As staff for almost decade, I made my own connections with hasbro. We at the site know what's coming out, what will happen and what won't happen. It helps us know which "rumours" to post and which not to. I cannot say what I know, I am nota leaker. All this to say that when I say something is not happening, it isn't just a guess.

On topic, I like the look of Override, I have no real attachemnt to the show, but cybertron was a banger toy line, and for me, Override is a fembot, one that breaks the arcee mold, and this figure looks sublime.

Considering that the leakers first mentioned this Velocitron stuff back in late August, confirmed Override as a Hot Rod retool in early September, and then later admitted that all of their info on the line was from pitch meetings/internal Hasbro dialogue and image usage and that none of them had actually seen the figures yet, I would assume that Override from Hot Rod was planned by Hasbro, leakers found that plan and relayed it to the Internet, and then at some point in 7-8 months that have passed since then, the plan just...changed. I'm surprised people are disliking the alt mode so much. I didn't think it really looked worse than the original.

I agree that the original alt mode looks better with the feet coming together better to form a hood area with headlights but I don't mind the look of the new one if it means we get that much improved robot mode.

It's the curvature of the windows that bothers me the most, it breaks the streamlining of the front in quite a hard way.

Instead all shaterred glass toys from here on out relate to the characters as they appear in their original G1 bodies but with the shaterred glass colours.
And in some cases that makes these designs have a dual purpose since a few shaterred glass colour schemes were homaging variant colour schemes of older molds/toys.

Shattered Glass Galvatron would be pretty funny if it used the Kingdom Leader mold since the SG character uses the G1 colors.



I guess they could replace some of the colors with more black and darken the orange, but I don't think the changes would be all that exciting.

However I'd be happy if they rereleased SG Megatron in Galvatron colors so we can repurpose it as Cybertron/Galaxy force Galvatron.

It became instantly iconic in the world of comics and then it was used in the Marvel films, bringing that pose to the forefront.



It's even the pose on the poster of the third film



And yeah, as Emerje said, it became the default pose to show how well articulated a figure was.

The poster looks a million times better than any of the toys in that position (just now looking through BBTS and some of their pix).

The new one is certainly less sleek and less aerodynamic for what's supposed to be a high-speed racing road vehicle, what with its more bulbous and more stumpy front end.

Damnation the hype was really served up on this one! No doubt I'm a part of the small minority when I say this is a total pass for me. When I saw all the images for Velocitron I could hear the jingle from the Price is Right when the contestant loses a game.

You'll have to let me know as I still have no plans to get the Laser Optimus...although, I really do like both versions. Black Convoy is the one, though. Always has been.
