A Highbrow Retool can't make Slugslinger, i think it Slugslinger was meant for Triggerhappy retool
But look at her.

That vehicle mode look a heck of a lot like Slugslinger.

It's not a retool of Highbrow. It uses some of the same parts, and the same collapsing torso section, but the transformation is very different in many ways. Such as how the legs fold up. And the fact that Windblade uses Highbrow's heels as toe sections.
[snip]
So it's not a Higbrow retool... Hmmm, problems with Slugslinger he has Double cockpits,
No biggie. Hasbro would have to make them incompatible with Titanmasters anyway or else he'd have two giant nosecones on the front. Pretty easy retool. Doesn't even technically need retooling on the rest of it to make that work if it weren't for the fact that Windblade is female. So yeah, no issue there. Just would have a larger backpack, and would need some detail retooling such as replacement arms with extra bulk.
My issue with the Slugslinger out of Triggerhappy idea is that they would have to make his vehicle and robot mode wings attach in the wrong spot, and then he would look too different from his original incarnation. Windblade however would be easy to use. In a way, Windblade could be the missing link. In fact, her parts end up in the same places in vehicle mode as the original Slugslinger toy! Small legs folded up in the back with not too much bulk, some barely noticeable arms folded up under the wings, and the wings end up on the back in robot mode.

Yeah, I think that looking at the similarities it does seem pretty likely that if Slugslinger is to be made from one of the molds already available, it'll probably be Windblade. I don't agree that there would only need to be a small amount of retooling though; at the very least he'll need entirely new wings and cockpit section, and probably new arms, torso and calves as well. But yeah, totally the best match we have so far for sure!
It's also worth noting that while Windblade's TM doesn't match Blowpipe that well, he doesn't match any worse than any other Master partner I've found and some of the details do generally sort of match up. (But why the cloven feet on the TM, then?? They look so familiar, but I just can't work out who or what they're meant to be homaging! )

Sorry if I confused. I wasn't saying that this does not require much retooling. What I was trying to say is that they can integrate the two cockpits in the front even without changing the design too much, so that's not a valid concern.

I'm... very confused how the two correlate at all, or why there's a decent possibility considered for either.
Qwan wrote:I agree that one or two cockpits isn't a worry either - past that, I was saying that Windblade into Slugslinger would require a fairly large amount of aesthetic retooling, but that the base figure is the best match we have. I think we're both pretty much on the same page and are just getting stuck on exact details, but basically I agree that Slugslinger would not be hard to retool from Windblade, just extensive if that makes sense... now I'm even starting to confuse myself
william-james88 wrote:And I am actually really not fond of that Blitzwing. We were all wondering how they would handle it since the chest on Megatron is in the midsection of the plane and not the front. The answer? FAKE KIBBLE. I wouldnt mind if it was there just for the robot mode but the damn fake cockpit is present on the airplane mode too So you end up with the same cockpit section twice in a row, it looks dumb as all hell. Plus, unlike Megatron, Blitzwing has 2 varied colours of tan and purple which are done to distingush alt modes. But it fails here because the tank just looks like a Piet Modrian painting with the colours clashing. Megatron actually appears to be a way better use of this mold since there is no fake cockpit and a uniform colour on all modes. I didnt get the thrilling 30 Blitzwing and might not get this one.
Octane fares better especially since that plane now has a uniform white scheme which works, and he also has some retooling. though I find it odd, isnt he supposed to have purple squares (or such) on his chest?

As amazingly cool as it would be to have an Armada Sideways in this line, I really think there's practically zero chance of that happening. To my memory he's not in any rumour lists (nor is Elita-1 I believe), and there are no motorbike Transformers coming in TR either to our knowledge. Plus I think most (including myself) would be more than a little disappointed if he only came with one Titan Master, and Hasbro has shown already with Overlord that they're not willing to include more than one even in the Leader class scale. So sadly, it seems incredibly unlikely that Sideways is going to happen - but we can always hope, I suppose!

Yeah, there's no way Hasbro did the whole 'slightly-larger triple changing headmaster' thing without that in mind. Hopefully those two and some more targetmasters for the fans. (And if in box sets, more business for me!)

Overlord looks awesome and will be mine. Tidal wave looks ok. Better in boat mode. Interesting they went with toon purple and not toy green. Clones look good. What size are they? Look a bit simple. Delta magnus prime whatever is just ginrai? Most interesting. Will this mean hasbro godbomber can combine? Or will we have to go takara?
Quickswitch is pass. Octane looks much better in alt modes than prime. Nautica is a pass. I probably would have been more interested if she was anyone other than blurr.
And who is in which boxset? Is there only two or will more be coming?

Speed = Quickswitch, Laser Prime, Nautica, Fastlane, Rodimus
Strength = Magnus Prime, Tidal Wave, Metalhawk, Pounce, Thunderwing
Pounce and Fastlane don't exactly belong to any pre-existing side class; they're their own special thing between Legends and Deluxe.
We've no word at all on a God Bomber/Iron Apex/whatever release from Hasbro.
An interview with John Warden confirms that there will be at least two more boxsets, which will contain one of the two remaining clones (Wingspan and Cloudraker) each. But that's all we know about potential upcoming sets aside from Speed and Strength.
By the by, since there seems to be four sets and the first two are Speed and Strength... anyone else think the other ones will be Intelligence and Firepower?
