I would like to revoke my earlier comment on Overload’s alt mode, once I got it transformed properly it’s actually pretty nice! The connection post with Scavenger actually works well as the arm connecting the cab and carrier sections.
I already have a lot of ideas for painting, but I have to finish at least the Arcees and Skipjack first xD

Nice shelf!
I got lucky, I secured that one for the original $25 price point. It's sitting paid for in my stack that I'm still waiting on a source points event to ship it out on.
Thank you!
Have you had any issues with TFSource? I didn't when I bought War Hammer Bumblebee years ago, but I've heard since that people have had credit cards stolen from there.
I do the same, and they have never given me problems. The one time I did have an issue, an accidental double order, they immediately resolved the problem no hassle.
Actually did ship out the stack Friday, double source points! should be here tomorrow, which means Sentinel, Bee, and Blackout are about to get some new parts and toys.
I'm looking for parts, Help Me Out Please!

Anyway, your use of "Killdozer" and referring to 2009 Yellow Rampage as female had me wondering.

As it happens, I went with Killdozer for Skipjack because A: "Skipjack" is a kind of tuna and B: Killdozer is a badass name (also the name of a not particularly good movie and an IRL vehicle with a bit of a sad story, but anyway). As for Deluxe Rampage, I wasn't thinking of that mold as female ("Onii-chan" being a Japanese term of endearment for "big brother" regardless of whether the speaker is male or female) but now you suggest it...

But yes. The Insecticomics were amazing.

Yeah, younger brothers have used "Onii-chan" to refer to their older brothers, just as younger sisters do for their older brothers.

I like both of them, but DOTM Megatron is my favorite. I just wish you could swap the ROTF murder arm onto the DOTM one to recreate how he looks on the ride and the DOTM game.

But then it would have to have been an exclusive, which would have been okay with me. We already have so many, 1 more wouldn't make a difference. Or it could have bumped another exclusive into general retail release. Either way, $30 is too much for this figure, even if it looks great.
Weird, because the figure definitely has more parts in his construction, no 'deluxe gaps' and all the extra accessories you don't care about that I could see where the money went. He's definitely NOT a deluxe class figure in terms of quality.

I'm sorry you guys don't like Hot Rod, but I definitely tend to disagree with the why.
Anyway, got all the deluxes today, and so here's Jazz -
I don't know what you've heard, but he's got the same heft to him as a WFC figure, and his gaps are actually more minimal. His joints are nice (I've seen complaints about his ankles, but that's bollocks. He's got it all over any of the previous figures.

Yeah, SS86 Hot Rod has got Voyager mass. Which is what price points have always really been about (that and engineering).
He's the same height as Titans Return Hot Rod, while having no gaps, and also while having the costlier WFC-type joint engineering where universals are used for hips and shoulders.
No, the Voyager bubble and box aren't really justified for him in terms of space needed to store him, but since he's manufactured as a Voyager he ships as one too; a Deluxe box therefore wouldn't pack properly in the shipping case. And it's still not as stupid as the amount of wasted space in the average US G1 box (ye gods).
Oh, and by the way: making the staple new Autobot of the movie an exclusive would not have been a good idea. That would be like making the primary Optimus Prime of a line an exclusive.

Which is why I said it would have been fine if he was $24. But that would have knocked it out of the retail price point of either a deluxe or a voyager. And retail stores wouldn't make extra room for that, even though they did for their own exclusives. That's why I said it would have to be an exclusive.sol magnus wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:I finally got SS86 Hot Rod in hand and I vehemently disapprove of this figure having to be sold at voyager price. As for him being an exclusive as the "new" main character, that comparison would have been relevant in 1986, but not now.

The extra parts aren't big enough to justify the voyager sized bubble and box. They could have been kept deluxe size and the accessories would have still fit. I understand the extra parts still would have bumped the price up, but not a whole $10. This could have been sold at $22 or $24.
As for him being an exclusive as the "new" main character, that comparison would have been relevant in 1986, but not now.
At the end of the day, if Hasbro wanted the price to work, they would find a way to make it work.

My point exactly. But instead they just decided to put more useless space around the figure to justify the size of the voyager box.chuckdawg1999 wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:Which is why I said it would have been fine if he was $24.
