Hall of fame isn't really a big deal to me, but it gave me something to talk about while I was bored. (Be cooped up in a house a lot and mundane things suddenly become entertaining.)

I don't take the HOF seriously as a solemn shrine for toys. What I do take seriously is having a fans vote, where fans take the time to vote, and it gets ignored anyway. Pro Wrestling does this; Hasbro ain't the WWE. Hasbro also has a history of ignoring fan votes too.

While I largely agree...we're on a website dedicated to toys (and cartoons/comics/movies.) WTH are any of us as adults doing taking any of it as seriously as we do? But you're right, the whole thing is contrived from the word go...and further, as of yet, there's really no significance to any of it beyond having an event they can bleed even more money out of us for...(did I mention there was nothing $45-worthy about it?) I guess my only concern with any of it is it possibly leading to them wasting a mold/molds in a Classics-style line on more terrible Beast Wars figs...which I don't have to buy, but would I rather have a Waspinator fig or a Classics Hoist fig? Lemme think about it...

I met Marcelo Matere at Botcon and bought this fantastic full page piece of art of Waspinator from him. Really nice guy btw. I had no idea it was the box art pictured in this article. Makes it all the more special.

Sometimes its fun to take fun stuff "seriously". I think a lot of you are taking the more serious comments on here too seriously, people are just saying whats on their mind, doesn't mean they're going to hold a school for puppies hostage over it.

D-340 gets what I mean, nice to know i'm not the only one. In any case, I don't really care at the end of the day, but if a character I nominated DID win, thats pretty cool, coz the next time I'm showing off my collection, I can add that to the description of the favoured bot.

Oh, I agree with you there Burn. Orci and Kurtzman are equally to blame. And yeah, they are hacks.

Good choice not attending. I mean, it was a decent time, just nothing about it warranted the $45 price. The Hasbro dudes said some thank yous, they showed little video clips of all the HOF guys, Michael Bay spoke about coming on board to do the movies and accepted his HOF award, they showed about 15 minutes of the movie (which was actually really impressive in 3D...visually speaking, anyhow), and you got a stupid mask that you'd never buy if it were at retail as well as some stale popcorn, bag of peanut M&Ms, and a bottle of water. And then you got a couple promo posters as you left.

It woulda been cool had it been free. It woulda been cool had they played the entire movie. But for $45 there just wasn't enough to it to make it feel worthwhile and the stuff you did get was pretty much junk.

thanks for the review. I had a feeling it wouldn't be worth $45. (A lapdance by megan fox would've helped -lol). The $10 I spent plus gas was well worth it for TFTM 25th anniv. screening on Sunday. Wally Burr, dan gilvezan, G. berger, N. Ross, Paul Eiding, and Daniel's voice all made for a good discussion afterward. One of my fave Q&A's of all time

Transparency? I just started reading this thread, so this is for some of the earlier posts: for those concerned, for what it's worth, a staff member on the way back up the elevator after HoF mentioned Erector lost by only 3% of the votes.

And like some of the the other Waspinator voters, even a 'nother friend of mine has said....We weren't nearly as vocal about our votes as the Erector guys were, though apparently just as loyal....good grief, a poster and pins? XD That made me lawl so hard during the con.

I love the transfandom. For all it's wackiness.
