Rodimus Knight wrote:I want to see how they end up justifying the commander class for him. Rodimus Prime robot should be a voyager size or what had been voyager size with a trailer. That should make him a leader class, lets be honest. So what can they add to get $30 worth of accessories.

those that remember season 3 will get that joke
jokes aside, I can't imagine any accessories that would go with Rodimus Prime that we didn't already get with Hot Rod. At least, nothing that would justify a voyager sized figure at a commander class point. Even if you added Spike and Daniel.
on that note, maybe there is more then one figure. I once fiddled with designing a Roddy trailer that turned into Star Convoy.
So it must come down to the trailer, and if so, that better be one HELL of a trailer. Like, 24k gold inlays for the flames or something. idk

However, I think it's too soon to tell if this is the real deal or a fake or mockup using bits from SS86 and PotP Roddy. If it is real, then they definitely used PotP Roddy's CAD files to make the Photon Eliminator Rifle.
EDIT: Why not a Decepticon Commander class to go with Scorponok, you ask? Because it's the 35th anniversary of the movie, not the 35th anniversary of Masterforce (I maintain that we need a Commander-class do-over of Overlord - he's the perfect Decepticon candidate for the class). Also, Scorponok was last year's Titan - this year's is the Ark Titan they made up for this line.
They could maybe have squeezed him out at Leader-class, but it would likely have resulted in a less-good robot and a camper shell battle station comparable in quality to ER Optimus' trailer base. And possibly a likewise-undersize vehicle mode. And don't forget that he has to be able to go toe-to-toe with Kingdom Galvatron (who we still haven't seen).

Looks amazing though, finally a good Rodimus Prime that’s (supposedly) in scale with a concurrent Ultra Magnus and (I assume) Galvatron. I’m confident he’ll come with the trailer, but I’m curious as to what other gear or gimmicks he’ll come with to justify the Commander price point.
Galvatron IS GLORIOUS. I cannot wait for it to reach everyone
He has the matrix chain ( all plastic ) and 2 mini grey Revenge ( Galvatron ship ) That can be display with Unicron or pegged together to form a circular gun.
No backpack. So clean. Shoulder sit a big low but not like Kup. The bulk is crazy , very hefty. Transformation is satisfying. Tread sit behind his bicep.
I *bleep*ing love him.
all silver face , still has goatee but all silver. It's a mixture of Megatron Siege with Big Red eye and Earthrise mouth. Good looking, a mild angry face.
He is nearly as tall as Magnus and taller than Cyclonus.
This one has a static matrix chain which is molded in a hanging shape that fit the torso shape of Galvatron. It even has peg to hang onto Cannon mode.
The Titan Rturn purple but more matte and robust
Has slight printed lilac battle damage on front torso and forearm. He also has printed gloss orange on his plasma cannon.
(when asked more about the cannon's paint)
it's not fully painted. Still clear orange from half to the tip , the rest has that glowy painted orange. In hand it looks good.
Oh , he is much taller than Earthrise Meg.
Also his cannon can be placed both on his bicep and his forearm , to your liking
(when asked about the similarity to Titans Return Galvatron)
they share nothing. Completely new
To say it short, He is scarely close to Fanstoys Sovereign. No kibble, Clean back.
very close to this , with Black tread.

Nemesis Destron wrote:Why the hell couldn't they have just kept Rodimus Prime a part of the Studio Series '86 line to give us a great figure just like Hot RodMaybe that was just too much to ask.
Well if this Rodimus outdoes the POTP version then I have yet another figure to replace!
I think if/
were smart they should give this new version some kind of huge double barrel cannon that reveals from the trailer just like his G1 counterpart...'nuff said!

o.supreme wrote:Whether the pics are legit or not, there is just no justification for this in my mind. It may be indeed a scaled down Masterpiece for Rodimus Prime which would indeed be the definitive version of that character in recent years however.... Even though we only have 2 previous CC toys, a pattern has been set of expectation of a larger Transformers character with lots of detail and extras, not a normal sized one. Star Saber/Victory Saber, Deathsaurus, Armada Tidal Wave, heck even BW TM2 Megatron or Optimal Optimus would be toys I could see rendered/ valued at CC. While this Rodimus Prime toy will no doubt be perfect for fans of that character, to me all I see is wasted opportunity missing out on another large Transformer well overdue for an update. I've joked about this before, but if the pattern kept going you could eventually get a Micromaster set, just sold with 7 other sets of Micromasters, and call that "Commander Class".
