Because, as I recall, we never actually saw him transform from robot to truck in the first film. He transformed from truck to robot 3 times

-in front of Sam the first time
-when he fought Bonecrusher on the highway
-when he got ready to fight Megatron

but we never saw him transform to truck from robot. It's been shown that he will transform from truck to robot when he fights Demolishor and once in front of the military officers, and probably in front of Sam in the cemetery. But I would like to see him transform from robot to truck.

I found it odd in the scene where they capture sector seven's agents , he says autobots roll out, then lets all them drive off while he decides to run while holding Sam and Mikaela. Like Why didnt Prime just transform into a truck like rest of them and drive with the kids inside him? (which would been a whole lot safer hehe.)

It didnt show him change into truck mode when they ran go get the all spark either. Like they didnt make the animation or something. Everyone else we saw change back and forth atleast once expect Prime, Scoponok(he never turned into robot mode, though he does have one), Bonecrusher, and Brawl.(since both died before having a chance change back.)

Its definitely something I too noticed with Prime, so hopefully we see it this time around.

Yeah, Bonecrusher got killed by Prime, but Brawl? when was he killed? I can't remember. All I know is that he was there on the highway, and after bonecrusher attacked, he was gone. He wasn't even around for the final fight. Or I just missed it...?

Barricade's death at Optimus's hands was filmed for the movie (or at least scripted) but edited out... leaving his fate an unresolved plot hole. Turns out it worked for the best, since that just means he'll be in the second movie.

I love his alternate mode. Best. idea. ever.

As for Optimus's transformations, I never noticed it before. Good observation.

I thought Brawl was the tank that got killed in Mission City. I know in the subtext they misnamed him Devastator.

Yeah that was kinda confusing. I was actually talking about Barricade, the police Mustang, who originally had the name Brawl, then it was changed.

I too was hoping to see this in this movie. I figure it must have been too expensive or time consuming the first time around.

They had inject alittle plot induced stupidity so Sam and bumblebee would be captured.That whole part could been handled better. Hopefully they dont inject too much plot induced sutpidity just make Sam more important than he really is. Im guessing theres going be a bit, but I accept that long as the movie is still fun watch.

To my understanding from hearing story leaks, Prime will be off on his own more in parts of the movie. So with that he would have to transfrom from truck to bot and bot to truck at least once or twice.

My guess on the first movie was for the sake of the story they didn't write it in for him to transform and hide mikela and sam. To us it would make sense to transform and hide away from Sector 7. For the story to work and introduce the hoover dam portion they needed something to lead into it. So they picked having sam, mikela, and Bumblebee to be captured.

Thats what I think.

Well was alot of bad ideas in way the characters did things. I will forgive it being the first stab at getting the series off the ground. I mean if megatron can fly thru space, freezing him shouldnt work. Prime best idea was to kill himself while leaving a rampaging megatron still active in a human city. (though it seemed as if Sams just ran away while Prime and him fought Megatron would fell to the air force without the All spark being wasted.)

You can pick apart plenty if you want to as its far from air tight heh. Ultimately I just view it as a sampler platter for the real deal coming later this month. it was an unproven franchise and alot of the plotholes likely spawn from them using bot time sparingly making certain scenes disjointed.Im guessing they d make a scene, then change their mind about something, they they d still have keep what they did since they arent going redo any bot scenes since they were commited to those. Like what the heck was megatron doing with jazz till prime arrived. Or where hell were all autobots while sam is running for his life from megatron.

It suffered from the budget blue balls(just when things started getting good it stops or shows something else.) the TV series Heroes does.(action scenes resolve extremely fast or we dont see all of the fights.) Unlike heroes they getting the budgeting to iron out alot of that. (heroes I doubt will change their stance as they love have closed doors not show us climatic battles.)Transformers will deliever things time around closer to our expectations and probably exceed them in some degrees. Its proven its a success so the can go all out hehe.

We did see the truck taking final shape after protofrom OP scanned it; so there was a partial transformation.

The way he transforms seem to be made that, somehow, he's unable to transform back on-screen. cC't explain with words. Just watch him transform ten time in a row and you will see.

I was aware of that since I saw the movie theatre, but never mentionned it. Overall, its no big deal.

I would hope for it....in vain. How bout Prime find a new alt mode more like the g1 tractor???? it would be a win win win for everyone new fresh design for movie, a new toy mold and fans would love it!!!! :mrgreen:

On a $200 million budget? I doubt it...and even if there were cuts, they wouldn't be to the second-most important character in the movie. But who knows.

Hahaha. Yikes. I thought Prime killed him under the Colesseum. It looks like it simply just 'delayed him'... so his death is unconfirmed?

Either way it's in Chapter 17.

Oh, right. Duh. When Starscream and that Italian guy tried to trap Prime. I remember. I think Prime did kill him. Or at least beat the hell out of him. Because after he got out, Starscream flew away leaving Barricade on his own against a pissed off Optimus Prime.
