But it's not Hot Rod. It's Rodimus Prime. Just because it was given a mode without a trailer/camper/whatever Doesn't make it a car, it could just be the cab part of the whole thing.Overcracker wrote:Interesting. Wonder why the decided to make yet another Hot Rod. What's the point of a second more expensive Hot Rod now that they gave us SS-86 HR?
Agreed. I think we could have gotten a Rodimus figure like the CW leader Magnus, where the whole thing turns from robot to vehicle, but I think they were going for the G1-homage where the back part separates and becomes a cannon platform. But the original G1 figure was kind of dumb with the separated Rodimus figure itself not having an alternate mode. This was the only way to fix it.Seems like they could have made a better looking Rodimus Prime without worrying about a Hot Rod mode. That's puzzling.
Again, agreed. I also think that the CC slot could have been used for a more deserving character. Personally I would have liked to see a true update of the G1 Powermaster Prime/God Ginrai. Voyager ER Prime (the Netflix version) plus an actual functional trailer. The TR figure looked like crap. The only other things I really want from Kingdom now are Tracks and Maybe Galvatron if he looks decent enough.

It should be pointed out that so far, there is nothing else to go on other then this picture and what information has been shared with leakers so far. The following picture it's self comes from twitter user, @hotconvoy, who doesn't offer a source for the picture.
As you can see, this is just the main body of Rodimus Prime, and though the picture isn't detailed, you can see some details on the legs that matches the style we've seen so far inn the WfC Trilogy. It's too early to say if be shares anything other then looks with the SS86 Voyager Class Hot Rod. We also see two accessories, a sword and a gun.
The picture also gives a Japanese ID number for him as KD-12 as well as a release date (in Japan), as August 2021, as well as his price in Yen. A date is also given of 10th of March, which, if this is to be believed, could be when we get our good and detailed look at the figure and everything he comes with.
Till we have a source for this, or get official confirmation, treat this as rumour.
If this is the real deal, what are your thoughts? Don't think this will be three in a row for Commander Class releases?
Give a shout out in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!

There's no way. That would be a car the size of Jetfire. No way.chuckdawg1999 wrote:I think that's all of Rodimus Prime. The car is going to be huge with the back end meant to look like the camper part. Hasbro made this different so people who have the POTP figure will double dip. Is it just me or does the car really look like an update to the original toy design?

ZeroWolf wrote:What if the justification was that this was the only way to properly do justice to the character? They may be more goings on to boost the core Rodimus past the plastic allocation of Voyager Class, plus the trailer has been said to be more fleshed out then what Prime got, so the plastic used on that and Rodimus would be more then what leader class would have entailed. It would have been easier at that point to add a few other bits to get it to commander class limit then take stuff away which may work for a worse toy.

I mean I never planned on getting Rodimus as it's not part of my wheelhouse of collecting. I just feel bat that a spot was taken that should have rightly gone to a larger transformer for this. If it does work, and the majority of fans love it, then they'll next be asking for a CC Optimus under the same premise.
I just hope to Primus, that the trailer doesn't have an Airlock compatibility...then I'll be purchasing it begrudgingly.

But it's still essentially a Hot Rod figure with a trailer. Yes, it would be kind of odd to just have a flat Rodimus without a trailer, but that's kind of what it needs to be. Even the PotP version at least gave the upgrade a twist using the trailer parts.
Here, it's just a Hot Rod car, that transforms into what just looks like a Hot Rod robot, and gets a Battle Platform from what we know so far. It just somehow seems lazy.
As to, Gingrai, Takaras retool works much better than Hasbro's Original version, and even gets God Armor. I think it looks great. Yes, its fiddly to combine, but hey it turns out pretty nicely.

It's not just a Hot Rod car, though. Where's the engine? It's not there because it's not Hot Rod. He's always been a separate car with a trailer, and this is way better than the OG figure. I'm willing to bet it's also larger.

Ohh no, it doesn't![]()
have an engine... its a completely differs thing....

Yes he's known to be a separate car in a few instances, but he's also known to be an integrated winnebago on others. If the titanium figure managed an integrated transformation, a commander class can surely manage something better than this.
But we'll see when we have more pictures of the trailer and the combination how it ends up looking.

Looks like just TWO wheels to me, actually. Does that make Rodimus Prime a bicycle?![]()
