ha! same here! and im also totally down for MP22, white prime or not.Burn wrote:For the record, while I would like a separate cab/robot ... I can live without it as long as the final Ultra Magnus robot is awesome.

I will believe in this statement when TTomy gives me my white leg MP Red Alert! Hopefully Hasbro will give me cartoon accurate Red Alert.

again, the masterpiece line is based mostly on the cartoon.
if you want a white prime.. get the MP01 repaint.. but that isn't ultra magnus to most people.. ultra magnus to most people is what we saw in the '86 movie.. he was never a white prime in the cartoon.

but not having a white prime inner body is overly picky..
this is supposed to be ultra magnus as he appeared in the movie/season 3.. and this figure accomplishes that flawlessly.. and it accomplishes that while being accurate in its look, size, and features.
it just baffles me that people can pass on a beautiful figure like this because there's no white prime.. which, mind you, has been the bane of the fanbase for a long time.. there've been TONS of people who are sick of the white prime repaint.
i'm surprised that there are people who aren't.

Flashwave wrote:Yes, we always knew about the little Prime dude, but how many times has it figured into Magnus' character? I mean, actually figured in? Once? The DW comic in which Scorponok strips him naked with a blaster?

Mykltron wrote:Mindmaster wrote:If you have a problem with this, then the problem is with you.
I have a problem with his apparent lack of lateral shoulder articulation. Also, as they've gone for toy accuracy, his thighs are disproportionately short.

And his lower legs and feet are HUGE. They weren't that big in the cartoon.
Hmm, yes, that could be a problemMykltron wrote:Mindmaster wrote:If you have a problem with this, then the problem is with you.

Actually, no one stripped Magnus of his armor. He stripped himself, after his armor became damaged. And it was Shockwave who blew 1 of his arms off after Magnus saved Optimus.![]()
It's 1 of my favorite comics moments, though I have no problem with not having a white Prime inside the armor, just having the white cab as part of the overall robot, which is what Titanium and KFC did.

Well, but its better than his RID counterpart, who couldn't stand upright because he had tiny feet and a skinny truck stakebed to stand on...![]()

Eh, I'm not sure about the shoulder articulation. The shoulder could easily swivel outwards with a universal joint inside the shoulder pad. Too much to speculate from a few blurry pics of a prototype.

I'm pleasantly surprised that Takara didn't go with the "parts-former" approach. I like the fact that in the cartoon, my favourite character, Optimus Prime, doesn't share a character design with other Transformers. No white Convoy, no Nemesis Prime.. none of that stuff, he's completely unique. Likewise, Ultra Magnus.
I do like that they have the same cab model in truck mode though, it was a nice reference to Prime when he was written off; and it also kind of adds to the premise that they go way back. (and Takara matched it perfectly.)
