Easy. One is the ROTF leader, the other is the 2007 one. Both great toys and both worth owning because they are completely different.

Just got back from a small weekend anime convention out of town that's also near one of the only two TRU stores in the state so I had a short list of things I was looking for (TR deluxe waves 4 and 5, TR Blitzwing, TR Leader Prime, TR Clone 2-pack, TLK Nitro, TLK Sqweeks) and was a little bit successful.

Prowl came from Walgreens while looking for the clones (didn't find them). He was the only figure I wanted in that line (Maybe I'll get Jetfire) and he's pretty nice in the size to price ratio and he has just enough articulation to be fun.

Krok is about as much of wave 4 as I've ever seen. Got this one from a Target, the only store I've ever seen wave 4 at (and just the two repaints to boot). Still no sign of wave 5 even though I've already found wave 6 at Walmart.

Nitro was sitting at the Walmart down there, otherwise the place looked like the local ones. This was the only non-wave 1 TLK figure I saw all weekend. I know a lot of people have been gushing over him and others aren't sure what all the fuss is about, it looks like I'm part of the later group. His bot mode is pretty nice, but his jet mode is nothing special, especially the way his huge legs are visible from every angle and don't look like anything useful. Plus his hand is visible right there under the cockpit with no attempt to hide it. I also don't like the way his wings can't be straitened out thanks to all of the joints and they aren't really VTOL wings like Windblade and Thrust as there's no pass through. The more I play around with him with his kinda realistic top and jumble of shapes bottom the less I want to stick my TM Thunderwing on him.

A couple observations: I saw a lot of Soundwaves over the weekend between Kmart, Target, and TRU. I haven't seen him locally in over half a year. Saw a lot of Broadsides, big surprise. Just like locally, Triggerhappy is eeeeeeverywhere. At TRU, while the Transformers section was packed full, it was all old stuff and lots of it. They had a bunch of MPM Bees and one MP-10 Prime, but no MPM Prime and no Trypticons (the only TR figs they had were a Fort Max, a Soundwave, a few Broadsides, and a bunch of wave 3 TMs).

Oh, and if you're looking for a TM Shuffler try that seasonal calendar and gift store that pops up at the mall, I found a bunch of them there (and a lone Twinferno, damn deluxe wave 3) for $7.

So I was at a football game Saturday, and I stopped at a Walmart and found this guy:



And then this. I used an alternate email account to get the 20% HTS discount, ordered him, and he arrived Saturday even though I didn't find the package on my porch till Sunday afternoon (yes, he sat in the 20 degree cold for a whole day) but man, he was worth it



This means that the Clones are the only TR thing left that isn't in my possession or BBTS pile of loot!

And dang Will, Cogman!! I'm really hoping mine actually comes and I'm not burned by a chinese seller again

Yes, but only if the character in both (JP and US) versions is the same. Not so for Clouder and Doubledealer. Note how Goshooter retains his name in English, and isn't called "Siren".

Perhaps as a nod to the figure's colors since they're based on Doubledealer like in the anime? I wonder if Cab will say Hoesehead on the God Ginrai box set since the toys were identical. Then again, instead of Minerva Night Beat with Rewind we got Nightbeat and effectively a new character (even though TFWiki seems to like shoving her under Hasbro's Nightbeat's entry).

Or maybe they just like messing with us?

Even though they're so different, having the two together is surreal. Never thought I'd have either one but that's how conventions go!

(I actually got this a week or so ago, but like a moron I forgot to mention it.)

So, no pics but I have one of my mum's Chrimbo presents sorted- fresh from Mandarake, a MOSC Henkei Ghost Starscream! She adores the concept of Ghost Starscream (whilst we haven't gotten to season 3 yet I did show her a clip with his ghostliness in it and she found it hilarious) and we nearly picked one up at TFNation, but alas it was £60, which was a bit excessive for a Classics Seeker. So when I happened upon one for the base price of £23 (not including shipping, alas) on Mandarake, guaranteed genuine and complete in its blister, I had to get it!

So a somewhat rare Japanese exclusive for the price of a modern Deluxe (not including shipping). Not bad! Also the first time I will ever have handled a Classics Seeker, which I'm pretty sure makes me a fake fan.

I did get something else for myself (still reserved for Christmas though) but that doesn't belong in THIS thread...

My Broadside from TRU arrived. It was supposed to be part of my Arcee order, but as the days go by the more I'm concerned they won't be filling that part of my order. First it was "in-process", then backordered, the over the weekend it said they were preparing to ship it, but now it's back to backorder again because TRU.com hates me. Must be from all the complaining I've done to them.

Just 20 more days before they cancel my order a second time.

SNAP!! I really wouldn't mind that figure!! And hey, I just re-purchased 25th Anniversary Universe deluxe Starscream recently as I didn't have any original CHUG Seeker molds after I sold them all off a few years ago!!

He's fine as long as you don't try to convince yourself he turns into an Earth jet instead of a spacecraft. My only real complaint about him and Tidal Wave is that the wings on his legs don't really look good no matter what you do with them.
