Been outta the thread for a while, sorry if this is rehashing old questions. But I've been thinking.

Has there been an official statement saying there is without a doubt, no Transformers 6 coming? Or is this all speculation because of the roadmap thingy? Was the word "reboot" used by them officially somewhere?

If they were planning to scrap everything, why did they go ahead with the BB movie?

I wonder, if the BB movie is successful, that they'll reconsider scrapping TF6 :-?

Without knowing the specifics, I can only assume they are moving ahead with the BB film because it's too far along. Ready for release this year and with pre-arranged toys, merchandise etc I wouldn't have thought TF6 is that far along.

Pretty much what allnewsuperrobot said. It seems that tf6 being scrapped is very recent, compared to bumblebee, which is in postproduction now (I think shooting is finished but I could be wrong) there's a lot of money that would be lost from abandoning bee. If bee does well it just shows them that a solo bumblebee movie does well and that new director is essential.

Not quite, from what I can understand, they are doing Bumbleebee movie and then they dont have anything ready,to film back to back, like other film franchises.
They are considering a change of direction, but not necessarily starting all over.

I submitted this to news section, but since I got no response,I will post this here:

The safe bet would wait the Bumblebee movie to get news.

That article was later confirmed to be a misquote. Bleeding cool lied to get hits and TFW2005 quoted it and then had to do some damage control. We just avoided it altogether and stuck with the facts.

You guys can hear the actual interview where hasbro clearly mentions that the movie universe will be rebooted in the last half hour of the podcast here: https://www.seibertron.com/transformers ... 018/40737/

Paramount Officially Removes Seventh Transformers Live Action Film From Schedule

Postby Va'al » Thu May 24, 2018 1:59 am

Motto: "Till All Are Pun!"
The first story we posted on this topic dates back to February, just before Toy Fair, as a Hasbro call reported a Paramount and Hasbro project due in 2019, but nothing specific to Transformers after the release of Bumblebee in December 2018.

A slide was shown with all Hasbro produced films slated to appear until 2021 with Bumblebee in the forefront and then GI Joe in 2020, Micronauts in 2020, Dungeons and Dragons in 2021 along with an unnamed Paramount/Hasbro film in 2021. Notice the total absence of he previously revealed Transformers VII movie.

Image

According to a number of sources, such Collider and The Wrap, we now have official confirmation from Paramount directly that there will indeed be no further Transformers live-action movies in the coming years - until the alleged reboot takes place, that is - once Bumblebee is out. According to Deadline, the latter will in fact shape the reboot, as many hints have been leading towards in previous stories and updates. Let us know what you think in the Energon Pub!

In addition, the Melrose lot has undated Transformers 7 from its previous date of June 28, 2019. In its place, Paramount will release the Tiffany Haddish comedy Limited Partners on that date. Paramount had hatched a writers room led by Akiva Goldsman to hammer out future iterations of Transformers movies. The spinoff Bumblebee, whose clips were well received at CinemaCon, comes out on Dececmber 21 directed by Travis Knight. Michael Bay has hinted that Transformers: The Last Knight was his final stint in the director’s chair for a Transformers movie. Transformers 7 was put in as a placeholder on the calendar years ago, and the studio is rebooting the entire franchise in the direction of Bumblebee.

It’s official, Paramount is pulling the plug on Transformers 7. The studio has dropped the so-called Transformers 7 (apparently, Bumblebee is considered “Transformers 6”) from their release date schedule. The film was previously slated to arrive in theaters on June 28, 2019. Bumblebee, the spinoff film helmed by LAIKA boss and Kubo and the Two Strings director Travis Knight, is still scheduled for December 21, 2018.

So no wrap up on Unicron. I figured as much.

This is why I hate it when films introduce threads for later entries. They never are able to follow up on those threads and we're left dangling.

Well, that sucks.

That being said though, I’m really grateful for the movies we did get.

The way they’re wording it though, I wonder if the Bumblebee movie will just influence the feel of future movies or if It’ll be canon in both universes. Not likely, but that would be cool.

Dead remains? We're getting three years of age new toyline (the 'war for cybertron' subseries). Quite frankly I don't think there will be any changes to this themed formula. Plus don'tforget the studio series will be able to pump out a few years worth of product.

The Last Knight was a horrible piece of garbage, and I'm glad the movie franchise is taking a break, but as horrible as it was, it still made 605M, and was profitable. I'm intrigued to see what the global response to BB is, merely against TLK, not comparing it to the previous 4 TF films.

Thank Gods, it's dead.

I was just reminding myself about the part about rape trying to get it legal. Masturbation, dog sex, Transformers testicles, no Decepticons in the last movie. I don't count stupid silly crap characters who die in 2 minutes not as Decepticons. The utter not caring for Transformers characters at all but focussing on humans, toilet, sex and other out of place humor.

I'm really glad they called it quits. Only some action scenes were good, and some short story points I really liked. But the last one, haven't even bought it on blu ray. I never do that.
I just hate the whole England nonsense, I hate Hot Rod, I hate the humans, It's just a horrible incompentent movie and an insult to the Transformers brand.

Get Marvel people on it again, get that Animated, G1, Prime, Beast Wars feel in it again. Christ people, how hard is it?

For any movie defenders, I'd really love to know which part about TLK was awesome and why.

I genuinely enjoyed the knight motif (of course). Merlin was hilarious. Webley was actual an important part of the story as opposed to other female leads from the other movies (though the dating part of her characterization felt... awkward). The score was, of course, awesome, as were most of the action scenes. The return of Hot Rod was appreciated, though more my brother than by me. I'm also glad they changed him up, not making him a rehash of his G1 self.

