A thought's just occured to me - is it possible that RiD is making most of it's Decepticons Vehicles now because Titans Return has some beast Decepticons?

I have the one-step (it is pretty sweet!) but the legion looks so good!

Ha, I think thats coincidence. I think the vehicle cons are coming back simply because they are bringing back classic cons which were first shown as veicles before, like Soundwave and Starscream/Skywarp. Megatronus was a classic con and he had a vehicle mode too. That contrasts the new Decepticon character toys that were all animals (except for Fracture).

Could it... maybe be the other way round, then? We're getting beasts in TR because this is when they decide to bring back classic characters in RiD?

I think it's just that the Decepticon Headmasters in G1 were all beasts when they were first made, and TR is all headmasters except the Legends class

Oh of course, my theory was simply that they decided to do the Headmasters now because they had beasts in them because we have vehicle decepticons.

That could be a factor. So could the fact that Combiner Wars was essentially beastless. But it could just as easily be "this is who's left on the list", and the ongoing "ditch the stuff that's not G1" initiative isn't seen as something that needs to be balanced out in any way.

Rereleasing members of the core Autobot cast is just something that this line does. They keep rereleasing them to ensure that any and all newcomers to the line get a chance to own the main Autobot cast.

Pretty much every Warrior Class Autobot has been re-released in either Weaponizer or Combiner Force at this point, along with some Decepticons. The last two waves had Drift, Strongarm, Blizzard Force Optimus Prime, Grimlock, Thunderhoof, and Fracture for example.

Ah right, sorry, i was mixing those up with Decepticon Hunters, although i'd've still liked to have seen Decepticon Hunter Drift & Windblade, but it's too late now that things have moved onto Combiner Force

A shame my painting desk is absolute filled with half-finished tiny plastic daemonic supersoldiers (and also nearly-complete super-detailed Hardhead and Skullcruncher) because there's a tonne of shelfwarming Windblades in my local Entertainer that are begging me to detail up with paint and gift with a new, less "blow-up-doll" head. The mold actually looks OK (lack of wrist swivels and awful face aside) but the lack of paint on that thing is appalling.

This just makes SDCC Titan Force so much more appealing...

We can ask Cobotron or Chuck, do you guys like your SDCC Windblade?

Although the place its really at is the Takara version. If ever Shajaki comes back, we can ask him how he finds his TAV windblade.

That is true, but A: thanks to spotty UK distribution I'm not sure if we'll ever see it here, and B: I like Windblade unmasked. I will agree the masked head is cool though.

Aye. It does look pretty good- the jet mode looks a lot better than the Generations figure, and it looks a pretty nice toy. Part of me wants to import the TAV version through Mandarake but she's so cheap in my local store, and seeing as I'm going to be modding her anyway, that quite frankly I might as well fire up the airbrush (or at least the paintbrush...).

As for the SDCC version, the colours are kind of...weird and it still has that horrible face.

Yes Will, Yes I do. The deco is super cool. Has nothing to do with accuracy though. And, I do find that mold to be superior to the Gen mold in every way. Honestly though, I would have likely skipped her had she not come in the SDCC set, but she was a cool incentive to pull the trigger on that purchase.

Your better off getting her locally and modding her then,e specially since she is sold out at mandarake.
