They are not potential titans. Hasbro already said the avenue for Uicron would be through their new group fund centre where you would preorder your figure a year or two in advance for it to get made. The idea was that Unicron would be bigger than Titan Class.

Pretty sure everything they said about that was theoretical based on a few fan requests at the time and not something that was currently in the works. It would be a one or the other type thing for sure, but either one is still possible at this point.

And yeah, Cullen and Welker did a lot of the later commercial spots as they started turning them into mini cartoons in 1986 rather than the previous promos narrated by Victor Caroli (he'd be back later). From there on it was Optimus Prime and Megatron or Rodimus Prime and Galvatron promoting their new guys.

That Cog trailer is amazing :APPLAUSE: Also, I was trying to find the complete listings, but I only found the post showing the full list of Deluxes, Voyagers, and Leaders. Do we know what the micro master teams are in full or not yet? Cause I'm still hoping for that Barricade comes from the Mirage mold based on his G1 self and that one of the micro master teams is the Race Track Patrol. Though... Given the choice between the RTP and a possible Frumble pack, I'd prefer the Frenzy and Rumble boys get figures in this line even though I still love the mold from Titans Return

We should see a good chunk of the standard Micromaster teams, however only half of each team will be made, and there's no rhyme or reason on how two of each team are selected... tho it's worth noting that Storm Cloud and Visper/Whisper are the only pair that were originally gang-molded (i.e. sharing plastic colors) back in G1.

The Sports Car and Road Patrols have been listed, but no member info yet. I am predicting Blackjack to make an appearance as a redeco of Roadhandler, due to car shape and the name being fairly recent.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

Siege is interesting in that there are a lot of figures I'll be skipping just by virtue of already having good versions of them. I have Classics Prime as well as the G2 deco Voyager from TR and Powermaster from TR so I don't need another Prime. I also have Universe Hound, Classics and CW Magnus, Universe Sidswipe, T30 Chromia, Classics Screamer, TR Soundwave, Platinum Omega, Universe Prowl, and Classics Mirage. I also don't care about Red Alert or the camera guy and I'm not quite sold on the Micromasters or Battle Masters either. That leaves Cog, Brunt, Six-Gun, Skytread, Barricade, Impactor, Ironhide, Ratchet, Shockwave, and MAYBE Megatron (Depending on how I think the battle damage looks in person.) as purchases. Still quite a few, but nowhere close to the mostly full lines I've been getting ever since Combiner Wars.

I was noticing this when I was choosing which figures I was thinking about picking up. I'm only getting some of the ones that I can justify for an upgraded War for Cybertron display, and even then, it's mostly just taking the WFC and FOC figures I already have and picking up a few new ones like the new Prime, Megatron, and Soundwave cause I never managed to find those figures in my area. I'm really hoping they can knock the second part of the trilogy out of the ball park with some winners that haven't gotten some love like most of Japanese G1. It'd be a big shame if Hasbro went so G1 that they end up constantly trying to improve the same characters without touching characters we've not gotten in years. Some characters need figures improved like Sky Lynx, whereas others need new figure all together like the Seacons

For me, having TR/Bumblebee Movie Soundwave wouldn't stop me from getting Siege Soundwave; I consider TR Soundwave to be an "upgrade body" version because of his size and all.

Sideswipe is looking like his size might not be so bad ^^; I'll have to see him next to some Prime Wars and T30 deluxes to be sure. I'd also like to see the same for Optimus (plus Prime Wars Voyagers and pre-T30 CHUG deluxes like Wheeljack). I may well be eating crow on what I said, and I won't complain because I really like their designs.

I'm still worried about Ultra Magnus though. If I'm correct in recalling his stated super robot height as eight inches, that would mean his head would come up to Combiner Wars Magnus' neckline.

I'm a little surprised by multiple people asking for another Sky Lynx. The Combiner Wars version is a good modern take even with its sacrifices, and the Reissue is still available at a decent price for the size. I imagine the transformation is too simplistic to work well at Titan scale. Plus, he was a transport, and even Titan scale isn't large enough for him to scale properly with standard sized figures.

Don't get me wrong, he's been one of my top five charactees since I got the original for Christmas three decades ago, but I'm happy with what I have rather than pining for something else I'm very unlikely to get.

