Oh I know what you mean. Sometimes though you work with what you've got and tweak the character to match.
A number of my 'bashes have lead to the character it's self changing to match or in some cases (like Bludge) the characterisation and the 'bash expanding and "growing" together.

One alt I didn't see in any of the lists was this one:
Any chance we cons can have it as a heavy assault vehicle? It'd be a big shame to see it go as it's one of the better alt modes IMHO.
At the moment I'm one of the 7 people who still has that alt mode.
