It would have been nice for a longer track especially is they do make the tank battery operated again. I want to get this one. Omega was one of my favorite's back in the day even though I never had him until I got an encore version from takara years ago.

I had Omegatron (UK release of the G1 mold by Grandstand in it's original japanese colours) a couple years ago and it was kinda ok but what I did like were the electronics for walking in robot mode and watching that lil tank go round and round the track while rotating it's turret. Does this one do any of that then? Cos aren't most G1 updates missing the battery operated gimmicks the original toys had?
Also I think Omega's one of the few Siege toys where all that detailing style actually works in it's favour. It does break up the blocky look better than if it was all clean like the original and doesn't look overly cluttered like some of the smaller figures. But yeah the tank does look rather too oversized compared to the tracks (or they look far too small). He's not really covering much distance on his patrol.
I have anxiety, depression and aspergers syndrome so my behaviour can be erratic. I don't mean offense to anyone. Just very picky about my Transformers collecting. You're all cool! :)

Likes: Bayverse, Marvel UK G1, Geoff Senior art, '86 movie (more for style/soundtrack rather than Star Wars plot)
Dislikes: Bumblebee movie (lousy rehashed dumb crud), TFA, G1 cartoon, IDW G1, BW/BM, MP. The entire concept of Autobot Megatron

So I noticed that Jetfire has a "third eye" with the battle mask on. Reminded me of another large figure and seemed a little interesting.

Most likely all the hinges are just to hide things like the tank turret (only the back of it forms the head). The tank hatch is for sticking Countdown and probably other Micromasters inside. The crotch opens to stick the tank inside, in base mode it flips all the way down to cover the hips. I think the tank side guns are hinged so that they stuck forward on his chest and are revealed in bot mode along with the missiles when the yellow hinges are flipped up. The tank's change into the chest is far more complex than just sticking it in there, you can tell by looking at the torso frame in base mode.

I also just noticed that the tank is WAAAY too big for the track. What's that all about? :HEADHURTS:

I really want to see this thing from the back, looking forward to Toy Fair!

Looking forward to Impactor, and with him having hollow legs, I'm hoping he's a large deluxe like Ironhide.

Loving Omega. He will be the first Titan i get.

Skyfire looks good for those that want him, but I never particularly liked that design.

Mirage is decent, but I think I'd rather see the mold used as Slapdash:

And also, he got that War For Cybertron vibes from Console and PC versions, never saw the tank mode in that game.

Yeah, the more I look at Impactor the more I hate him. Deluxe is too short for him, his legs suck, his harpoon is gimpy, and they didn’t give us the awesome Spartan helmet.

On the flip side, I’m warming up more and more to Mirage.

All we know of the size classes are 2 voyagers(Rampage and Long Haul) and 2 deluxes((Hightower and Scrapmetal) both of which form 1 arm) with the probability of 2 to 3 voyagers (Mixmaster, Scrapper, and Overload) and 1 leader (Scavenger). So what does that all add up to? :-?

Wasn't there rumours of two leaders to make him up?

Regarding Impactor, we always knew he was going to be deluxe as that was the nature of the pole, it's just the nature of the beast of compromise.

Skyfire is going to look awesome combined with Sixgun.

Also, am I alone in considering displaying him next to T30 Jetfire and treating Skyfire and Jetfire as two different characters?

I like the new Mirage on balance, and I'm happy he'll be my first version of the character instead of Classics or CW. I'm disappointed that he has a false chest which doesn't incorporate the front of the vehicle, but cartoon fidelity rules that out anyway.

I bought a T30 Jetfire (that I still haven't opened) because I thought he was the most show-accurate version we were likely to get. Oops. Maybe I can resell him without losing too much money to help defray that $80 expense.

I would like a Commander class Star Convoy, but I can't imagine we're going to see another base/combined Optimus so soon after TR PMOP, PotP, and the Cybertron-style Siege Leader.

It has nothing to do with compromise and all to do with the fact that they rushed to get him out after the poll, this was a fairly short turn-around for a reveal and it shows; his legs are possibly the most hollow on a tf since the authentics, and mirage suffers similarly (though, I admit he does some clever stuff with his arms)

Sounds like a plan to me. Considering the aesthetic difference between the 2, considering each their own character is fine. I consider them as separate characters too.

I wouldn't say it was a rush job as so much of the designs would have been done on all the choices just like in the other polls.