Sky Lynx himself should be a big boy (Leader at the very least), with both components, at least IMO. That said CW Sky Lynx is a cool looking toy, with a fantastic torso mode, so even though it kinda suffers as Sky Lynx himself I kinda want to get the Liokaiser set, as quite frankly Deszaras (or as I'll be considering him, Leozack with a bestial robot mode) looks great.

I will say I kinda want a "mono-component" Sky Lynx that transforms from his griffon-esque robot mode into a B-52 bomber. He'd have to be a bit more lithe (though the B-52 is such a long plane that with some creative liberties and some compression he'd bulk out fairly easily) but it'd probably work pretty well, and a giant transforming B-52 would be absolutely badass. Plus, a big jet bomber probably makes more sense as an altmode than a space shuttle carrying its own launch crawler.

Liokaiser is an underrated CW boxset if you ask me. It's worth getting as long as you don't pay an overpriced tag.

I'll probably be sticking with my Autobot Heroes version of CW Ultra Magnus anyway. The Siege version looks nice, but I don't appreciate the overkill on the greebling and I prefer the modern G1 look of the CW alt mode over the Siege version's Car Robots homage. CW Ultra Magnus isn't that terribly far off model in robot mode from his G1 rendering, either. He's just a bit more stylized. A perfect "Classics" style of Transformer, in my opinion.

I wonder if a new Vector Prime will be released in Siege? I love his original figure, (I have the Galaxy Force gold repaint and it rocks.) but it is definitely long overdue for a remake and Vector has become a pretty iconic character at this point. Plus, it seems to me that a Voyager scale spaceship mold like that has a great deal of repaint potential which would certainly appeal to HasTak.

Bringing in cybertron characters would be awesome, especially cuz they wouldn't have to be re-purposed into 'earth' vehicles for no reason, it'd also be cool to get more comic tie-in references like war within, and strombringer design cues; except, they cybertron isn't G1, and they don't seem to wanna go the easy route of bringing the comic designs to life (even though they were designed to be able to be toys) so I don't think that's likely to happen >:oP

Now, I know I've been agreeing with the charts so far. But Magnus is a case where the chart is full of beryllium baloney. It makes him way too small. His cab is the same size as Optimus, so his super robot mode is going to be bigger than that:
Image
Going by the original toys, this is how it should be (of course, going by the original toys Galvatron was made way too huge but that's another discussion).
Image
The Masterpiece version isn't bigger by as much, but it still comes out bigger than the chart says. And he was often drawn bigger than the chart. He was also consistently drawn at least as big as, or bigger than, Rodimus Prime.

Image
Now, here is the modern Rodimus Prime. Same height as Titans Return Powermaster Optimus Prime and therefore the same height as Combiner Wars Ultra Magnus, because PMOP is a retool of CW Mags:
Image

So, if Siege Magnus' head only comes up to CW Magnus' neckline he ends up too short next to Roddy.

To be fair, the original Ultra Magnus toy also has greebling overkill. Also to be fair, the RiD-based trailer was the only way to get away with a Voyager cab at the Leader-class price point without making the trailer look squashed-up.

Charts to determine "correct" size? Geeeez. And I thought I was a scale nitpicker back when the '07 movie came out and I wanted Leader versions of most of the Decepticons.

I think a lot of people, not just on this forum, go way overboard with the scale stuff

Motto: "Earthrise restock or riot"
I tend to go for "Correct size within reason". So it doesn't have to be perfect, just good enough (X should be as tall as Y give or take a bit, Y should be taller than Z by a certain margin give or take a bit) except where deviation serves a purpose. And where that's impractical (like the Gigantion characters' in-show size, or replicating the G1 combiners' magnifying to kaiju size when they merge) I take a leaf from the Galaxy Force release of Cybertron Metroplex and use smaller-scale figures (it came with a bonus Legends-class Optimus to approximate the show scale).

Also, Vic, we didn't make that - that's the chart that was made to tell the animators what size to draw everyone :P

Yeah, that's how I treat the whole scale thing as well. As long as it isn't absolutely out of scale 100%, I can tolerate it.

Sometimes, though, I can't even understand the argument of wanting perfect scale for many reasons. Not that I don't get why people want scale accuracy, it's just so unlikely to get everyone scale accurate. It only just became a priority with this line. Only other line that goes for scale accuracy is the Masterpiece line.

I mean... not like the series was good at keeping scale. Not in the slightest.
