So in short the Transformers universe is staying by itself probably because introducing any other brand after the Transformers movies have been going on so long would mess continuity up (yeah yeah say your little jokes about continuity in transformers movies)

I'm not entirely sure how. If anything it could be a very sensible kickstart point for a lot of them; organisations like G.I. Joe initially being formed in response to Cybertronian Threats, the likes of Cobra and M.A.S.K. getting ahold of Cybertronian tech, etc.

On the other hand though, since I'm not a fan of the Transformers movies, I'm glad they're not using them as a starting point. Means a fresh start.

He can approve of the designs, yeah, but he's not one of the artists who actively draw out and sketch each and every one of the designs.

Seibertronians, after revealing one for Hot Rod, then another for Drift, the Transformers: The Last Knight official Instagram has shared another Digital Character Reveal, this time of the new mini-bot, and apparent friend to all humans, Sqweeks!
Squeeks is a whole new character whom we've heard has been around the set recently. The little dude turns into a cute little Vespa scooter, and that is very apparent as his robot mode consists of the front wheel as his right leg and the kickstand as his left, the headlights as eyes, the handlebars as hands, and the body forming a little dome over his little Wall-E styled face.

Black Car > Red Robot how?
I mean, Drift's design always looked like it couldn't possibly transform anyways, but this is just ridiculous.

The car kibble gets flipped inside out. The last toy did it with the shoulder pads by folding the sides to reveal the inside.

Hips aside, the Deluxe AoE toy was pretty fantastic, and it was both faithful to the alt-mode and the animation model. Lots of armor in bot mode, and a great looking car.

yeah and plus they were able to keep his bugatti symbol on his robot mode chest from his alt mode while still giving him totally new robot detail for his chest. That was some slick engineering there which was not found on lockdown (who end up with a fake chest).

Eh, that's too big of a cheat for my tastes.

Its very efficient though, and minimises kibble in either mode while providing different detail for either mode. I think its pretty cool, like how they did it with AOE Voyager Hound. Takara was super proud of that new design technique.

Because the wider movie-going public doesn't see the franchise as a religion.

the general audience who were asking for Hot Rod to be in the movie don't care about the Marvel Comics. They probably don't even know they exist.

That is the single most asinine comment in this entire thread. And that's hard to do, considering some of the arguments that go on in here. But thank you for reminding me where your head actually is when it comes to Bayverse. I started to think you may be able to have a reasonable conversation with other people. My bad.

Did I miss something, I dont see what doesnt make sense about that comment. The 80s TF movie was super popular amongst kids (its the reason many of us are here on the boards, I am sure) while the Marvel TF comics were not read as much. They were also primarily in the UK right? And the series proved unpopular by the end that the runs were very limited to the point where the most expensive Marvel TF issues are the last ones and not he earliest ones.

So yeah, I am pretty sure that many hot rod fans out there who were hoping to see him in the movies had not read the Marvel UK comics.

It doesn't even matter much.

That is both something hard to do and is up to personal opinion on what Adorable is to them.


But the movies have always had great voices (I say bull to whoever said Crosshair's voice acting was crap a few pages ago) so I have faith they will do well.

That's a very hard balance. In any case I assumed they were gonna go all Bumblebee on him and not give him an actual voice; having a similar relationship with the kid as TFP Bee and Raf.

If they do that they better give Bee his voice back or make him use the radio a whole lot more like in AOE because we don't need two quiet Transformers especially if the Dinobots return with no voices.

Sqweeks can't be a new Bayformer, because I can see all of its vehicles parts in robot mode lol.

It would seem to me since Cybertronians have a techno-scanning ability which allows them to change their alt form, while getting healed of all damage, that more of them would take advantage of it. For example, in RotF, Skids and Mudflap used it to change from a combining ice cream truck into separate vehicles w/ newer bodies. And in AoE, Optimus Prime used it to shed the beat down box semi-cab form and removing all the damage while acquiring a newer form of semi. I don't see why other Cybertronians like Jetfire and Sqweeks wouldn't take advantage of it.
