Which would make little sense in line that is stated to be based/influenced by the cartoon.

Shouldn't be surprised by this though, as people have been bitching about not getting show accurate <insert part> on figures based on the original toys for years, so why would it change that we're getting a line intent on homaging the show.
You're generalizing and assuming that that's why I want a comic head. Not so. I never cared about cartoon accuracy or original toy accuracy. Never. I was brought up on the Marvel comics, and I have always wanted my figures to represent the characters from the pages.

Hopefully we get "recon medic" Ratchet in Selects to be a comic recolor... I mean... we got Marvel Impactor and everyone lost their **** lol (and not necessarily in a good way lol)

I wonder if we'll get a Van-transformer crossover with MLP or another Hasbro brand for a "traditional 80s panel van" sometime lol (probably not in siege though those molds could work... bonus points for "swappable panels" with alternate art lol

People are annoyed by slightly incorrect Targetmasters (as Battlemasters) but honestly I'm just a bit underwhelmed by the Micromasters in Siege. They look good but the lack of things such as playset and their poopy combined gun mode (safe for the plane sword mold and the military patrol who look legit good) leaves me wishing for more like playsets. Next line seem they are doing the two-vehicle combiner so maybe we'll see more cool stuff from Micromasters.

I use my city bots as Micromasters playsets. I bought 2 G1 teams. One for my encore G1 Fortmax and one for my Scorponok. Then I bought the Siege military duo for my Gen Metroplex and the jet-sword for my TR Trypticon.

The do interact superbly well with the city modes.

My Metroplex is currently being crewed by the Autobot micromasters (and a few spare minicons) and I think these guys work better than the Titan Masters for crewing the titans. Really hoping Scorponok's next year's titan for the Decepticon micromasters to have a home

I'd hope that he's the next Titan. I can't really think of anyone else who they would prioritize over rapping up the main city bots.

Overquoting to say that I'm skipping on Omega Supreme, but I would REALLY be exited for a new Scorponok. The original G1 is impressive enough as it is, I wonder what improvements the modernised version would have appart a bigger size and obviously better articulations points.

The Air Strike Patrol homages the Star Saber (albeit without the grip and hilt formed by Sonar), in fact Storm Cloud's transformation is somewhat similar to Jetstorm who forms the bottom half of the blade:

They could easily add Sonar as part of a selects or general release, he could plug right into the bottom of the current duo(s).

I consider the weapon mode a fun bonus that really doesn’t impact the figures themselves individually. But yeah the military and jets do it best. Though the rescue duo is growing in me...

As for play sets snag a Titan’s Return (or bumblee) Soundwave. Or a Blaster. Best of the leader bases imo. However, Sky Shadow/Overlord is good too.

Limit the scope to outside G1? Or omitting the “city bots” at least- if you want to count some of the Prime trailers, like Armada.

Titan’s Return has how many?

Prime/God Ginrai
Sixshot/Greatshot (sort of)
Overlord/Skyshadow
Blaster/Soundwave
....?

Then (new) Fort Max/Tyripticon?

And now Omega?

Really hoping we get track packs. I know Warden was being cheeky if owned more than one Omega you could get creative.

Looked like Astrotrain had “base connections”. Wonder if we’ll get other leaders to join that ecosystem?

The Beast wars 2 active working water fall feature would win. Craziest base ever, the BW figures might not have had stickers but you could still do some damage to, or torture (rust) a few bots that had springs. The Siege Micromasters can even use it as a jacuzzi/onsen (kind of surprised it didnt turn up in the legends manga...)

Theres not much of a point then, since all the comments section will be like "why you no G1?".

basically, when it comes to base modes and playsets, aside from TR Trypticon (who I find pretty cool), G1 is where its at and everything else pales in comparison. And the reason why that is, is because g1 is the definitive era when all kids played with toys and the accent was on play features more than anything else. It was the golden age of toys, before the game industry started truly competing with the industry for kids' time and (their parent's) money.

quick heads up and for those in UK, check the toysightings and go duckhunting at Smyths for a Siege sideswipe at £1

I need more incentive to go to Barnsley than to pick up two Cogs at £5 each, just becasue it's Barnsley.

Not to derail much further from siege.... but if I understand this right.... the combiner is made up of 3 “duocons” which would be six “micro masters”.... so this could be done at *maybe* micro master scale or “scout” sized with battletrap/flywheels as a predecessor?!

Also if anyone wants clearer/close ups of any of that 10 pack, let me know

They're not even "duocons". They are 6 individual bots who can combine shirts/pants style much like Energon did (but long before Energon was conceived). The media just always portrays them in the same paired combinations.

Which would make little sense in line that is stated to be based/influenced by the cartoon.

Shouldn't be surprised by this though, as people have been bitching about not getting show accurate <insert part> on figures based on the original toys for years, so why would it change that we're getting a line intent on homaging the show.

With the reveal of Cyberverse Deadlock, I have to wonder why Deadlock wouldn't have been a (ahem) lock for Siege. I mean, it's his whole backstory wrapped up in bow - and by making him at all, it shows Hasbro is committed to the character.

Thoughts?

I 100% see a Siege deadlock coming soon. After all, it's the perfect redeco option for a siege toy that has few redeco options.