I mean my point still stands, they could have pushed his release back and fleshed out his design some more, I certainly wouldn't be complaining if it meant he would be way cooler >:oP

It's *slightly* off, but not too bad.

It would be better if he were closer to TR Trypticon's toy height. Although Omega Supreme has always been my favorite TF, I always acknowledge he should be smaller than Metroplex & Fort Max, but still, as a toy overall I have no complaints, it looks great.

As I said earlier as well, Jetfire is a definite purchase. If we only get 1 Commander Class per year, I'd be k with that, since this is something new. Star Saber, Deszaurus, & Tidal Wave would all make great candidates for this size class in the future.
Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics

Wish List of Modern Combiners: Road Caesar, Monstructor & Dinoking (proper size to fiction), Landcross, Guard City, Battle Gaia, & G2 Defensor. Wish List of Titans:Metrotitan,Majin Zarak

Omega looks fine, properly beefy at the very least, I might get him if he goes on a steep sale around christmas, but I don't feel any need to get him >:oP

So now that we have a baseline size and price, anyone have any guesses at whom else can fill out this new size class? Mine is Tidalwave

Okay they don't look THAT bad let's not over-react here. Mirage actually looks pretty good. Both modes look fairly clean (aside from whatever is going on under the spoiler in his vehicle mode). He looks better than his combiner wars and thrilling 30 version, at least to me.

I don't quite know how I feel about Impactor though. Like he could be good, but that CGI render is not selling me on the guy.

You mean Classics over Thrilling 30 don't you? And I quite liked Mirage in CW, first time they ever repainted a Mirage out of Dragstrip and not the other way round.

Oops, yeah I meant to say classics. It's a great mold but it was a matter of time before it was out done. I think CW Mirage is cool too, but far from perfect. From the images I've seen online he looks super lanky, although he has a very nice vehicle mode. I like the proportions on the Siege Mirage a lot better, and he has a better chest too. I wasn't a fan of the combiner port being being visible on many of the toys. I think Power of the Primes did a better job at hiding them. I also think the mouth he has is odd, but so do most of the movie toys and I love those figures. I'm glad you like it though, but most of the combiner wars figures weren't for me. I did however love the Battle Core Optimus Prime though. That figure is awesome.

I will admit, that's not what comes to mind when I think of Impactor. Sure, he has the cannon, hook arm and colour scheme right but it looked more like a redeco of another character wth add ons to make it looks more like impactor.

Here is what I was thinking mroe or less:

I'm not that invested in Impactor as a character, so for me the toy can be whatever it wants. But, I am a tad disappointed he doesn't have that cool Spartan helmet. Always liked that design. Hoping to see some different angles of his head. The straight on stock render makes it hard to discern the shape of his helm. Hoping that head crest forms a fin across the top of his head.

And his face looks a little "cuter" then it probably should.

I don't think he or mirage was rushed. That poll happened back almost a full year ago, so they had plenty of time to work on both of the figures. Mirage looks great aside from the kibble under the spoiler, which just looks odd, but hey it's Cybertronian so I guess I have to let it slide. Nah, it looks kinda dumb. However I'm still sold.

Impactor though... Okay let me start off by saying I think the colors are nice and the tank mode looks pretty neat. Not great but neat. The whole top section seems to be made up o his torso so hey, he may have a rotating turret! That's always nice. I think the battle damage under the tank looks pretty okay and not like someone went crazy with silver paint for the most part. I think they did a pretty decent job with his shoulder cannon too. The robot mode though... There are a few problems. For one the middle of the legs being hallow is a shame, but they aren't entirely. The part of the leg that connects to the thigh is solid and the feet are too. It's just that middle section. It's a shame but not a total deal breaker. The overal proportions look good, and the paint looks good, but I also feel like he should have a bit more purple, but that's just me. What I'm not a fan of are the dudes duck lips. Hasbro hasn't quite nailed the lips on figures yet and this is one of those examples. It's not god awful but it kinda turns me off. The rest of the head looks pretty good though. I also really dig the hand swapping gimmick which allows you to peg various other weapons into the peg hole. The lips though...

I think it's very important that these are CGI renders and we shouldn't make our final judgements until we see the final product possibly at Toy Fair. Hopefully they'll look better then. CGI renders often make a figure look better or worse than the actual product so we shouldn't take them at 100% face value, but more like 90%.
