Curious about this but are we getting Skyfire by chance? (or Jetfire, before he became an Autobot.) :CON: :BOT:

Nothing announced, but he's a shoe-in for Leader Class... again. Mind you, we've practically hit the lower limit for molds in that class, depending on how one counts. If not this year, then definitely the next two.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

I hope we get some more outliers in this line. Cybertronian Runabout and Runamuck, for example, could be interesting.

These 2 are among the ones I hope to see as well. I want to flesh the cons out some.

We also need to get good coneheads here. We are getting the 84 seeker lineup, and we got the 87 seeker lineup (Triggerhappy, Misfire, and Slugslinger, i count them that way) and the 86 lineup between CW and TR (Cyclonus and Scourge) in TR. So we need them.

I also want some Predators.

Cybertronian Coneheads could be really cool. If the 84 Jets are Tetrajets in this line, what could the Coneheads be, Some kind of futuristic Osprey (in light of Thrust)? A new Straxus and/or Thunderwing would also be welcome.
Of course the chances of new Decepticons are roughly 10 to 1, given the designers and the more vocal portions of the fanbase that they cater to, seem far too pro-Autobot.

Baddies being the afterthought has been a frequent occurrence in Transformers, going all the way back to G1.

Cybertronian Coneheads would probably be "Tetrajets with weird wings", although in this mold's case it's dependent on what the transformation allows for. Although, the legs being where they are would allow for Dirge and Ramjet's wings to be leg-mounted like on the Classics/Generations versions.

It's sad considering virtually all of the Decepticons, since G1, have been better visual designs. Jets, Tanks, Big Rigs etc
The line should be 50/50 and clearly some out there are ignorant of that, for whatever reason.

It's all down to what sells better and what sells better in other markets, especially in Takara's home market where baddies don't sell that well (exception to this is when they can repaint a goodie into a nice black paint job) but yeah, good guys sell better than bad guys with the child audience. It is what it is.

I have twice as many Autobots as I do Decepticons, but is that because of preference or what's available at retail? Which dictates which, nurture or nature, chicken or the egg? :-?

I'm not disagreeing, just tossing out a counter point.

A little bit of both. In 1984 Autobot toys outnumbered the Decepticon one, but in the following years both sides got roughly equal amounts of toys. It was a bit of a time of experimenting in what worked in the US market, really.

btw the egg came first, due to reptiles laying them long before birds even evolved.

It's not a unique thing to Transformers either, it crops up in a lot of toylines. Some years tend to have more or less parity, others have an imbalance one way or the other, and it depends on the line.

Within Transformers, the Japanese toylines tend to be really bad about more good guys than bad. Zone (where the only bad guy toys were Metrotitan and the Race Track Patrol) and Return of Convoy were the absolute worst.

Went to Wal-Mart after the heartbreaking Bears game, and found wave 1 voyages and leaders. Ultra Magnus is crap, but in hand, Megatron and Shockwave (minus all that stupid armor crap, he should have been a voyager) look pretty good.

Well then you might not have been able to buy it yet, unless the figures were in the system already. Sometimes Walmart gets stock that's not ready to be on the shelf for a few days. Having said that, I also checked the Walmart I work at after above mentioned heartbreaking football game (I was rooting for the Chargers and Bears today), and finally found a the small guys that turn into weapons, but that's it. Gonna have to check tomorrow morning when I go to work. And Ironhidensh, Magnus is one of the figures that's and in hand decision for me, so hopefully he's not as bad as you say, though usually you and I are in agreement about figures.

Magnus is amazing, he's dense and stocky, yet lithe and poseable; and his truck mode is about as burly as a vehicle can be without becoming a physical manifestation of testosterone-fueled road rage and anger

Shockwave is the shockwave everyone ever wanted only with a higher parts count than he would ordinarily merit and a cool super cannon mode and a cooler 4-armed death machine mode, plus his drone/stand is cute

For me the in hand is Shockwave. I'm just having a hard time justifying all of those extra cable Parts as Shockwave. I really like my Transformers Prime Voyager Shockwave but I just looked at the tank tread that becomes the gun hose on that figure, and it's starting to show stress marks in between in between each of the little tread linkages that tends to come with Transformers with rubber Parts after a few years so I'm going to be on the hunt for a new Shockwave figure sooner rather than later anyway. With Ultra Magnus, I was really excited when I first saw the reveal, then cooled off a lot after a few days. And now I kind of warm back up to the design. Mine is currently sitting at the FedEx SmartPost Hub so I'll leave it have it tomorrow or Tuesday depending on whether or not they in decide to do the delivery themselves or give it to United States Postal Service.

I have never liked the G1 Ultra Magnus trailer design. It just doesn't look like a car trailer to me, which is what I loved so much about the car robots and now the siege design is the vehicle mode actually looks like something. That being said I really liked the combiner wars figure because it's a one piece transformation, and I like the imposing height of it. He currently stands back Center on my shelf of main cast Autobots and stands over everybody that just enough of a height to establish himself. The Siege figure doesn't have that kind of height even in its armor. The other thing The Siege figure has in its favor though besides the alt mode, is the 5 mm fist holes. I've amassed quite a collection of weapons for Ultra Magnus between the forge, better-looking done, the sword that came with the Fall of Cybertron figure, and the combiner wars Ultra Magnus can't hold any of them because of the opening hand. So I'm really excited to get the siege figure in hand and really experiencing both side by side

Yeah, I mean, we get what we like for the reasons we like them; I love power ranger style robot+armor stuff, and have never had a 'traditional' magnus and have always wanted one so there's that; shockwave on the other hand, I like it, but I also like the new take they did with him, so there's that, I'm usually pretty easy to please with tf's

What don't you like about Ultra Mangus in hand, Ironhidensh? I've been on the fence about him for the past few months, preferring to stay with my Autobot Heroes repaint of the Combiner Wars figure, but after seeing some video reviews, I'm starting to warm up to this new Siege version. If there is a critical flaw you can see, it might help make the difference between me spending or saving an extra $50.

I got a lot of that is still somewhat locked up with Harmony Gold and Bandai. I'm shocked we got the (Combiner War?) leader Jetfire that was an almost spitting clone of his Veritech (G1) heritage and his cartoon robot mode. Whether they can pull that magic again with another "stormbringer" version from Classics... we'll see. It would be nice, and it's a good question of if he'd be a decepticon scientist working with Starscream.

This was brought up recently in this topic. Harmony Gold's suit against Hasbro using the Veritech likeness for their SDCC exclusive G.I.Joe crossover Jetfire was dismissed by the court and they were told they couldn't sue Hasbro again for it. Not long after Hasbro released Leader Jetfire and HG couldn't do a thing about it. At this point Hasbro could possibly do a full on remake of the original G1 figure with better articulation and there isn't anything anyone could do about it since HG is the sole license holder in the US for Robotech and Macross. But Hasbro wouldn't because Takara Tomy couldn't release that.

But considering Siege is supposed to be based on a G1 cartoon concept we're more likely to get Skyfire than anything and that would make me very, very happy.

:O. I either wasn’t aware or forgot about that. Excellent news! I can see it now. Skyfire’s upper portion is weaponizer armor lol

Oh, it was more than I thought. Just took this photo a few hours ago this morning.

5 of them and nobody's buying even marked down to $13. Maybe I should just buy them all stick them on eBay.

Yeah, all 7 of the Walmart's in my area have an abundance of Moonracers.
