This isn't the first Micheal Bay movie to be accused of this...I'm so glad most people here haven't watched Micheal Bay films (sarcasm??) because it seems hardly anyone knows the trends of his movies when relating that to TF (Not just on this issue either)...It must be bliss...

As to your points, I'm not mad, and I'd probably laff @ them aswell, but like I said I'm probably more liberal than some in the black community that's gonna associate that with some racial element...I mean if a conservative black family goes to TF2 and see what they deem to be "N"-word bots, who am I to say they're totally out of bounds when I've watched Bay movies with friends and we've double-taked at his usage of certain black characters...

Like with JarJar Binks, I hated him cause he was annoying as hell, but my friend was all like, "Look how they try to play us with a fake a$$ Bob Marley talking alien..." A day in these guys' shoes might give you a clearer reason why they are offended is all...I just think it's very sweeping to totally dismiss it...However I do agree that the MTV-BET pop culture (and more notably perceived pop culture) shares in the blame...

yeah, well, i'm not gonna hide--i do enjoy racist humor. but i ain't gonna go any further than that.

I know I typically don't get offended easily at these sort of things (remember Resident Evil 5)but those two were offensive as heck. I felt a mixture of disappointment, sadness, and anger by the point they got to the we can't read bit.

In the case of Jazz, he had some redeeming value in that he was at least depicted as mildly competent though he for some reason ended up going against Megatron. Skids and Mudflap were a total waste.

The twins racist? Not at all. They're voices didn't even sound "African American" to begin with. Whoever said they were racist is prejudice and stereotyping. I mean, because they say things like, "...bust a cap..." and have gold teeth shouldn't make them seem African American. You could be of any race and act like the twins. The reviewer was making a terribly incorrect generalization of African American people.

I thought the twins were funny. That's just me. And as far as them being one of the low points of the movie, they weren't even close. The reason they acted immature and very young was because they were well, immature and very young. Hot Rod and Cheetor weren't always all about business.

As a a Black person myself (oops, i mean "African American"), it kills me to say this, but i have to agree with these comments. While they might not be politically correct, there is alot of truth to this. I get tired of people of any ethnicity always throughing out the race card every time they feel there said ethnicity is shown in any type od sterotype.
Also as an African American male, it aggravates me to no end when people of any ethnicity brings up the most stupid **** as being racist. I mean com'on. think about this....

I completely agree with you. I'm half Black myself, and it's usually people who aren't black themselves who say that things like this are offensive to Blacks. They're just trying to side with whatever they think Blacks might think so they won't get caught in the possible crossfire.

Like you guys, I have a hard time assuming that the Twins and their behavior is "black". I know way too many white people that think they are cap-busting gangstas. To consider this stupid behavior as "common behavior for black people" is pretty low budget.

Meh, I simply took them as a plot device to further along the story where Bay wanted. They were filler in some parts, mostly stupid humour. While in another, only one I can think of, is when they began fighting each other and uncovered the tomb to the Matrix. They JUST HAPPEN to argue there...and JUST HAPPEN to hit the right spot...

Whatever.

They served a purpose. Minor and childish, but a purpose nonetheless.

Oh, and I didn't view them as being portrayed as African American. NO ONE I have ever worked or met have acted in this manner. It seemed pure Hollywoodized urban teen....

I haven't seen it yet, but E! etertainment compared the twins to Jar Jar binks, which just made me roll my eyes. I am sick of stupid comic relief characters that serve no other purpose.
