I'm rather surprised they bothered to paint Aimless' face, and in two colors as well. Wish Hasbro had shown this kind of attention to detail to more Titan Masters post-wave 1.

Amen to that. I almost wanna paint Fangry's visor a different color than his face. I can't be the only one who is bothered by this.

It doesn't bother me, but that's because it's true to his G1 toy. I can genuinely see why it bothers you, though.

Does he look as... 'mushy' in hand? The glossy pink seems to eat up details and edges in pictures.

Oh no, the detailing is pretty sharp. It was a combination of my camera, and less than ideal lighting. I was hoping for a sunny day, but it was kinda cloudy, so things were a bit darker than I would have liked. The only things that aren't sharp are the parts that are painted, because...well, they're painted. And even then it's not too bad.

Aimless, judging by how he just barely won't fold up all the way. Still works fine though.

A while back (far back) someone posted a chart of the animal headmasters Takara planned to made but didn't. IIRC this was done during the discussion of Shuffler's retool into Ramhorn and the basis for Ramhorn's Titan Master face. I don't remember if it was in this thread or the Takara thread and I don't remember who shared it. I've tried searching online but I cannot find it. As I would like to see it again and share it with my cousin can someone please provide a link to that post or re-post the chart?
Thank you.
Thank you.

The belief is that they're packaged together and will be sold that way somewhere else as an exclusive. Wouldn't surprise me if she's a New York Comic-Con exclusive that will go on HTS after NYCC, not after Hascon.

Apparently TFormers looked at the name of the image and it LOOKS like Arcee will be in a new Hasbro in-house subscription service ala TFSS.

Hmmmm...if that's the case, I'll have to hunt for this on the aftermarket or be happy with my three incarnations of Arcee (Generations, Legends and BLACK) I currently own.

trigger-happy was and still is my fave TR figure, misfire or Miss Fire as I like to call him/her is a close second. The extra apps on the Titan Masters in this wave were a nice surprise and as others mentioned, it would've been nice to see across all the other waves too.
I like to put his guns on his shoulders to give him an evolved seeker look. In fact, i think the base mode would've worked very well for re-imagined seekers

Well, it might not be that bad, if you think about it. Didn't we already hear that the price point will be $30 for this set? That's convention exclusive manufacturer pricing for sure. But it is definitely not TFSS pricing. Those were upwards of $100 for molds that were largely unchanged, just with added paint and head sculpts. For $30, we also get the diecast Titan Master, so arguably it's maybe a 50% premium for Arcee herself.
Personally, I can swallow having to pay a small premium for a figure like this if it's an exclusive as such. I couldn't justify paying 3-5x as much (depending how long I waited) for the TFSS figures.
Maybe this is also the way we get the figures that can't really get at there proper size classes. For instance, Snapdragon and Apeface, both have the added trouble of being "double Headmasters". Maybe they become a $40 voyager size with the extra titan master part for the beast head, but are convention exclusive. Would that be ok?

I can't remember where, but I think I saw where Arcee was only going to be $25. I know io9 had $30, but I think the promotional info from Hasbro themselves said $25.

The Horrorcons being headmasters for robot and beast only work if they make it just like G1. I'm sure they could get around that by having the beast heads flip out of their chests or something, thus only needing one titanmaster. Which I would prefer.

Ah, that does make it a bit more difficult (meaning significantly more money too) to obtain the exclusive figures.
Maybe you will get lucky and they will have some sort of overseas distribution.

I dont know how they would/are going to do it but, I just want Apeface and Snapdragon figures. Since we know they are not in the last wave of Titans Return, plus have been told that no headmasters in PotP, under normal circumstances no headmaster Horrorcons for a while. Like everyone has said its a shame since triple-changing headmasters is what the voyagers were all about in TR. If they cant find a way to make bot and beast head work with one headmaster, I would be fine with a beast helmet type deal where the headmaster fits inside. Its not ideal but better than them not being headmasters at all and turned into powermaster armour types.

So I'm very curious: where'd the huge love for Apeface and Snapdragon come from?
Don't get me wrong; this isn't a post saying you're dumb or whatever for wanting them or that you shouldn't want them. That would be stupid; you're allowed to like whatever you like -- and honestly I don't think I'd mind them either. But it's certainly curious to me when they didn't seem to be the most popular characters before, and they were obscure even when the Headmasters got their huge advertising push in '87. Were they just that amazing in the Headmasters anime, is it a love for the toys, or something else?

It's more the anticipation of the two relatively obscure characters getting their proper dues and treatment, especially with the combination of the Titans Return Headmaster gimmick, and the Triple Changing gimmick of the Voyager Class.
It is quite disappointing to see Hasbro and TakaraTomy not seizing the opportunity to make either character, but I can't say I'm that surprised honestly. Would be a nice question to ask at HasCon : "With the combination of the Headmaster and Triple Changer gimmick in the Titans Return Voyager Class, were the Horrorcons Apeface and Snapdragon ever considered for that range?"

Re: Transformers Titans Return Product Reveals, News, Updates, Rumors, Leaks and more!
I think it's because it's the 87 line getting done in the current classics line and there is a gimmick that is perfectly suited to them. Nay, a gimmick that was their gimmick back in 87. It's like having a line all about the Primes without having space campervan Rodimus in. I know I didn't care about them until the TR voyagers were revealed to be a line wide Horrorcon gimmick. Do I want them? Yes. Is it purely because of the reason I stated? Yes. Do I care if they are in a different size class and thus not have their gimmick? Yes. Would I get them if they were in another size and didn't have their gimmicks? No. Except I have the titan master apeface. But he was such a cute monkey. Am I a hypocryte based on what I just wrote? Yes. Yes I am.

People want what they cant have, especially when it's components of a group that didn't make it onto the mass market like the rest did (a lot of people view the Horrorcons as part of the full team of 1987 Decepticon Headmasters).Kurona wrote:So I'm very curious: where'd the huge love for Apeface and Snapdragon come from?
