Nice little haul came in.

What do you think of Barricade? I just got him today and find that deco so lacklustre, literally.

It took over a month and a half to arrive from Europe. That's what cheap shipping plus koof get me.
But sigh... there's that kind of noob Ebay seller...

Just.. WHY?



DOTM Leader Bumblebee survived the trip, somehow.
........"Complete" my ass. The visor of the weapon thing was broken clean off since before shipping and it was never mentioned in the listing. The lone blurry picture didn't helped.
I rarely leave Neutrals or Negatives, but that seller earned his Neutral rating.



Transformation of that Bee is interesting enough, but not awesome. And the weapon pack take TWO AA batteries for ONE sound effect. Lame. Plus poor Bee have trouble standing with the backpack on.



Was it worth 60$CAN shipped?
No. Definitely not. It's not bad, but it's not great either. The "horrible" 2007 Ultimate Bumblebee was much more fun and interesting... and cheaper.

Oh well, can't win every time.

What don't you like? I think he turned out better than Smokescreen just because you can say the taillights are tinted like the headlights. I really like the matte black hood, they could easily have left it unpainted. More than anything I like his head colors. I didn't think it looked good in photos, but in hand I love the combination of black head, gold face, purple crest, and red eyes.

It's just an incredibly dull deco. That unpainted black plastic seems to go on and on. Just very uninspirng compared to the Siege one. And with the very muted purple plastic having nothing brighter to contrast with, it just adds to the dull look.

People seem split on this one. Some really like the deco and others really don't. We are in different camps.

Really not a fan of that Barricade.

I've yet to try Punchie, but yeah. That barricade suck. First, I wasn't too careful removing his bronze gun from the IRON FIRST clamshell. It snapped clean in half. Then when removing the bot from it, he pulled a '07 Jazz executed by Megatron. At least, this snapped back in. Then, one tiny blue gun is too loose on his shoulder. And finally, he feel like a cheap KO in hand.
Deco is okay, but pale in comparison to the Siege.

This is no Kingdom Beast.

I'm in a weird spot on Barricade. I like the ER datsun mold better than the Siege verison, and for the 3 Autobots, I like their ER versions better. Barricade I'm stuck on. I like the ER toy better, but the Siege deco better. It all comes down to how they underpainted the windows and the purple translucent plastic on the Siege version. It looks awesome.

Edit: I am with Emerje on the flat black on the ER mold, that looks really good.

I like him. I think the Siege version is the better looking of the two, but I still like this one. They look nice side by side on my shelf.

I like both molds of Barricade, I even like the colors on both, for different reasons. The only thing I don't like on the ER version is they used Smokescreen's head. I don't even like that head on Smokescreen, and in Barricade's gold and purple paint it looks even worse. Otherwise, I have no issues with either mold.

Well, even though I seem to be the only one complaining about Earth mode Barricade's QUALITY, I can tell that this new Punch/Counterpunch is impressive and solid. And whatever issue the original release had is now fixed.

Yes P/CP is the clear winner in that set. I did get rid of Barricade, but not because I had a problem with the toy itself, but because the character is meaningless to me, especially in G1.

Out of curiosity, do either of you have any of the ER datsuns for comparison? I've got all 4 and didn't notice any differences in quality between Barricade and the others on my copies.

Not a haul, but part of my recent round of purchases, came in yesterday. I love Nemesis and I love the mold, so I wanted to have both versions. Overpaid but its okay. They look great. Oddly, his package art on the side of the box and his instructions are both of Siege Optimus.

Getting the Takara Nemesis IS a haul. And a pretty damn nice one.

I just went to my local geek shop and despite not having any SS86 figures (ordered Grimlock at Amazon), I found 2 of my top wants and 2 "why nots".



For my SHARKSformers, I now have BW Fuzor Airhammer at last! Buying from Ebay was a big nope so finding him locally is a blessing.

G1 Cliffjumper, reissue version for relatively cheap. Nice to have him.

Kingdom Cheetor. Despite being my least wanted beast, it would look odd to have all the MCs without him. I'll see later if he's good in hand.

Finally, having completely missed out on ER Sunstreaker, I got the next best thing, the Select Cordon and Spinout set. Nice to see this set at an independent store for normal retail price, being 60$CAN plus taxes.
He also have the Shattered Glass set for 70$CAN plus taxes, but it doesn't interest me.

but man oh man it fills that way!

I finally got all of my bots moved to the new apartment!
I was able to get into the boxes
and finally, lay hands on all of my years of experiences
and a lifetime of love!!!

I got them out of the cardboard boxes and put them in plastic totes.

It was pretty fun to discover their transformations without instructions. I had a head-scratching moment about the back until I noticed the double rotation on the waist and torso.

Spinout have a very nice car mode. Like for Siege Barricade, silver paint behind colored clear plastics really make those windows POP. Too bad Cordon have completely clear windows. It look bad seeing the legs and that gaping hole through the windshield.
