :???:

I also have to agree with the sentiment that Groove is an ugly bot. I really don't like how the legs are over-extended by the feet. I wonder if this is a mistransformation and the feet do collapse into the shins. That would solve the problem for me and perhaps make me consider getting him if he stays in place on the chest. :-?

Its because they wanted to create a new charcter. If they used breacher, he would be based (at least in name) on an older character and they wanted something completely new.

Would it work with Offroad, First Aid, Ironhide and Swindle (assuming he's another use of the mold)?

Fair enough. And they can make another use of the mold down the line either for everyone or as an exclusive. But I still think they should have just used Breacher the same way I wish they would have made Powerglide a limb instead of a gun. Though the PG mold will lead to people army building with Viper, so I see why Hasbro made that choice as well.

I love new characters. AB is a cool addition to the Aerialbots and I can easily imagine ways a helicopter could help a team of jets. In fact I'd be interested to see what a voyager helicopter would like as a combiner. The rotors could be swords. That would be cool. 8)

Regarding Rook, Breacher is a new character from a different continuity and would be a new Protectobot, to my knowledge, so I'm just questioning why Hasbro didn't take a new toy who was a very popular mold and upgrade him. No right or wrong here. :PEACE:

Defensor looks really good, much better than Menasor. Unfortunately I will probably only get one and right now it looks like it will be Superion. I simply don't have the space for all these figures.

Brief serious comment before I extinguish myself for the night: Defensor still does not do it for me. Unless something amazing happens after this, I think Superion will indeed be the only CW figure I will own, with the addition of Legends Windblade (and no Powerglide, messed with him, wasn't that impressed, gave it back to my brother).

That Rook, however, does look really quite fun. :D

I am also glad that people who objected to Alpha Bravo as a character can still enjoy the fun little mold that the figure brings to the line with Blades. ;)

I don't have any place to store my Transformers for full time public viewing so most of them are stored in shoe boxes. On the plus side I don't have to deal with dust or worry about sunlight yellowing white figures.

Nope, I love Alpha Bravo and Offroad and will probably like Rook once I see more about his personality.

Alpha Bravo is a rookie that is too sure of himself. I hope he starts to display some of Slingshot's personality as a result of the combined consciousness bleeding into him.

Offroad being a new member that has the audacity to take the color scheme of a lost Stunticon is cool. There is more to him than he lets on. I think it would be cool if he was Ruckus, but stole Wildrider's color scheme and is using a new name.

Rook isn't a usurper, he is just an additional member. I always thought Groove being the size of a helicopter was pretty stupid, so having Rook be a new limb and Groove moved to the chest(gonna figure out how to make him an arm mounted shield though) works quite well for me.

Don't let the haters get to you. They are just behaving worse than the age group these toys were actually designed for.

That's cool. Menasor doesn't do anything for me due to the flaws with Motormaster as a core figure. It's a shame the engineers couldn't make the mold work as a torso because the figure looks great as a standalone.

And I really like AB. It seems I'll have three of him with different heads and paint schemes. I wish Blades would have gotten new forearms better fitting a rescue chopper, but oh well, it is what it is, ugly face and all. Still looks great as part of Defensor for me.

All that said I won't be getting a Decepticon gestalt this year which would greatly disappoint me if I wasn't falling in love with the Protectobots as individuals. And Hotspot looks like a solid torso so I'm planning on picking up a gestalt I never owned as a child, never cared for as a child, and only played with Hotspot as a child at a friend's house. Plus Bruticus comes out next year, so I just have to be patient.

In other words, Hasbro still wins by getting me to purchase two gestalts before the end of the year, and at least one gestalt next year. :HEADHURTS:

Arm forms or hand mode for the hand/foot piece? I think arm form for legs would be make them a bit too long. Could be wrong. I don't have the figures to be sure.
