...and changes personality. He also seems to forget all about Charlie? This goes for every character, I get that the cybertron scene was rushed at the end, and that's why we got the g1 designs, but it's still cannon right? I might take a break from all of this.

Of course, the obvious reason they couldn't name this character Jazz is because we already watched him die in 2007. Without a reboot, that would sort of sour audience attachment to the character.
This movie takes place in the '90s (1992 according to the casting sheet), Jazz is still alive somewhere out there.
Yes, and without a reboot to avert his fate in 2007, that would sort of sour audience attachment to the character in 1992. It's hard to get attached to someone who has an especially disappointing death ahead of him.
Honestly, did you really think someone on this board somehow missed the part where this movie is a prequel?

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...
Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.
First-Aid wrote:Are we finally getting a leader TLK Megatron? And Voyager Shockwave? Gotta be SS 86...can't see the logic in releasing a Voyager movieverse when they've already done a leader.
Starscream and Scorponok must be repacks...unless it's going to be Energon Scorpy?
SS Sunstreaker? He made like a 3 second cameo in the 86 movie...
And MOHAWK?!?!? FInally!
What about Deluxe Scorponok? That can only be the Movie version, since no other Scorponok has appeared in a movie, and there wasn't a Scorponok in the High Moon Studios games.EvasionModeBumblebee wrote:Well, I'm glad to see Mohawk but man, that's an incredibly depressing roster.
I was holding onto hope that 2024 would be better than 2023 for Bayverse stuff since we only have a single core repaint in the mainline for the entireity of this year, and hopefully we'll see more Bayverse at the end of 2024, but that lineup is super disappointing to see.
Like, I could tolerate 86 when we were still getting a handul of Bay figures a year (like 2022) but now between 86 and the WFC games for some reason, we're down to getting a single core figure a year when we still have a big part of the Bay roster to get through.
It's difficult to say because it didn't pan out when I said it recently for 2023, but man, I have to hope there's more Bay stuff at the end of 2024.

It will when there's a consensus or further proof.
Nemesis Primal wrote:So, some notes.
-Megatron is either a figure based off of I guess concept art of him for Bumblebee (which should exist since we know he was planned and then cut from the film), or he's G1 Megs (still with a tank mode according to Q&A commentary from the past)
-Shockwave is either a Voyager/properly-sized version of his Bumblebee design (which I think is most likely), or is some kind of SS86 release (would probably have to be a new mold to emit the Siege bits and fit at Voyager?)
-Sunstreaker is either a design they made up out of nowhere as a hypothetical of "what if he was in Bumblebee" (or he has concept art we don't know about), or is SS86 (which makes more sense to me, both due to his nonexistent connection to Bumblebee and because Mark said in a Q&A that he knows ER Sunstreaker's colors don't match and expressed interest in fixing it)

What's to say these aren't simply reuses of the WFC molds (minus the extra bits for Shocky)? They already did that with SS Coronation Starscream

Because Beast Wars characters are in Rise of the Beasts? We've already seen Studio Series Airazor and Cheetor, remember.RiddlerJ wrote:Ig89ninja wrote:Wait, if the Deluxe "Scorpinock" is rumored to be Predacon Scorponok, is it possible that the Leader Megatron is actually Predacon Megatron as well?
Why would Beast Wars characters be in the Studio Series Line?
