I thourougly disagree on using an xp level. Not everybody who's been playing for a while has tones of xp is able to get the troops into more than one or two missions a day. Also "veteran" does not imply someone with experiance. My sister spent less than two years total in the army and had to be honorably discharged do to a torn knee; she is legaly considered a veteran.

That said we can't simply go and make every account registered before the onset of v2 a game vet either. What I would like to see is perhaps something along the line of those who have been members for at least six months or a year and have been reasonably active in that time made veterans. this would be much fairer to those who have not had much time to play

you have very good ideas too, however the more than six months idea would be rather hard cos that means about 11,000 players turning veteran.
then the movie joiners will complain and say stuff like thats way unfair they ALL get something cool and we don't.
( I am coping these down to give to Mkall it's not just some random thing I thought up)

Some kind of icon could be cool, veteran rank based on total experience of team before reset...
maybe have three brackets,
"Old Timer"
"Battle Scarred"
and "Veteran"

maybe something like this:

and those symbols would show up on our team profiles or whatnot.

well no. you're nowhere near the HMW celebrity of say Burn, or Sprokitz.

personally i think we shouldn't get anything.

i thought you wanted recognition? anyway I'm still unconvinced of the need to be rewarded with something special, to mark us apart. we've bee clamouring for new features, for V2, and now it's finally here we want something more.

I think that the most fair way would be to somehow archive your team from v1 either in your profile or somewhere else that's easily accesible. Those that wish could then link to those teams through sig links or something. I think basing it on xp, energon, time played, most recent access, colour of alts etc will only lead to those that would feel left out.

Damn good idea here - I think it needs to remain more of a ranking or recognition and not as much of as extra exp and energon. Please don't use how long you have been a member because people like me joined in 2004 and disappeared up until a month ago. Damn good to be back though.

That is about the only idea that would work.

And Tammuz, I was just saying that the whole veteran thing should fair.

I never said I wanted recognition, I just said it should be fair if it's done.

Really if the players are going to come back most of us should know who they are, like SNAP, or Sprockitz, we've seen them. The fact that their names are known now will probably carry over to a point. I can see it now " I killed LOD!" and even though it will be at a lower level it will have the right effect to those of us that know who LOD is.

Now to have that make a total effect on all the new comers we might think about having a Historic page of high scores, top I donno 20 TFs on both sides with top 25 players? Much like a hall of fame Tif mentioned.

Base on experience and how active the player has been, i dont see how much energon u have an important point.

I wonder how many of those old players know is gonna be a reset, some, i suppose, hardly check the forums

Are those rank stripes Glyph showed months ago gonna be used? Cuase if they are, maybe the X number of V1 players (top 10, top 50, i dunno) could have slightly different coloured ones, or slightly more elaborate ones. Something that gives them no real advantage, but says, 'did well last time'.

Well, we could even do it ourselves in our sigs and Avatars, but then everybody could pretty much do what they want. It would be nice if some kind of icon showed up automatically in our team profiles.

again, my suggestion was 3 wide brackets of "Old Timer" "Battle Scarred" and "Veteran" based on team XP totals. The icons themselves (in my mind) should be simple, like a stripe of color across the basic faction symbol. Highest xp= Old Timer= yellow/gold. Middle xp= Battle Scarred= blue/silver. Low xp= Veteran= green/ copper/bronze?(tarnished).

Seconded. My team is just barely making a profit of energon, and sometimes I struggle with the loss of it, but I don't stop on levels when I can level up to collect energon and be a level bully. I've seen bots with two-three times as many experience as my lv.4 cons stuck in level 3.

So, my opinion is, if a veteran ranking will be:
1. Make it a level-dependant (say: top con is 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-11 gets a different color badge)
2. Make it xp-dependant
3. Or time dependant