Mind you, I will also note that everyone's entitled to an opinion. This is mine and I respect that you probably (almost guaranteed to) disagree with me.
Favorite quotes from The Transformers: The Movie-

"Ride in style!" Hot Rod (ever humble)

"Such heroic nonsense" Megatron

"I have better things to do tonight than die" Springer

"Till the day that all are one" Optimus Prime

"I belong to no one!" Megatron

"This is bad comedy" Galvatron (seeing Starscream's last bid for control)

"Ba wee gra na weep nini bong" Universal Greeting

"Till all are one" Rodimus Prime

Of course, I agree about the opinion part.

Here we go. I didn't mind the Merlin part, I actually liked the medieval part. They could've made 50% of the movie about that, ancient ruin like giants and a reason why the English people should survive.
They handled that good, little too much explosions maybe for it's time.

Webly is a Megan Fox lookalike and stole the little latina girl her screentime because she can be sexualized, what I hate about the movies. So I think she's crap, Micheal Bay would've found a way for a sexdoll or a dildo to have an important role in a Transformers movie if he wanted to. Doesn't mean it has any place in a Transformers movie.

I loved all the movies scores, I didn't like this one. But that's personal. ROTF, DOTM, AOE, great scores by Steve Jablonsky.

Action scenes were hollow because there were cardboard cutout characters killing each other. Didn't like any of the Decepticon stereotypes. The knight robots and demon combiner had potential if not for 2 minutes of screentime before dying because we need to focus on humans.

Bay & team really forgot they did way better action scenes:
Revenge of the Fallen forrest battle, made excellently. My favorite giant robot action scene ever.
Transformers Starscream against the other Raptors, looks fantastic!
Dark of the Moon, Optimus against an army of Decepticons with jetpack, awesome!
Age of Extinction, Optimus against Galvatron. The hunt for Ratchet (which almost gave me nightmares so intense)

These guys know how to make good action scenes and write at least a little decent character for the audience to be engaged.
The Suicide Squad, I didn't care. Combiner looks cool, but dies in 1 sword slash.

Hot Rod was another over the top stereotype. That's the problem with most Autobots, they have to be over the top because they have 4 seconds of screentime. Otherwise the viewers are only going to say, the green one, the yellow one and the red one were... cars and stuff.

They could make the movies better, but they just refuse.

And the last one was the final insult.

Stranger Things, Star Wars, Suicide Squad, Batman v Superman, King Arthur, Gravity,

I mean come on! That doesn't fit in one movie. It felt like an episode of Robot Chicken having a bunch of toys and hot people parody the recent movies.

It's like Scary Movie with Transformers instead of Marlon Wayans.
It's total nonsense.

Damn I hope Bumblebee will be different.

FWIW, Isabella (Sorry, "Izabella") was the worst part of the entire movie IMO, and that's saying something. She was really, really annoying, and the film tried way too hard to make us like her/think she was a badass. Case in point, the scene where she marched out in front of Megatron. It was clearly supposed to make us think "Whoa, she's not scared of Megatron! What a stronk independent woman!" but all it made me think was "Why doesn't Megatron just incinerate her? Poor sod's got no clout anymore..." and "What kind of idiot starts shouting insults at MEGATRON in full firing range of him and his lackeys?". Not to mention how the film couldn't decide whether she was "Stronk independent woman who don't need no backup" or "Squealing useless histrionic millstone". The bit at the beginning with the other kids was especially cringey, mainly because everyone involved had the acting skills of a wet paper bag. You could have gotten rid of her and the worst that would have happened is the film would have remained exactly the same.

There were things I liked about TLK- the robot designs (even the ones cobbled together from other models), Frank Welker's performance as Megatron, Nitro Zeus in general, and the "I want my crew" scene (even if most of the released 'cons bit it in the very next scene). However, for the most part the movie was absolute garbage.

THAT SAID, I don't think hard-rebooting the movies is the right way about it. I'd actually like to see what happens next, and I think the crew deserve a chance to learn from their mistakes and make the next movie better. Especially as if the rumours are true, the "new" movieverse is going to be dripping with GEEWUN fanw@nk. Like, sure there's a lot of crap in the "old" movieverse (namely annoying human characters and lack of screentime/development for the 'cons) but there's no need to throw the baby out with the bathwater and sacrifice the genuinely good elements (notably the interesting mythology and the pretty awesome robot designs).

I remain cautiously optimistic for the Bumblebee movie. I hope it's good, but I am worried it's going to be "MCU flick #379272893 but with Transformers instead of capes".

Wait what rumours? I don't need to see all the cons get development as I expect the cons to get blown up (along with a few autobots...it is a war after all) maybe offer a more nuanced take on megs, allow him to be the guy who's fighting for a good end, just doing it the worst way possible :D

Well, sign me up for MCU stuff. Tons better than Transformers any day.

About mythology, throw that out with the trash.
They do the exact same story every single movie.

1. Something happened in the past, McGuffin found and lost
2. Present day Autobots and Decepticons fight over it
3. Autobots win

They just go further and further into the past of our boring ass planet untill they went to far with TF4, so TF5 can't be with the primordial soup so, medieval knights. Next movie would've been Cowboys, then we have Pirates, then we have cavement, then WW2... oh wait we already had some of that.

I don't care one bit about the mythology because it's just childish made up crap without regard for the previous movie every single time! They drop elements because they don't like them anymore (Sam), then they act like they're clever and have him make a cameo with the photo.
This is terrible storytelling.

I do agree on the robot designs, I like them for the most part.
The alien faces were a bit off for me in the first couple of movies and the new bodies look way to human. But everything looks cool and spectacular for the first 3 movies.
From 4 look okay. TF5 didn't like the designs with the repainting older models. Come on people.
