Re: Official Disgruntled Brits: We Dont Need No Stinkin Hasbro
**** day at work with last night's vindaloo repeating on me all day, great night at the pub, home at silly o'clock to have my hopes of a kick ass Wreckers set (which there are ideal moulds out there for) dashed. What's the point of putting out a teaser that has f\ck all to do with the set. Asuming for the moment that it's Animated, and I love Animated, I am seriously unimpressed. I've been planning to grab a boxed plus loose package with the intention being to resell but I am seriously reconsidering at this point.
B\llocks.

Nobody likes Huffer, his opinion doesn't matter.
They even replaced him with a blue duplicate that hardly shows up at all, and people STILL prefer him over Huffer.
Sorry to hear that mate. Why do you people insist on consuming vindaloo! We all know what it does to your insides!
While the idea of an animated set is pretty awesome, the animated figures themselves really aren't of the quality or calibre to make them that desirable.
Having said that, I shall have to hunt down a Kup to go with Ultra Magnus, Wreck Garr, Hot Rod and Arcee. Now where's Springer!

Rather than the animated figures themselves being the problem, the major issue that I can see is that the characters which have been chosen don't have the same general appeal that the characters from the last two years have had.
Let's face it, they're never going to top the '07 and '08 sets for a long long time.

The number of posts per page has been increased from 10 to 25, thus the page count has shrunk, but all the posts are still there.

I think that they have just increased the amount of posts that fit on each page.
I haven't noticed a huge drop in my post count, which happened when we lost a load of pages due to us being corrupt!

Oh man, I was always worried that some of those things might be hiding sharp teeth. You never know what to expect when you're playing around with one.

Re: Official Disgruntled Brits: We Dont Need No Stinkin Hasbro
I went through to York today to enter the beard competition that forms part of the Viking Festival. There were some most impresive beards on display but I made it through to the last four, and to be honest I am chuffed just to have not gone out in the first round. Next year my beard should be even more impressive...
Had a look in Fenwicks, no joy on TFs. Went home the long way and hit the out of town spots. Universe deluxes for 6 quid at Asda, nothing that I really needed but I grabbed the 2 Acid Storms on the shelf for my generic Seeker army bringing the running total up to 4 camo Seekers backing up the Henkei SS/SW/TC and Hasbro/Botcon RJ/D/T.
Had a look in Tesco. All that they had that I needed were the Stealth and Rescue exclusives, unfortunately still marked at full price. Ummed and ahhed about them and eventually decided to get both on the grounds that it's the first time I've seen them anywhere around here (I've been checking my 2 more local Tescos for months). Ratchet's not as bad as I was expecting and Lockdown is awesome, though I'm a little worried about modding the hands since they're clear plastic. Havn't put them together as a group yet but the Legends should look alright alongside Activators Bulkhead. Only reductions were on ROC Prime and the Ani Leaders, both half price.
Next stop was TRU. Got rather excited when I spotted Roadbuster Magnus on a shelf with a 20 quid tag, but on closer inspection it was the Leaders with the bonus Activators that were reduced. Harrassed the staff to make sure and right enough Roadbuster was 40. Pass for the moment, if I'd held off on the earlier Leaders for a bit I could have had far better prices (regular Magnus excluded since we seem to have skipped past him over here). Shadowblade Megs looks great up close and was specificly marked down to 30, tempting but I can wait a little while and see if he comes down too. The Movie packaged Voyager exclusives from last year were marked down to 15, I've already got those (when the 3 for 2 was on) but still not a bad price for a Classics Erector. Ended up walking out with 2 sets of the Ani twins (one set to display individually the other combined).
Almost a ton blown on toys today, but a damn good haul feeling, all warm and fuzzy. I've been saving like crazy for the Botcon toys but after yesterday's announcement I'm not sure how much I care at the moment. I think I've definately decided that I'm not going to bother with a loose set to sell and may well not bother with the boxed set either. I'll see how I feel over the next couple of weeks (don't see them selling out quite as fast this year) but it just felt like the financial pressure that a Wreckers set would have caused had lifted and I could indulge myself.

May have to pop to an Asda tomorrow.

That is correct, got one of those 'Roll Back' tags on the shelf ticket with the Ironhide/Sideswipe/Bluestreak/Acid Storm wave seeming to be their current stock. If this is still on if and when they get the Cyclonus wave I'll definately be looking at picking up half a dozen Uni Cycloni to form an Armada. Hell I'll probably be looking to pick up half a dozen of them anyway...

City Commander - Mess not with tha vindaloo!
Waaarghlord - indeed, bummer about the wreckers thang (and the beard competition, but I know what you would have been up against) but happily for me I was never gonna be able to afford a set anyway. Glad to hear you've had a great plastic crack fix instead though.
Sideswipe for £6.00 at asda! I'm so doing the shopping this week! Hope they've restocked!
Opened Ani Swindle, lovely figure. A few niggles but generally great. Not opened henkei megs yet though, most expensive figure I've bought so far so gonna I'm savour it.
Mini-collider is well in my good books today - not only has he only been playing with his Playskool Gobots but he's also been dancing to Opeth and playing one of my basses.
