Feel free to discuss anything about any of the thousands of Transformer toys here. Anything from Generation 1 all the way to the soon to be released, the never to be released or the hope to be released is fair game! Want to show off your stuff? Please post your's and see others in the Transformers Collections Forum.
While they are currently sold out, they are taking preorders for a restock.
Thanks for the heads up! According to the tracking info for my order, I should have some Protectobots (and something to actually add to this thread ;D) later today
That's what Menasor and Superion are trying to figure out! After extensive research though, it appears as though he just hasn't shipped from BBTS yet. No idea why he hasn't been sent out yet.
Ok guys, the downpour continues and I am writing this post humbled by the fact that I will never again have a haul as legendary to write about. These aren't toys actually, but instead a lot of animated hand painted cells from Beast Wars II and Beast Wars neo. A great guy named Chris was looking to sell a collection he built for 15 years and I could not resist. So without further ado, y'all ready for this?
So the lot was 57 painted cells of varying sizes, here are a handful:
These clear cells were painted from the back to give the image you see before you. Here is what they look like from the back:
And almost all of the cells come with the line art which gave an idea of what the finished cell would look like:
On some line art, you'll see some coloured pencils are applied to give an idea of how it should be painted:
Here's more of my haul (don't worry, I wont post all 57 cells)
This next one's pretty cool, it came with 2 pages of line art, one of them just a mouth. If you superimpose it, you get the finished drawing used for the painted cell:
And here are some more awesome cells. All were used to make the show of course. Pretty insane when you think that they have to make 24 of these per each second on screen.
I might make a feature on the site to detail the collection and provide better pics. But in case I never get to it, I hope you liked the post. Thanks a bunch Chris!!!!

Awww, shucks. Also, holy cow those are nice WJ! I've always wanted to get an animation cell for my collection, both my Transformers and TMNT collections. Those must have been pretty expensive.
Moosey wrote:WJ, that's amazing! Even though I've never seen any of the Japanese Beast Wars sequels, those are still amazing! How much did you pay for it all?
The guy only sought to recoup his costs and that they go to a good home. It cost me 150$ total. I know, I can't believe it either and I am staring right at them.
And the thing is that these are of course no cells for the other Beast Wars show since it was CGI and every other series after used computers for drawing and coloring. So these were the last 2 shows to be animated the traditional way with hand painted cells.

150$ for 57 of them?! That a steal!

Randomly went to Winners today. They had two Gen Windblade at 10$. So, I finally got my extra Windblade for cheap to display on my wall of MOSC Transformers.

Slog is especially bad, all that cheap rubber instead of plastic, just don't get how anyone can say it is worth the cost
I think it's the amazing alt mode which distracts me from any flaw.
If the alt mode actually tabbed together then I might agree, if it wasn't for the big bit of deformed rubber that forms the dino chest. It just hangs there looking like an apron.
Each to their own, at least the MP figures are great.
william-james88 wrote:So that would also be the case for Predaking, who is also six members.

Nemesis Primal wrote:I've wanted a version of the Bazooka mold, but it was always too rich for my blood. What's so bad about it?
The bot mode has an entire ankylosaurus hanging off him, most of it on the right shoulder. If the tail could be used as a melee weapon it'd be different, but it curves in the wrong direction.
The curve of the Dino mode limits it a bit (I was expecting that), but right rear leg is just slack.
I've always wanted an ankylosaurus TF, so maybe my disappointment caused a bit of an over reaction, but this is the worst of the BW Dino's I've got.

You know which ankylosaurus didn't disappoint?

*also, playin around with backdrops!*
You gotta show off that Strongarm. I wanna compare to my Hasbro one.
Sorry. I will, just not tonight
Busy night, but I did manage to open them up and DAMN. I love Strongarm and am glad I waited, and mold faults aside I'm so crushing on Nemmy too. I'm soooo tempted to pull off his sticker and replace it with a repro.... but I just can't bring myself to deface a figure like this!
