My expectations are pretty low as I tend to not mix and match figures or their accessories. I'm sure I'll weaponize some bot with him at least once but he's mainly going to be an "accessory" for Fort Max.Rodimus Prime wrote:He's a decent figure. That's pretty much why I got him. I tried to combine him with Cerebros, but it didn't work. Cerebros doesn't have adequate pegs or holes.carytheone wrote:My expectations are pretty low as I tend to not mix and match figures or their accessories. I don't have Metroplex, so I'll be passing on Sixgun, but I'm contemplating picking up Trypticon, so I might get Brunt to go with him. Unless he already comes with a Brunt?Sixgun and Brunt will be purchased for similar reasons.
I'm just going to sit Cog on FM's shoulder. Metroplex is on my to get list eventually, but might as well get Sixer while the getting is good. Trypticon is neat but unless you're a huge fan of the character I really can recommend it. Can't say there's much to right home about and it takes up so much room (does not have a Brunt, but does have a deluxe and titan master). I got him and FM at incredible Ollie's discounts. The irony is that I'm a big Metroplex fanboy and will probably end up paying twice as much as I paid for both FM and TyppyRodimus Prime wrote:That's pretty much why I got him. Rodimus Prime wrote:Yeah, I would have preferred a leader class Megatron as well. It's been a long time since we got a decent leader Megatron outside of TLK. Hell, I can't even remember a good leader Megatron. The CW figure is a POS.
Emerje wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Well, they needed somebody to be a Leader-class Decepticon.
Given the in-between size of his main robot and the look of his add-on parts, I highly suspect Siege Shockwave is a hasty tweak of the Evolution design prepared for PotP in case he won the poll, and having that design ready is why he got the spot.
Could explain why he's smaller than a Voyager but bigger than a Deluxe like Orion Pax, Hot Rod, and Primal.

Rodimus Prime wrote:Yes, those leader Megatrons are good, but we have to go back over 10 years for them. Since then, outside of the movie line, the only option is CW Megatron, and I never understood why people thought that is a good figure.

Those are G1 Tubo Master, Double Punch, Omega Spreem, and Windmill. 3 of the 4 are really cool smaller versions of enormous bots. There is so little our there in terms of pics and knowledge that I will probably take some and feature them as pictorial review articles here.

Well, Animated was the last show to go for a really big Megatron...
As for why people think CW Megs is good, I don't know. I have no personal experience. He looks decently articulated

CW Megs really isn’t that well articulated. His knees barely pull off 45 degrees, his elbows can’t get a full 90 degrees because of arm kibble, and his shoulders are placed lower than his neck-Line so his arms rotate from just above his abdomen instead of, you know his shoulders. His fusion cannon isn’t removable and also hinders the articulation on his right arm, God that things a pain.
He big, looks cool in both bot and alt mode, has working treads (even if they cheat a bit) but ultimately leaves a little to be desired.various wrote:Stuff about CW Megatron
I actually don't mind the tank mode. It looks pretty good. But they sacrificed a lot of the robot mode to get the tank mode right. I mean, as the figure is now, I would chop off the arms and legs and start over with the torso. The chest and head are fine, but the legs are laughable and the arms and cannon are just clumsy. For a leader class of such an important character, these shortcomings are inexcusable.carytheone wrote:He big, looks cool in both bot and alt mode, has working treads (even if they cheat a bit) but ultimately leaves a little to be desired.various wrote:Stuff about CW Megatron
I'm one of the few who felt the leaders of CW and TR were just too damn big. CWatron was aight as a stand alone thing, but never really had a home on my shelves. Hell I paired a lot of the leaders from CW with the MP figures just because of size.Rodimus Prime wrote:I actually don't mind the tank mode. It looks pretty good. TR Megatron is the exact opposite. Damn good robot mode, halfway decent jet mode, utter trash tank mode. Yes, I know the original intent of the mold is Blitzwing, that's why Megatron has to suffer, but the figure is not good even as Blitzwing.

Nemesis Maximo wrote:I never got the CW G1 Megs, but I’m a sucker for Armada homages and bought it when I saw it.
And every time I look at him, all I see is this:
And just to keep this on topic, I did also get Siege Megatron, and MY GOD this is the Megatron I didn’t know I needed all this time. It’s everything I love about CHUG: Classic character, scales well with Classics Optimus, has a familiar look but is nicely updated for the 21st century, good articulation, and the proportions are spot on. I’ll be damned if there isn’t an Armada version of this guy someday.

Ultra Shadow Striker for $5.
Grabbed a second Moonracer for no other reason than that she was only $4.50. So much for being rare.

When they first went on clearance there was 5 of them at $13 each.
Then everything above moved to the clearance aisle and the price dropped to $9, everything sold, but three Moonracers still remained.
And then the price dropped again to $4.50 so I grabbed one, wouldn't surprise me if the other two are still there.
And yes, I did rearrange the pegs for better photos.
