He's a decent figure. I got mine mainly to complete my Maximus family.

Nitro Magnus!
My expectations are pretty low as I tend to not mix and match figures or their accessories. I'm sure I'll weaponize some bot with him at least once but he's mainly going to be an "accessory" for Fort Max.

Sixgun and Brunt will be purchased for similar reasons. 8-}

That's pretty much why I got him. I tried to combine him with Cerebros, but it didn't work. Cerebros doesn't have adequate pegs or holes.

I don't have Metroplex, so I'll be passing on Sixgun, but I'm contemplating picking up Trypticon, so I might get Brunt to go with him. Unless he already comes with a Brunt?

I'm just going to sit Cog on FM's shoulder. Metroplex is on my to get list eventually, but might as well get Sixer while the getting is good. Trypticon is neat but unless you're a huge fan of the character I really can recommend it. Can't say there's much to right home about and it takes up so much room (does not have a Brunt, but does have a deluxe and titan master). I got him and FM at incredible Ollie's discounts. The irony is that I'm a big Metroplex fanboy and will probably end up paying twice as much as I paid for both FM and Typpy :BANG_HEAD:

Well, going back a bit there's these bad boys, for example:

Armada Megatron was only an Ultra in his own line but he's a Leader by modern standards. What he lacks in leg articulation he makes up for with being able to kill you to death:

Dunno for sure about Energon Megs or TM2 Megs. RiD Megs is decent AFAIK.
2007 Movie Leader Megs is at least okay IMO, despite the kibble. I like that you can pull his flail's chain taught so that you can make him swing it well.

Given the in-between size of his main robot and the look of his add-on parts, I highly suspect Siege Shockwave is a hasty tweak of the Evolution design prepared for PotP in case he won the poll, and having that design ready is why he got the spot.

Could explain why he's smaller than a Voyager but bigger than a Deluxe like Orion Pax, Hot Rod, and Primal.

That's what I was thinking. "Smaller than a Voyager but bigger than a Deluxe? Hm, that sounds an awful lot like PotP Hot Rod."

Fort Max has adequate holes though :P
Cerebros might not be able to do the full Weaponizer thing with Cog, but Cog does at least give him his gun :D Twice over, in fact.

Yes, those leader Megatrons are good, but we have to go back over 10 years for them. Since then, outside of the movie line, the only option is CW Megatron, and I never understood why people thought that is a good figure.

As for why people think CW Megs is good, I don't know. I have no personal experience. He looks decently articulated, and has the most silver paint on a regular figure since Cybertron Galvatron, but I don't know what makes him fly or fail with people.

CW Megs really isn’t that well articulated. His knees barely pull off 45 degrees, his elbows can’t get a full 90 degrees because of arm kibble, and his shoulders are placed lower than his neck-Line so his arms rotate from just above his abdomen instead of, you know his shoulders. His fusion cannon isn’t removable and also hinders the articulation on his right arm, God that things a pain.

I actually don't mind the tank mode. It looks pretty good. But they sacrificed a lot of the robot mode to get the tank mode right. I mean, as the figure is now, I would chop off the arms and legs and start over with the torso. The chest and head are fine, but the legs are laughable and the arms and cannon are just clumsy. For a leader class of such an important character, these shortcomings are inexcusable.

TR Megatron is the exact opposite. Damn good robot mode, halfway decent jet mode, utter trash tank mode. Yes, I know the original intent of the mold is Blitzwing, that's why Megatron has to suffer, but the figure is not good even as Blitzwing.

I'm one of the few who felt the leaders of CW and TR were just too damn big. CWatron was aight as a stand alone thing, but never really had a home on my shelves. Hell I paired a lot of the leaders from CW with the MP figures just because of size.

TRatron amazed me with how well it worked as a Megatron in all modes, despite that mold's short comings. But now that Siege has happened none of those toys have a home other than in the "pile" of Megatrons on my shelf next to the "pile" of Primes.

And just to keep this on topic, I did also get Siege Megatron, and MY GOD this is the Megatron I didn’t know I needed all this time. It’s everything I love about CHUG: Classic character, scales well with Classics Optimus, has a familiar look but is nicely updated for the 21st century, good articulation, and the proportions are spot on. I’ll be damned if there isn’t an Armada version of this guy someday.

This is depressing. A walmart I visited this past weekend had Shadowstriker on clearance... for $17.99. Bleh.

And wow, I never saw Moonracer in stores, so it shocks me y'all are finding her on clearance

Wow, only saw Moonracer three times in person and bought two of them, same with Elita-1 and Novastar, then again that also applies to most of the POTP line in my area...
You know, as a kid I never made the connection between the G1 Sideswipe toy my brother passed down to me and the characters in the Beast Wars show on TV, until Michael Bay had Sideswipe as a Corvette.

Moonracer was the only PotP figure in my area that truly peg warmed, she just didn't sell.

When they first went on clearance there was 5 of them at $13 each.

20190107_065323.jpg

Then everything above moved to the clearance aisle and the price dropped to $9, everything sold, but three Moonracers still remained.

20190121_065938.jpg

And then the price dropped again to $4.50 so I grabbed one, wouldn't surprise me if the other two are still there.

And yes, I did rearrange the pegs for better photos.

Found a random PotP Cutthroat at another local Walmart on clearance for $4.50. Wasn't there a couple weeks ago so someone must have stashed it somewhere. Just going to hold on to it as a spare, the package is pretty beat up.

Nice, D-Max! How do you like MPM-6? I’m on the fence and trying to pick a side.
