People, put your feet in the shoes of Hasbro. YEARS we complained about not enough G1. Then they released G1 Prime in CW. "Not good enough. Too chunky."
Then Titans Return voyager and leader. "Not G1 enough. Gimmick too obtrusive. Colors suck. Plane mode sucks."
Then PotP. "Too big for most CHUG. Need a G1 voyager."
Siege brings a G1 voyager. "Good robot, weird alt mode."
They decide to reissue G1 vintage Optimus. "No trailer. Eh. I don't care."
Then because people liked the Cybertron design for Siege Magnus and thought it would make a good voyager Optimus, they figured a Cybertron Optimus homage was in order. "Who would like this? Not me, therefore nobody. Nope."
Then they release this **** EPIC G1 movie design for Optimus. "TOO MANY OPTIMUS PRIMES! Ya all are RUINING THE FRANCHISE!" Get your HEADS OUT OF YOUR ASSES and realize if you don't like thing, DON'T **** BUY THING! **** I need a break from **** internet people..
Edit: Also take note how insulting you are as a fandom to those designers who you basically treat like slaves. If their hard work doesn't satisfy you, you insult them. If they work more to try and make something better or just REISSUE THE ORIGINAL essencially as a GIFT to the fandom as a bonus and unrelated to the main lines thing, you call them a bunch of G1 cock suckers. I love the brand, but am ASHAMED ofthis fandom.

Anyway, I kind of like the over all design. It's kind of what I had hoped to see way back in '97. G1 in inspiration, with a heavy spoonful of modernization.
Looks like a pretty neat toy actually. Do I need another Frieghtliner Prime? Probably not.
Just thinking out loud, I guess. And for once I actually WANT to see a Transformers movie, so I'd like to get my answers from the movie, not you all.Randomhero wrote:Cobotron wrote:I'm confused. Why are you asking about stuff if you don’t want it answered?!

Welcome to the forums
You just have to have your emergency rain poncho ready for the occasional **** show that erupts on the main/busy threads. There is a handy mute button in the form of setting users as a "foe" that comes in pretty handy

@Ironhidensh: I agree wholeheartedly. I admit I have not seen the movie yet, though I will on Sunday. So I can't say for certain whether it is a prequel or soft reboot, but I feel it may be the latter due to its major but not 100% style change. Seems like a bridge to something new, but not necessarily the whole new thing. Like this movie could be seen as a prequel to the previous ones, or the first of a new series, and it wouldn't matter whichever someone may say because the movie is constructed that way. But I will say, this Optimus? It's exactly what I always envisioned in a proper cinematic version of the old Optimus Prime I love so dearly. This figure shall be mine. (Along with the G1 reissue, hopefully. )

And this toy is the movie verse beginning to try to be worked into that, and considering how cool Shatter and Dropkick ended up, why we couldn't keep going with the original movie concept is disappointing to us who came in with the movies and love them.
