Bug Bite could just as easily be a redeco'd TR Bumblebee with accessories thrown in to bring him up to Deluxe value. Hot House could be a similar redeco of CW Powerglide (although he could instead be a redeco of Ironworks, Airwave, or an as-yet-unseen Modulator as Hot House's fire station).
Also, just because we haven't seen double-dipping yet doesn't mean that we won't. SELECTS is still a baby line, especially on the Hasbro end.
I hope that that rumored G2 Megatron is pulled from Selects to take the regular version's place at retail, and the regular one scrapped altogether.
Greasepit is probably going to be a redeco and retool of Ironworks based on this:

Although he could instead be a redeco of Sideswipe as the scrapped G2 Go-Bot Greasepit:

...why would they not make Hot House and Greasepit Modulators? I don't understand where you got that idea from,
With Hot House, it was the fact that we haven't seen anything of him yet so using the CW Powerglide mold beefed up to a Deluxe with accessories is
also a possibility. That and when I double-checked who Hot House was I overlooked his base
With Greaspit it's just hedging my bets because there
is that other Greasepit. And hey, you were the one speculating a Machine Wars Hubcap.
Nemesis Primal wrote:Also, so far, Selects HAS been limited to WFC molds for it's WFC Selects figures. The closest to an exception to that has been Lancer, but she still used Greenlight's tooling/version of the mold that only got released IN WFC.
The Greenlight version may have been packaged as SIEGE, but it's still very much a PotP mold with new bits.
Nemesis Primal wrote:The only Selects figures that used old molds were the PotP limbs that were explicitly labeled as PotP Selects and had nothing to do with WFC.
So far, but that could always change. Especially with Hasbro having seen the sales of the Seacons.
Nemesis Primal wrote:or there's a Bumblebee figure/mold we have yet to see that Bugbite will use and Hubcap will then be a Cliff repaint, since Hasbro already said Bumblebee won't use the Cliff mold if he gets made (unless they just mean he'll be a heavy remold like Siege Ratchet).
I would hope that they either do that or use the TR Bumblebee mold rather than make Bugbite a Cliffjumper redeco, because Bugbite being a Cliffjumper redeco would be stupid. Because Earthrise Cliffjumper is absolutely
not a pseudo-VW Beetle and thus the name wouldn't fit.
