How is the DNA kit? I'm not sure it adds enough to warrant a purchase for myself. What're your thoughts?

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...
Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.

Installing DNA...sooooo, you're a gene splicer? Can you clone me so I can stay home and get the extensive honey-do list done and send a clone to the clinic to see patients? Or better yet, three clones: one for spare organs, one to do the wife's list, and one to see patients...

Emerje wrote:Unfortunately I can't recommend it. It was the biggest headache I've ever experienced doing an upgrade kit.
He does look OK standing, but for what this kit cost and how janky it is (and not being able to reverse one of the replacement parts) it's just no good.

-Kanrabat- wrote:The DNA Design kits are WORTHLESS. Especially for the price paid. Often, they require disassembly with iffy results.
If one wants some upgrade kits, go for the Chinese indy who 3D print the stuff. So far, the best ones are found at Nonnef, and AliExpress DP Robot Store.

Thank you for the write up. Sounds like an outright devil of a set. I appreciate it!Damn shame. I have the Galvatron one, which was decent enough, though I didn't use the leg extenders.

I've only had one DNA kit (the aforementioned Galvatron) and it was alright. I ordered the RiD Scourge upgrade and as far as I can tell, they never bothered releasing it... I HAVE ordered the upgrade kit for animated Prime. I hope it'll be decent.
Thank you for the recommendations though! I'll check their stuff out!

Transformers Legacy Evolution poster, 2020. This was a project where the individual elements were drawn by another artist. I did the color rendering of each character/environment piece, then assembled them all into this layout and added the effects necessary to make it cohesive.

Didn't we see some prototype shots at least? Or some more detailed artist renders? I remember seeing some images of the new Straxus and being disappointed it wasn't the OG. Of course that's been corrected since.Emerje wrote:Déjà vu but it's nice to see what the whole poster would have looked like if they kept this going. I image there must have been more art made of this "new" design, maybe without the cloak, I'd really like to see that if it ever gets released.

The contents of the post of mine from back then that you linked to is all that we have seen.Emerje wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:Didn't we see some prototype shots at least? If we did then I totally blanked it out which would be strange, I usually remember this sort of thing and it's only been since November.

I'm afraid you're mistaken, for it is actually based on the Hasbro toy concept for Animated Powermaster Optimus Prime, whose wings were inspired by those of God Ginrai (Cybertron Optimus's wings were already a homage to God Ginrai, too).-Kanrabat- wrote:This thing is a mix between the "upgraded" form of Optimus at the end of the last animated season and Cybertron Optimus.

The design was published at mass retail fourteen years ago. It's not some big impenetrable secret.-Kanrabat- wrote:I don't call that a "mistake" for not knowing a trivia only the hardcordest of the hardcore can know.

Here's the double-page spread of it from the AllSpark Almanac II (open in new tab to see full size):
Magazine? It was 224-page lore book. Its contents were even reprinted in 472-page Complete AllSpark Almanac in 2015. This site has had dozens of news posts about the Almanac series:-Kanrabat- wrote:There's a huge difference between an article published in some magazine barely anyone knows about (14 years ago, no less!) and a TV show that was broadcasted all over the world, with a toyline , and several references and remakes.
Is this not your post from 2015, responding directly to that Powermaster concept art?-Kanrabat- wrote:I've been on this forum since 2010. Not a single soul ever mentioned that abandoned Animated design before you did TODAY.

It makes me want to buy two of Legacy Animated Optimus. One to have in his normal body, and a second one with the Powermaster upgrade.-Kanrabat- wrote:Sabrblade wrote:I know the feeling. Regardless, I'm pretty happy to see a wish granted, even though I completely forgot about it.
