Here we were breaking our heads trying to figure out how Gulf/Skalor's tail works... turns out it merely partforms into another gun. #-o

The fist does function as a stand it seems. And look at that, the big sword splits into smaller weapons for the limb-bots, like Victorion's.

This is the moment that many of us have been waiting months for! Takara Tomy Mall has begun taking pre-orders on the first two Japanese Transformers Generations Selects Seacons, Turtler (Snaptrap) and Gulf (Scalor). As expected they're being sold as singles, but are also available in pairs with this duo being designated "wave 1" (no pun intended I'm sure). And along with the pre-orders come our first colored stock photos. They're looking great with decos fairly accurate to the original figures including an appropriate use of chrome on Turtler's shield. And, yes, Gulf has a gun mode! The combiner peg appears to stick in the back of the hand part with the hand peg becoming the handle.

The price is set at ￥11,124 (about $104 USD) and scheduled for release in late January 2020. Photos can be found below, but that's not all! We're also given our first new comic entry featuring Galvatron, Turtler, and non other than Beast Wars II Halfshell. Perhaps they're already planting seeds for a future repaint? Too early to say since his design is still based on the original figure, but it sure would be great!

They are. Other online retailers like BBTS and TFSource tend to get a hold of TTM exclusives.

Would you look at that. I have an account with TTM and the special news letter they sent out for the figures started with a link to the two pack, but scrolling further down it does have links to the individuals. I'll update that really quickly.

Looking forward to this comic's translation. Did including the BWII space-pirate Seacons make someone think "One Piece homage", so they had Galvatron eat devil-fruit? It sort of reminds me of that April-Fools comic page where he was eating sheep.

Great to see official gun modes, but now I'm wondering if they'll each have stands, or capture the spirit of Siege and be interchangeable Targetmasters for any Cons strong enough to pass around.

I mean. You're more knowledgeable on the whole about all things, but it seems like something that will be on Pulse eventually.

The product pages call them TakaraTomy Mall exclusives.

Star Convoy is as well, but he's also coming to Hasbro Pulse as a direct import similar to how BBTS and TFSource also sell TTM exclusives. We'll have to wait and see who all will get to carry these Seacons as imports.

Here's hoping for Beast Wars II Seacon Space Pirates set!

Still makes me bummed that we never saw a G1 toy Gestalt set at BotCon (or other convention) featuring BWII "Nautilator" alongside G1 versions of Rook, "Blast Off", Alpha Bravo and Offroad. Now that would have been an amazing set. Ah, one day!

Wow, I hadn't thought of a G1 Motormaster as Optimus Prime before. That would be pretty awesome. I'd love some retroactive G1 toys as their Combiner Wars selves. Optimus would make a great addition, especially in a gift set with the other figures to give those characters their proper G1 toys. Heck, with the Motormaster mold we'd even get a Roller mini figure as well for the "Optimus Maximus" chest piece. Any of this would be something fun to see done with this brand!

The Seacons look decent enough, though I have no real attachment to the G1 Seacons so I probably won't buy them. However, Chris McFeely's video on the Seacons made Half-Shell the Space Pirates sound like great characters, so if those repaints are also on the way I might try to get them.

They're perfect. Absolutely perfect. I might actually pre-order these- modern Seacons have been on my want list for years now, and I could never justify the TFC ones (though I do kinda want their Tentakil by himself).

Takara tomy mall exclusive only means 1 thing:

That is the only Japanese retailer that will have it.

And thats all it means, it does not account for anyone outside Japan having it, which is usually the case.
