After seeing how amazing Bee Movie Prime turned out I'm kinda looking forward to Soundwave. I would like to see a new take on the RotF satellite version at some point, though.

Thanks to Seibertronian I_AM... MEGATRON! on the Energon Pub forums we have our first sighting of Transformers Studio Series Leader class SS-34 Megatron and SS-35 Jetfire at US retail! Found at the Southern California Huntington Beach East Target they were priced at $49.99 each. Interestingly Jetfire's box is actually larger than Megatron's, a real rarity for Hasbro who almost never deviates with package sizes, especially within the same wave. This comes shortly after Deluxe class wave 5 was also first sighted in the USA.
Megatrons box is the same as previous leaders in the SS Line, Jetfires is larger in height and width. The plastic tray is also strapped onto the backdrop too

Ah, that clears up that issue. Thanks for the info

Heading out later this week, hoping I’ll find wave 5! The plan is to just get Sideswipe for right now, but WWII Bee and Megatron will be definite additions later on,maybe Barricade and Bonecrusher. Optimus could even be a possibility depending on how the DOTM leader looks. . .
Good thing I don’t plan on getting anything from wave 6 because wave 5 is going to take me a while
So I've been putting off getting the SS ROTF Megatron since it was released due to wanting a 2007 version of him. However today I caved and picked him up, and hate to say it but it was a mistake.
I really don't like this figure. It looks good in both modes but just has so many QC issues. Straight out of the package I have stress marks where the fusion cannon arm meets the backpack, and the tab on that side never lines up. Pieces look warped so where they'd hinge they are extremely loose, and one of the arms came off too easily.
I don't know if these issues are limited to my purchase, but after spending £30 to get to London and buy this only to find out its like this has really left a sour taste in my mouth. The first studio series figure I regret buying.
Lets hope they do release a 2007 version, so I have an excuse to sell this on.
Thanks to a post from Cybertron Philipines we have comparison images between the recently released Transformers Studio Series Dark of the Moon leader Megatron and the previously released Studio Series Revenge of the Fallen voyager Megatron. It turns out that both are nearly the same size, keeping the idea of scale within the series. DOTM Megatron was simply ROTF Megatron in hiding/disguise after all with a very similar robot mode, and we see that fulfilled here. The alt mode is compared to voyager Irohinde, which looks very small by comparison, and leader POTP Optimus Prime where they are of a similar size.
Let us know what you think and if you feel this leader Megatron is a worthwhile addition to your collection.

Nice pics. I would have liked to have seen a comparison of the vehicle modes between RotF & DotM Megatron. I wonder what the overall mass of the two is? Based on the Robot modes though, there really was no reason to make DotM Megatron a Leader Class.
Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics
Wish List of Modern Combiners: Road Caesar, Monstructor & Dinoking (proper size to fiction), Landcross, Guard City, Battle Gaia, & G2 Defensor. Wish List of Titans:Metrotitan,Majin Zarak

Do remember that with RotF Voyager Megatron, he achieves that apparent height and bulk in robot mode by having a hollow cavity in his chest, one that you can plainly see by lifting his arms up. The tank mode is relatively compact, by comparison. I bet that the DotM Leader Megatron is much more "solid" throughout in robot mode, on top of being a very long truck with a trailer in vehicle mode, necessitating the extra mass of his larger size class.

Except, you know, that he’s honkin’ huge in vehicle mode. Makes enough sense to me.
I've seen reviews that show that DotM Megatron and Optimus are of similar size in Vehicle Mode, when not counting Meg's trailer. It's that trailer that bumped him up to Leader, even tho it compresses into a "slightly-taller-than-Voyager" robot.
And hate to disappoint you, but like RotF, DotM Megatron is hollow in the chest. The Vehicle Mode is a worse offender as the front and bottom are even more hollow: the cab is missing the back for pete sake. That's all for the sake of compressing into the legs.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one
- Jelze Bunnycat =:3
Looking for: - TR Furos (Hardhead's head) and Crashbash (lost him ) - PotP Punch head - TR Galvatron right arm (the gun one) - CW Brake-Neck/UW Wildrider, CW Offroad - TR Twinferno & Grotusque - Greenlight, Lancer and PotP Elita-1 (plus repro Victorion hands and feet?)

Yeah, it's a shame too, that the dotm voyager was so elegant, they could have up-scaled and reworked that, it could have even kept the articulated truck mode too
I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.

That pic has voyager Meg's legs all stretched out. If his legs were bent in on themselves like they're meant to be, he'd be about a head shorter than the leader

To be fair, leader megs' legs are stretched out too

Yep, he should be hunched over a bit with his legs bent a little, but everyone poses this figure standing up straight. He should be posed more like this.

Don’t forget backwards. Everyone poses their stuff backwards too. That’s why they complain about hallow spots.
Thanks to the due diligence of fellow Seibertron user and News Staff, D-Maximus_Primal, we've learned that YouTuber, TonTon Reviews, has done it again! This time his subject is the forthcoming Studio Series #36 Deluxe Class Drift and Mini-Dinobots! Drift is as he appeared in the fifth movie in the franchise, The Last Knight. The mini-Dinobots are minifigures in the same vein as the Igor that is packaged with Leader Class Dark of the Moon Megatron.
The review covers his transformation, and compares him to several other Studio Series releases. Studio Series #36 Drift is an exclusive to Entertainment Earth.
We have embedded the video below for your convenience:
