I am withholding my judgement of the figure, I thought it was common knowledge that hasbro's using thin, garbage plastic, and considering my UM couldn't even transform for it - especially considering their plastic quality won't have increased by then, and judging by the extreme hollowness/thinness of the tw figres', it isn't a difficult logic gap to cross
I've never had a problem with the plastic, maybe you shouldn't be so rough with your toysand really? Thinness and hollowness of figures that haven't been released yet is a flimsy argument ( pun intended). Especially when that arguably look more solid than the combiner wars figures.

I think they're alternating titan class releases. First Metroplex, then devastator, now we get fort max. It makes sense that the next one will be a decepticon.

All I did was try to transform him, both his leg mechanisms cracked - twice; on two figures...
And if you look at the pics of skullcruncher, you can see he's so hollow, they cut out bits of his tail to spare plastic use![]()
Plus, all you need do is look at the official pics to see that they're mostly empty space anyways

Anyhow I'm hoping we get Trypticon too. I am kinda hoping they come out with a CW Devastator sized Predaking too. That would be amazing. Predaking was always one of the biggest g1 combiner toys ever.

Wasn't there someone on this site who allegedly had an inside source that said they're working on a Predaking?

Just to toss this in there really quick: For those who want a Predaking: Amazon has new ones for $99.95 and given we have seen pics of him from Kanrabat, he is the size of modern combiner wars characters and he is the same cost! If you can handle a Platinum edition G1 Predaking, then there you go! all wrapped up nice and cost wise for you!

Honestly, if/when he is done, I think they'll use the voyager-deluxe system, BECAUSE, it'll mean a secondary use of possible abominus figures (just swap heads)
If they can make two combiners out of the generic beast limbs, then that'll be enough to justify making them and they wouldn't have to stretch them any further than that since the line isn't revolving around combining anymore.

As for the titan after fort, it all depends on how Prime Wars progresses but I do wonder if we'll see the chaos bringer in plastic once more

No, you forget that Predaking has 5 evenly sized TFs, Abominus has one much bigger than the others. Add that to the fact that you wouldnt be able to retool any of the predacons into Blot or Rippersnapper.
Hasbro has been very clear, they will not release Predaking or Abominus until they can do a good product the fans will like.
Also, for predaking, I strongly recomend anyone to get the G1 instead of the other stuff. Its an amazing toy and the beast modes look a lot less lame than the afterthoughts that make up Feral Rex' beast modes.

I know exactly how he was made up, but that doesn't mean anything today. If they need a second combiner to justify making it, why not swap the dragon heads for animal heads and make a cool predaking instead of recolored abominus - I would rather a scramble city-styled predaking than an overly G1 version.

Sorry didnt mean to be harsh, but I really didnt feel that your comments worked with what we know Hasbro is doing and has said. If this is what Hasbro was going to do, they would have done it. But they said specifically that there will be no beast combiners and i believe its because of molds. Instead, they will treat these combiners properly when they come, thats what they said in an interview.
And as for an overly G1 version, I think Devastator is a very good indication of what hasbro has in mind for a combiner like Predaking.
In the end, all I wanted to do was add reason to this conversation, using what we already know.
I would much much rather they make new molds for both those combiners, I have trouble following why you (or anyone) would rather they be retools.

Unless some IDW version looks like that - but isn't the IDW one titchy like the Marvel Comics version ?
It seems that Hasbro's new version is intended to be giant sized like the cartoon.
I suppose third parties will be rubbing their hands in glee again for all the accessories they can make that Hasbro didn't include (like the guns & ramps).
Anyway the Robot mode seems fine - a little oddly proportioned in places but otherwise perfectly serviceable - I'd like to see the other modes to see how it would function as a base / city / transport as that is how it would spend a good deal of it's time if I got one.
I buy big toys like this for the product interaction with smaller toys so would be looking for that to be well handled.
Just being big isn't enough as the Cluster**** that is Hasbro's Devastator demonstrates so well in my view - how not to do things well.
