At least he wouldn't be stealing Prowl's head deco anymore.Skritz wrote:I just hope Ratchet will show up at online retailers. Yeah, the one both the Animated and Prime Ratchets got saddled with, along with most G1 Ratchet toys beginning with the Universe one (on which it looked hideous).Skritz wrote:Sabrblade wrote:At least he wouldn't be stealing Prowl's head deco anymore.Skritz wrote:I just hope Ratchet will show up at online retailers. Oh, right, I assume you mean the mixed/reverse Marvel comic deco of 'white helmet red crest', correct?

Things like this always make it interesting how experiencing the different shows at different times impacts what we think, because to me the Ratchet helmets from Prime and Animated are the right ones and what I want the figure to have, with the comic red helmet white crest being alright and the cartoon white and gray being a turn-off.

I can sorta see where you are coming from, but for me, (insert unpopular opinion here), I prefer the Generations figure. I thought that was Straxus for me, and I don't really need another one for a while. Jhiaxus on the other hand, yeah, we need a new one of him.

The way I see it, we already got a SIEGE Astrotrain..
It just came out 2 years early during Titans Return
Hopefully the Astrotrain from the next part of the trilogy will have a steam engine mode. It's also good to hear about Apeface.

Its basically a remake of the Generation 1 cartoon-styled characters? How hard is that to guess?

Story line wise it's telling the story of the final days before both sides abandoned Cybertron, though currently there's no specific fiction for the toyline (there is a Netflix show based on Siege next year though). IDW is currently using Siege designs but that's a pre war story.
For practical purposes though, it's to help user in a new scale for the bot mode and to recreate the robot modes so they look as they did in the G1 cartoon.

Hey now. Let's be fair - not everybody comes in familiar with the old stuff.
War for Cybertron: SIEGE is a continuation of the long chain of neo-G1 toys that began with the 2006 Classics line, featuring new toys of characters from the original toyline and cartoon - with occasional expansion to other Transformers universes. There have been varying design trends and premises over the years (for instance, in some years the toys leaned towards the quasi-Bayformer aesthetic that took over the first IDW continuity).
The conceit of SIEGE is that it takes place during the war as it was happening on Cybertron. It leans heavily towards the cartoon, to the point of translating the "Alien altmode, Earthly robot mode" laziness of the first three episodes into toy form for several characters - most notably the Seekers (Starscream, Thundercracker, etc).

Are you US based Skritz? Because if not, these can be a real pain to get at a decent price.

Gimme red helmet with gray/white crest (Marvel) or white helmet with black crest (cartoon) over white helmet with red crest any day.
