The Transformer characters have been through a lot in between, battles, new planets, and space journeys etc. As more stories are told, we will reveal exactly how it all connects and that is the fun of the new continuity, no one should feel they know what is coming next. It is a valid point to request that Hasbro helps topline the connections for fans that want to follow the progress of the new continuity.
And, when I did that big analysis of Exodus, I analyzed War for Cybertron as well, revealing that it was just as much in defiance with G1 as Exodus is.

I'd say thats a redeeming quality rather than a flaw. If people were all as disatisfied with nowadays rock music as I am since it didn't measure up to the greats of the 60s and 70s, we might actually have more of the good stuff and less of the garbage. For example.
I wonder if theres going to be another super limited toyline, or a full blown one. And if we'll be getting Voyager Prime and Megs.
Transformers: Fall of Cybertron transports you to the final days of the planet Cybertron where you will experience the darkest hours of the apocalyptic war between the Autobots and Decepticons. Embark on an adrenaline-fueled journey through a wide range of missions and massive environments designed around each character's unique abilities. With the stakes higher than ever before, you play as a variety of Transformers, including Grimlock's nearly indestructible T-Rex form and the legendary Combaticons forming into the colossal Bruticus. Fight through both sides of the Transformers' most epic battles leading to their legendary exodus from their homeworld. Transformers: Fall of Cybertron allows you to go head-to-head as Autobots and Decepticons with its multi-player online mode. Create your own personalized character and weaponry with the most advanced and in-depth customization ever before seen in a Transformers video game.

since you put it that way, you could argue that it's both redeeming and flawed...simple

They have the videos playing for design inspiration. The story itself may make some callbacks to G1, but so does every other non-G1 series. A few homages do not equate to a canon connection.MINDVVIPE wrote:Thats cool that its its own continuity, since it seems to be handled with care and is being done well, but it can't escape being G1 in some way as it trots along its timeline... the guys making the game have G1 videos playing next to their work monitors.. haha. Enough said.

I was thinking about playing a giant Transformer when you controlled Metal Gear Rex in Metal Gear Solid 4.

No. Activision fails at marketing.
