Re: Official Disgruntled Brits: We Dont Need No Stinkin Hasbro
Fair do's. And I do enjoy them.
Combined mode isn't quite as good as Rail Racer, but I'd say it's on a par with the Energon combiners, especially when you consider what a radical shift from the Scramble City style it is. Ok, so it's an experiment that didn't quite pay off, but a fun set nonetheless.

Rail Racer is awesome. I'd love to pick up a second set to display the individual bots alonside their combined form, even if the 3 individual figures don't manage to match the awesomeness of the combiner.
By your own rationale though wouldn't they also 'not fit', unless you wanted to stretch the imagination a little and think of them as a Classics Raiden.

I think the build team is just another way of looking at the scramble city gestalt idea. Every part bar the central robot is interchangeable.
Woulda been better if there were four limbs though...

I guess, but you're really stretching the idea of the Scramble City molds having two distinct "limb" modes available.

Damn I hate it when parcels come on Fridays because I'm never in and neither is anyone else. Tomorrow I have to get the bus to the local post office to pick it up but if it's what I think it is that may be a problem so maybe I should just wait 'til Monday, that way I can get a lift. Luckily my Dad said he will pick it up for me tomorrow
which will make it alot easier to get home.
My room's getting decorated next week and I'm getting some new shelves so my collection will look a lot better. I may then finally take some pics of my collection since it looks such a mess right now.

No Transformers? Run away now before this vile addiction swallows your life!
Top recommendations would include Masterpiece Convoy/20th Aniversery Prime. Big and solid, lights, Matrix, rifle, axe and gun mode Megatron so plenty of display options. If you go for the Hasbro version it's worth hitting ebay for a replacement set of smokestacks as the 'safety' versions are a bit too stumpy. TRU still had plenty about a year ago although they're probably getting a bit more scarce now.
Galaxy Force Convoy/Cybertron Prime. Back when leader class figures were sized like leader class figures. Great looks, loaded with guns and option of a stationary defense point or super mode. Won't be at retail any more but shows up regularly on ebay.
If you can handle the looks of Animated then Ultra Magnus from that line is pretty cool. Loads of hidden guns and a huge hammer. A bit small for a leader class but should be easy to track down for retail or better at the momment.
Not a good guy but since he's getting a rerelease in Universe packaging I'd be remiss not to mention Armada Unicron. He's Unicron, 'nuff said.

Cybertron Wing Sabre. There's a TRU exclusive recolour of him in movie packaging that should still be available called Wingblade, not as good as the original in terms of meshing with Prime's colours when combined though. The Cybertron Leo Breaker mould can also combine with that Prime replacing one of the arms with a claw mode. The forthcoming remoulded version Universe Leo Prime should be the best match colour wise for a good looking combined mode but the claw is still less impressive than the sonic wing mode.

I found this really weird TFA twopack of deluxe Ratchet and deluxe Bumblebee it's in a Voyager sized box and is priced at €20 which means that it costs just €5 more then a regular deluxe. I'm actually quite tempted to buy it as that would be the only way I'd buy that Bumblebee.

Thanks for all the info waaaaghlord
I found a Prime/Saber 2 pack on ebay for £140 + 37.50 seems a bit dear, what should I be expected to pay for them? Would it be cheaper to buy them separately?

If it's the Japanese TRU exclusive Sonic Wing Convoy gift set that price sounds about right, if it's the Hasbo Cybertron 2 pack with them both packaged in robot mode it sounds a bit much. Picking them up seperately might be the way to go. Wing Sabre tends to be quite expensive on his own but Cybertron Optimus was a figure produced in good numbers and available right through the line's shelf life making him easier to pick up at a reasonable price. There's some deals to be had on Prime loose but as a newcomer to the game you probably don't want to take your chances on a used figure. Shop around and hit the right auctions and you should be able to get both for 80-100 at a guess, as I've not been keeping a close eye on the prices for them boxed recently.

Go for it. Bumblebee and Ratchet are both, IMO, underrated molds. Bumblebee gets a lot of flak for being too big, and Ratchet... y'know, I have no idea what some people's problem with Ratchet is. He's a good, solid figure. There's nothing truly amazing about him (apart from the array of tools), but there's not a damn thing I can think of wrong with him. Articulation is fine, he looks good, no mods needed to get the figure up to scratch... I'd probably give him an 8 out of 10, if that means anything.

Well it's been ages again since my last post but I had to share that finally Activators Cliffjumper has arrived! I will be carefully opening him tonight.
This means that I am currently stumped as to what to pick up next as the legends minibots don;t seem to be here yet either...
