This is correct. He even looks like the cartoon "The Rebirth" styled head
Interesting. I didn't know Spike became the head in some points.

This isn't a bad thing in of itself, but it just isn't convincing me to upgrade from the Classics Astrotrain which also had compromised alt modes.
I do like Galvatron on the other hand. He would be a nice upgrade from that crappy Universe version

Yup, the Hasbro G1 toy headmaster head was Spike. Thats pretty crazy when you think about it, a human becoming a headmaster.RiddlerJ wrote:I want to like that Astrotrain, but it's kinda meh. I think in both cases its simply going from a deluxe to a voyager. Thats mainly why I am getting this astrotrain, I feel a voyager makes more sense for my collection. Same with Galvatron. What is weird though is that the classics trio of Scourge, Cyclonus and Galvatron were all deluxes and scaled well together. Now we have a voyager cyclonus and galvatron but Scourge is a deluxe. Kind of odd, no? And is it just me or does it look like Galvatron has hemorrhoids in canon mode?

Would that make him a *puts on sunglasses* JET JAGUAR?
They're making all these 1986 characters to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 1986 movie. That they're all Headmasters now is due to that being the line-wide gimmick of Titans Return.Rodimus Knight wrote:Me, I still don't get why the are making so many of the former non-headmaster's into headmasters. Seems that this sketch from the Stormbringer trade paperback was the inspiration for the Sentinel/Astrotrain mold:Seibertron wrote:RiddlerJ wrote:I want to like that Astrotrain, but it's kinda meh. I agree about Astrotrain. This isn't what I had in mind to go alongside Springer, Blitzwing and Sandstorm. It's a new take on the character, but doesn't fill the Voyage Class "Generations" gap for me. I was really hoping for a significant remold from Sentinel Prime along the lines of Springer and Sandstorm.

It balances out for all the toys they released with their gimmicks neutered throughout the years. Like with Gen Thunderwing, Nightbeat and Armada Starscream which didnt retain their original G1 gimicks. Ayways, this is generations, the moto was always about doing something new with G1 characters. Where was the uproar when Powerglide was turned into a targetmaster? If we want a perfect reinterpretation of G1 there is only Masterpiece.
And if anyone wants a nice non headmaster Galvatron for their classics collection, there is still Energon Galvatron who is still Boss!

Something as simple as the Decoy pamplet, the Beast Wars mini-comic that came with the Megatron/Optimus Primal 2 pack, etc ... just want something fictional to tell me the story about why they're all Titanmasters.
The DECEPTICONS unite with TITAN MASTER parnters to power up for battle! FRACAS can steal the power of other bots, letting SCOURGE harness whatever ability suits his sinister plans.

william-james88 wrote:From what I gathered of the early info on Titans Return, I liked how there would finally be a distinction between what we call the little head components and what we call the full robot. In G1, both the small head robot was a headmaster and the main complete robot was a headmaster. I thought the idea behind this line was that the complete robot was still a headmaster but the small head component was a titan master. And that seems to be the general idea still since we still reffer to this upcoming Chromedome as a Headmaster (in fact we are all saying how its not cool to be turning everyone into a headmaster) while the small head component is now a titan master. So I think thats smart on hasro to finally clear something up and distinguish the head as a different name than the overall robot.
