I think the question inferred mainline IDW continuity. Not offshoots... ;)

Meanwhile his rival's a big fat lumberer of a dino; he's got a huge amount of mass from head to toe. If anyone was expecting Trypticon to be the same height as Metroplex, they were really getting their hopes up.

trypticon needs to be bigger than metroplex

Exactly! People who voted for him didn't have him being a shrimp to Metroplex and Fort Maxx in mind, regardless of his girth....

That being said, Hasbro's version is still not a deal breaker. But I don't see Takara selling a lot of these over in the US or anywhere else that the Hasbro version at $75 less is available.

isnt that how it should be though? Hasbro makes toys for their market and takara does toys for theirs and there is no need to import on either side because we have quality toys coming from both companies?

yeah but some people like the takara deco better even tho the changes they made are probably not the best imo. that green is an eyesore.
and theres cases like devastator who was changed.
it all depends on what color scheme you want.
its sad that hasbro gets blamed for all the cheapness when takara designs a lot of the figures.

If by not limited, you mean available online everywhere, because I never saw one at a B&M ever. Fair enough CW Dev is still available at BBTS for retail price, but if you are in the U.S. looking in stores, he was not in my area at least.

Also I’m surprised nobody is talking about the fact that since the TT mall video broke this weekend confirming Trypticon’s height as only 45 cm (just under 18 inches) –Basically the same size as CW Devastator, that he will not scale in size properly to Generations Metroplex or Fort Max.

It appears the blunder of the 80’s (Scorponok and Fort Max size mismatch) is about to be repeated in 2017! :(

On the mark O. Thanks to Hb's efficient distribution system, the Hb worldwide distribution is the epitome of efficiency that will be enough to short circuit Shockwave's happy zone!

And wj88, you always speak in absolutes. >:oP You DID read my statement "not sure if this is applicable to the Hb worldwide market".

As for limitations, it has always been a marketing effort to sell more bad guys over good guys. Who sells more? Optimus or Megatron?

Devs is iconic for TF fans. A whole different situation.

I can't imagine Trypticon being limited in particular compared to the other Titans; considering all the money Hasbro put into him and how much of a fuss they made about him at Toyfair and such - just like every other Titan they put out. They make sure they're a big event, a toyline centerpiece. Don't think that'll be any different just because he has a Decepticon insignia.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but do we know yet the differences between Hasbro and Takara, and any other special convention versions? I'm cheap so I'm going with Hasbro regardless, but was just curious.

The only real difference that we know of so far is one small grey paint application on the white cannons in the back. Any other difference can be due to lighting of stickers applied on one version and not on the other.

Just wait until the actual Hb is released. The Takara one more or less will be using a slightly different shade of PVC ABS looking more like the original toy.

Basing this inference on Takara Metroflex and Fortress Maximus

Are you sure? From what we've seen of in-hand images both will basically be the same as far as plastic goes. Takara thus far doesn't appear to be sticking to any particular likeness so no chrome like they did for Metroplex (just dull silver paint) and the inaccurate green claw joints seem to be staying.

I know what inference means, and we all had originally come to the same assumption, but it goes against the actual evidence we've seen to the contrary that I'm sure you've seen so why bother guessing?

By your own statement so far "doesn't appear". Too bad the recent Takara advert online doesn't have a side by side comparison. Lots of thing happens. Images presented tend to be different from what appears in reality and from the PC monitor. Again there is precedent with Metroflex and Fortmax. Sure no chrome but the color of the plastics which cannot be accurately presented by PC monitors "may" be different.
Case in point Takara Jetfire and Hb Jetfire. I know one poster in seibertron stated the whites are the same. No it ain't. I have both and Takara used a whiter version of plastic.

So I am making an informed guess aka an inference that this will be repeated again. If I'm wrong, not the end of the world as I'm already committed to getting the Takara version from JP (not too interested in the coin that will come from the Asia version) as it is the most practical means for me to secure the big lizard.

P.S.

Addressed to all members out there, do buy the lizard anyway. Regardless of market focus (JP or Int'l version)

This gives Takara and HB the incentive to kill our wallets 8-} with the next Titanmaster, hopefully it's Scorponok though Omega would also be great.

Box Art for Transformers Titan Class Trypticon

Postby Va'al » Sat Apr 29, 2017 2:11 pm

Motto: "Till All Are Pun!"
Via the regular channels, and by that we mean Weibo users, we have a first look - though not too much in detail - at the box art for the upcoming Generations Titan class Trypticon, along with Titan Master Necro and the smaller sized Full-Tilt, making the Decepticon set a one purple space t-rex army! Check it out below.

Some users have rightly pointed out that this seems to differ from the first look at the art, which we saw here. Let us know what you make of the additions in the Energon Pub!

Relax, the price hikes are only for the Movie lines at the moment, and there's no way Hasbro can raise the MSRP for other lines mid-line. Wait until Power of the Primes. ;)
