I'm SO drooling over the thought of a Leader sale... Armadatron and Thundercracker will be mine. Have you seen TC yet? Its physically painful to pick him up and have to put him down-Kanrabat- wrote:Oh, that Megs WILL be on sale at 30$. I'm sure of it. And when the time come, I will get mine.

Yeah, I am really begging for a sale too. And I havent seen TC at TRU, but he was around the same retail price at that collector store I first found him at and I didnt pick him up then.
Also, fair warning, shipping a leader box from canada to australia will be a real B!TCH for price. As much as the figure itself.

Canada post prices are indeed VERY expensive. It's expensive enough within Canada and to the USA.
You can just forget it for international... unless you are willing to take your chance for a 2 months voyage by boat without any tracking numbers. Even then...

Getting Magnus to hold his guns well is pretty easy.
The handles for both weapons have a small tab at the bottom of the grip.
If you open his hand, and place the grip against it, the notch between the trigger and this bottom tab is exactly the width to slide right over his bottom 3 fingers. This means he can close his hand fully and the weapon is held in place by friction.
I even did the rattle test with him after doing mine. Nothing fell out. Both weapons held in great in either hand.
I have photos I can post if anybody needs to see what I mean, but it'll have to wait until 12:30 GMT when I take my lunch, as I'm currently at work.
For the record, this absolutely works. Thank you for resolving my only real issue with the figure.
I noticed that some of the early reviews complained about the crotchplate dragging on the ground in vehicle mode. It is true that it will drag...if you haven't fully transformed Ultra Magnus. When you pull the cab away from the trailer, it raises the trailer up a bit, allowing the crotchplate to clear the ground.

For anyone stateside still having trouble getting Magnus, Hasbrotoyshop surprisingly sill has him in stock.
While we're on the subject of Ultra Magnus, I think this one's a prime example of why gimmicks are not necessarily bad. If it weren't for Minimus Ambus in the driver's seat (and, to a lesser degree, the hammer made of guns), this figure would be a lot less interesting.

If it wasn't for Minimus Ambus we'd probably have a transforming cab instead which makes him just as interesting.

Prime, aside from being the symbol of heroism like Abe Lincoln (and also an equally great warrior and strategist), UM does the dirty work on Cybertron when Prime was away. Making do with limited logistics and a drought of energon......now who really did the most? (Prime is still numero uno btw) but UM really needs to be given his just recognition...........MP UM and CW just good examples and CR GM was the begining but TFA got the ball rolling.
UM needs some love too people.

TFA Prime was too uptight. He felt more like a bureaucrat.
Now, G1 Marvel UK Ultra Magnus, he didn't take crap.
IDW Magnus is a bit in between, stickler for bureaucracy, but more than willing to bust heads when he has to.

It also apparently takes a full week for a package to go from Shipped status with a Vancouver-based e-tailer to actually make it into Washington state, before taking the rest of its journey to me, which apparently will take USPS until the 20th. Assume it had to go through Customs or something? Had I known, I might have just ordered from one of our state-side e-tailer importers and shortened the shipping time considerably.

Don't forget, occasionally retailers will mark something as "shipped" when they really mean "boxed up and ready to go" - BBTS once took 6 days to get from that point to actually being picked up by the postal service for one of my orders.

That explain why some of my Ebay orders get magically "shipped" barely a few hours after I pay. Even around 2AM in _their_ time zone!

Hmm, interesting. This was Ages3andUp, so I chalked it up to import/customs delays. If it's just "Shipped but not actually shipped" status like you described, then do retailers realize it's actually bad for business in the long run to do things like that? Unless you have market control by way of unique, exclusive items that can't be gotten elsewhere, the person sitting there watching the product they paid for take an extra week to arrive will remember that experience and shop elsewhere in the future.

Seriously, is it that too hard or expensive to create a core robot transformation sequence for a UM?
It's not that I have anything against Ultra Magnus (His Prime incarnation, in particular, is pretty badass for someone with a huge stick up his exhaust port).
It's just that the toy would have otherwise been just another G1 rehash, and probably overshadowed to hell and back by his Masterpiece counterpart, but the gimmicks I mentioned made it unique.
For the record, Magnus has wound up being the only Leader-class Generations figure I've been interested in so far, so I'm certainly not intending to diss him.

Thundercracker was found in canada and for this year, both countries are pretty much alligned in terms of releases. Almost as if Canada is just another state which sometimes gets things a bit earlier or later.
