Sometimes Walmart gets stock that's not ready to be on the shelf for a few days. Having said that, I also checked the Walmart I work at after above mentioned heartbreaking football game (I was rooting for the Chargers and Bears today), and finally found a the small guys that turn into weapons, but that's it. Gonna have to check tomorrow morning when I go to work. And Ironhidensh, Magnus is one of the figures that's and in hand decision for me, so hopefully he's not as bad as you say, though usually you and I are in agreement about figures.
Magnus is amazing, he's dense and stocky, yet lithe and poseable; and his truck mode is about as burly as a vehicle can be without becoming a physical manifestation of testosterone-fueled road rage and anger
Shockwave is the shockwave everyone ever wanted only with a higher parts count than he would ordinarily merit and a cool super cannon mode and a cooler 4-armed death machine mode, plus his drone/stand is cute
For me the in hand is Shockwave. I'm just having a hard time justifying all of those extra cable Parts as Shockwave. I really like my Transformers Prime Voyager Shockwave but I just looked at the tank tread that becomes the gun hose on that figure, and it's starting to show stress marks in between in between each of the little tread linkages that tends to come with Transformers with rubber Parts after a few years so I'm going to be on the hunt for a new Shockwave figure sooner rather than later anyway. With Ultra Magnus, I was really excited when I first saw the reveal, then cooled off a lot after a few days. And now I kind of warm back up to the design. Mine is currently sitting at the FedEx SmartPost Hub so I'll leave it have it tomorrow or Tuesday depending on whether or not they in decide to do the delivery themselves or give it to United States Postal Service.
I have never liked the G1 Ultra Magnus trailer design. It just doesn't look like a car trailer to me, which is what I loved so much about the car robots and now the siege design is the vehicle mode actually looks like something. That being said I really liked the combiner wars figure because it's a one piece transformation, and I like the imposing height of it. He currently stands back Center on my shelf of main cast Autobots and stands over everybody that just enough of a height to establish himself. The Siege figure doesn't have that kind of height even in its armor. The other thing The Siege figure has in its favor though besides the alt mode, is the 5 mm fist holes. I've amassed quite a collection of weapons for Ultra Magnus between the forge, better-looking done, the sword that came with the Fall of Cybertron figure, and the combiner wars Ultra Magnus can't hold any of them because of the opening hand. So I'm really excited to get the siege figure in hand and really experiencing both side by side
